Can someone explain to me why Steven Mullaney is on the Lions Tour? He is 32 and has a First Class batting average of 37 and takes a wicket every 35 runs.

I thought the Lions Tours were meant to be for potential England players but I don't think even he would expect an Ashes call up!
It has been a disastrous tour.

I see that once again Pope is keeping wicket, while Billings as captain is only batting

Shannon Gabriel sorry for asking Joe Root if he 'liked boys':

By all accounts, Gabriel called Root a "Batty Boy". Can't think anything more insulting than being likened to Gareth.

That photo of Gabriel with Root and Stokes is both classic and cringe

Gabriel is a bit of a prick tbh.

Farbrace has quit England to take over Warwickshire. We should now relieve Baylis of Test duties and let him go after the WC. We should now get someone in who understands Test cricket to start preparing for the Ashes.

If these two carry on as they are we could be chasing 400! That was one expensive drop earlier.

    Why no Rashid so far?

    Gayle 118no inc 11x 6's.

Roy dropped him on about 9.

    1. First fifty off 76 balls, second off 24
Interesting that Gayle's tactics could almost be considered old school, playing yourself in then exploding, rather than the more usual approach now of going hard from the start

Windies 20/1+ for the World Cup .. get on it now lol

Gayle is the first player to hit 100 sixes against one team.

    360-8 off 50 overs.
The wicket is a grassless batsman's paradise, so this could be close.

might wait to see what their bowling is like in this. wicket isent up to much from the sounds of it.

then again our wickets in the world cup will have a bit in them.

I imagine an in form Hales would have loved to bat on this, the sort of player who if he has a good day can smash a 150 in no time.

I don't think they will as they will be prepared by the ICC and not the ground staff of each ground.

But then there is only so much "neutral" ground staff can do, the basic pitch will have been created by the county's own ground staff

Under strict instructions from the ICC, we had it in the recent Champions Trophy, believe me they will not be usual English pitches.
