Well done Joe Denly! I'm wondering when was the last time a Kent player got a half century for England in a test match. Chris Tavare I would imagine.
    Geraint Jones

Geraint Jones got a 100 against New Zealand and before that Rob Key hit a double hundred against the West Indies.

If Tavare scored a fifty it would have taken him about a day and a half.

Jones last 50 was in 2006, three years after Smith.
  • That wasn't a great shot from Joe for a good innings from him anyway.
  • B*gger !

Great innings from "our " Joe.

Would love to see him take a couple of wickets now.
  • God only knows what our top three will be when we face the Aussies .
    Glad I'm not a selector .

  • Sorry to Kent-ify the thread but who was the last Kent player to score a century in a series played abroad? :-)

Can't argue with that side - the worrying thing is that when the Ashes do come round Stokes, at 28, will be the youngest.

    Denly has got to play.

We we cannot afford to not pick someone who has an average of 44.50 when batting at number 3 in tests.
  • Reminder that Roston Chase took 8 wickets in a session against us...
  • Tough to pick an ODI team looking at the squad IMO.

In the white ball stuff we really are in a good place leading in to the world cup.
  • 450 in front. Two days to go. Quick fifty in the morning then an hour with the new ball at them before lunch. Hope they get it over quickly and get the extra day on the beach...
  • Nice ton for Root when it doesn't really count

Test match tons all count. That's number 16. Some of Tendulkar tons came in dead rubbers but so what.

Oh I don't disagree a tons a ton, and Root is a class player, but could have done with that when the series was still alive.

I think I'd sooner have Dravid in this team at 3 than Tendulkar at 4, whoever scored the most runs
  • I meant to go on the Charlton Life website. How did I end up on the Kent CCC website? Did someone get some runs in a dead rubber against a team ranked one point more than Bangladesh?
