  • Wouldn’t be surprised if Bowyer used a fraction of the money from AD’s sale to Middlesbrough to give Lyle a new contract. Lyle to Brentford stinks of agent talk

How would he get this money? Is RD going to invest?
  • Calm down everyone

Apart from anything else I can't see why Lyle would want to go to Brentford. Konsa did when  we were one division below them, but we're the same division now

Perhaps the fact they are a club with ambition, he will get a pay increase and they have a chance of doing something in the league this season
  • Take a deep breath everyone.

We are in fear escalation mode.

We have similar in the run up to pretty much every window deadline of a major sale and in the last few at least it has never materialised.

I forsee a load of comings and goings over the next couple of days.

We really should keep your council till Thursday evening and see how the overall picture looks then.

Should be a flag button for sensible posts like this in the midst of a meltdown.

A well run club, but hardly that ambitious as they are specialists at selling players for a big profit.
  • Worst case scenario - Lyle and AD goes , no one comes in ,panic on the streets of south london.

Just curious why anyone would trust the actions of RD? It's been a great transfer window so far.

Has LB been given funds? I would love to be proved wrong.

  • Brentford are in talks with Charlton to sign striker Lyle Taylor, according to Sky Sources

  • Taylor to Brentford just mentioned on Sky transfer show.
They also mentioned that Brentford are looking at a number of strikers.

On an ownership ambition scale of 1 to 10 though we're at 1 and Brentford are probably around the middle. That's much more ambitious than us.

what about the free agent list for a replacement for lyle taylor. we need to know
  • If Taylor goes we are down and Bow should walk

  • The fact they are saying we are in talks is the worst part of all , it should be a flat out no chance we are not talking to you.

Nathan Thompson I would take at this stage
  • Having been anti boycott,my first thought when I saw the Taylor Rumour was to demand my season ticket money back, this would be a disaster ,i just dont see how we could recover from this.I honestly feel Bowyer would walk, and Roland would finally have achieved his aim and alienated even the most diehard(and Gullible like me) of supporters. This has really got to me,i am just off to Golf and am terrified of getting home and seeing the news confirmed.

How can anyone who loves the club keep a sensible head on at this moment of time. We have an owner who is trying to destroy the club. Why the fuck people bought season tickets (10,000 +) i'll never know. DO NOT PUT ANOTHER PENNY THIS MAN'S WAY. Also those who support valley gold, STOP. If  Taylor is sold, I think there will be real trouble, and in my opinion, it's about time. Fuck plastic pigs and ping pong balls etc
    This....a lot!

That 2million would be better spent on wages to help get the players we desperately need that are on free transfers etc. I'd rather get 3 10k a week signings that can make a difference then spend 2m on 1 player
Exactly. Some people on here seem to forget the situation Charlton are in with the  owner desperate to off load the club. As he was at the start of last season. If we had new owners then yes, I would expect new long term contracts to be offered to existing players and new players who are free agents. Maybe even pay a fee for a player. Season long loans and short term contracts are the only viable way of providing LB with a squad that has a chance of staying up this season.
This is what makes the signing of Bonne so hard to understand
I know the goals Bonne scored were in the National League but is he being written off already ?
Why can't he make the step up, Gray, when at Luton did.
Plus Gallen had been watching him long enough according to the speech marks attributed to Lee Bowyer.

Not every post by Red Henry is correct despite his apparent accuracy on Lee Bowyer signing his contract when we were being told he'd walked, and the 1.9 million being accepted for Dijksteel.

Bonne not being a Bowyer and Gallen signing and confirming that Oztumer had signed 3 weeks ago were inaccurate.

"Taylor's getting old, it's good deal that makes sense and maybe some of the money will get a hungry young replacement. If he doesn't want to be here he can go."
  • Having sold Maupay for £20 million, there have been persistent rumours that Palace are interested in taking Ollie Watkins for £11 million. If so, Brentford will need reinforcements up front.

We’ll find out soon enough whether there is anything in the Lyle Taylor rumours.

Difference is, they re invest, have you seen who they’ve signed this summer? They are a much more attractive team to join than us.
