Just read in the Pompey programme that the previous 4 Pompey Charlton matches had all ended in a 1-0 wins to the away team, so the result should never have been in doubt!
My 23 year old son went today and only just got back. He just fell through the front door singing Valley floyd road absolutely slaughtered with a broken voice. That’s what it’s all about aint it?
What a result!! Thought we had blown it with those three poor results but astonished by the 100% turnaround in performance. Defies logic - but that's always been Charlton! Firmly believe we can make the playoffs now and win the final. Championship football next season, how delicious.
And nobody else cares much! Did you see the coverage on channel 5 last night? The size and significance of the game was lost on them!
Not only that, @LouisMend needs to have a word with his bosses at BBC London - why do Wimbledon always get a higher billing than us? Those muppets are nearly always before us in the preview section and post-match round-up.
And that is why we are all Charlton fans, for these moments, the same reason I fell in the love with the addicks 35 years ago watching us beat Brighton at home 2-0 with a Martin Robinson double, very proud today
It seems my sighting of the fat lady - following the Scunthorpe game - were greatly exaggerated. I apologise.
That's because it isn't her... It is actually the great Liverpudlian Tenor Karlo Robinsone during post victory celebrations in an Oxford curry house singing his famous aria: Nessum Korma
One game at a time sweet cliche. Superb day out for Cafc fans yesterday and great mentality by the players. As the Wimbledon and Scunthorpe games should prove, nothing is a shay. (given) Amos has been excellent for most of the season with a different defence in front of him every week and was immense again. It is such a shame that Fosu is the new sicknote, though he has competition with Page and Stephy. 50/50 for me now if we make playoffs, Blackburn want to be champs and Rochdale want to stay up. One game at a time sweet cliche.
Have made a weekend of it. Left the family at Gun Wharf and did a Shanks pony to the ground stopping off at the Fratton for a pre match meal. Fantastic Charlton atmosphere created. Amos, Bauer and Pearce were immense. So pleased for Ajose for getting that monkey off his back. Concerned about injuries to Fosu and Page but maybe now is the time for others to step up to the plate. Walked back to Gun Wharf with a spring in my step and bought myself a suit as you do. Took on the President's recommendation and had a nice evening at Port Solent. Back at the hotel, forced to change rooms as water was coming in due to the thunderstorms that hit the South Coast last night.
Got home around 9.30 last night and still needed a drink out with the mrs to unwind- even after a 4h drive
Great day. Team excellent. Amos my MOTM. That save was incredible from a head-on view.
A few things not mentioned above
Fosu- I was shocked that he came back on after pulling up with what looked like a hamstring injury. He was through and pulled up on classic style, went off, came back on for 4 or 5 minutes, then went down needing a sub! I’d hate to think we could have had him back in a week or two, rather than a month because of that.
Marshall - went from sublime to ridiculous when he came on. Excellent work rate and great outlet under pressure, but abysmal crosses (albeit from the left). Even DaSilva couldn’t get a good cross in from that side.
Other than that, it’s all been said above. The lads put a shift in and so did the fans. We basically did what they did at the Valley, in reverse.
I’m thinking of switching to North Upper from West for Blackburn game- want more of that atmosphere. Want to get behind the boys. We need another win.
Re- our goal, it just goes to show that mixing it up a bit and sometimes going a bit more direct can bring you results. All that tippy tappy shit under Robinson usually got us shit all !!
Humble pie time. After the Wimbledon game I slaughtered the entire squad and management. Today was immense. Brilliant display from the team from the very first minute to the last. Ben Amos in particular. The support was also superb. Fantastic day out, and after 3 awful years I was proud to be a Charlton supporter again. If we play like this every game for the next month, we will piss promotion.
That has to be one of the best atmospheres at an away ground in 40 years of watching Charlton , we've had bigger away followings but never as noisy and constant. It will live long in the memory
I don't know about anyone else, but in my mind, even if we do not get into the play=offs, I think Lee Bowyer needs a big thank you for bringing excitement and hope back to our club. I do not know who our new manager will be under new management, but Lee will not have done his prospects much harm.

A day i will literally never forget, and that goes for the half dozen guys in our travelling group as well.
Dont go to many away games and have never experienced this atmosphere before. Singing from first minuet to last !!

Keep a look out for a brilliant Fan Cam later this evening #cafc
