any decent free right backs about, still deffo need 1
  • A small amount of credit needs to go to Roland. Not many chairman would have rejected that bid for Taylor.

But in doing so shows how awful he is. We lose Aribo etc for peanuts and then he rejects a bid we should probably have accepted.
At a properly run club you’d accept 4.5m for a player out of contract next summer (assuming he won’t sign a new deal, but even so it’s a decent fee for a 29 year old unproven in the Championship) and let the manager spend that on strengthening the squad overall.
There would have been carnage on here if he'd sold Lyle.
  • We have 30 minutes left to officially confirm Kayal and Hemed

    Senior players only:

    Phillips, Amos

    Solly, X
    Lockyer, Oshilaja
    Pearce, Sarr
    Purrington, Page

    Cullen, Field,
    Pratley, Forster-Caskey
    Kayal
    Williams, Aneke

    Taylor, Hemed
    Leko, Bonne

Add in Wiredu, Lapslie, and maybe Morgan (although I think he will now be allowed out on loan). That’s not bad at all, pretty good in fact.

As far as I’m concerned Leko isn’t a striker and Bonne we have been told is a project so just the two strikers, would have liked another to be honest.
Understand what you’re saying, but Leko has been brought in to be a striker this season. I think he could surprise quite a few at this role.

So 3 strikers, plus Bonne isn’t that bad, especially as we could play Aneke up front too if we wanted.
  • Perhaps Lapslie will cover Right Wing Back?

Suspect Hemed may be a bit of a donkey, but think Kayal is a good signing.
How many times have you seen him play? Give him a chance FFS.

The names Connor Randall and Nathan Thompson have been bandied about. Wouldn't like the latter, who looked a right piece of work when goading Alex Mowatt of Oxford after he missed a penalty.

All the fuss about signing loads of players but don't forget Fraeye said we can only play eleven at a time
  • One of the clever parts of business done today...

If we sign the 2 from Brighton, what Bows and Gallen have done, is not brought in anybody alone.

Both the West Brom kids, and the Brighton signings will have a friend (or at least someone they know) with them in their new surroundings. It will help them integrate them into the Charlton group.

Spare a thought for poor Tracey Leaburn. She's going to have a late night...

Even though we turned down a bid with 2 min left in the window, does not mean we did not accept one with 5 seconds left. I just don't trust the Rat.
And the club sent me an email about stadium tours at 17.51 - smokescreen?

    They've signed.

Well chuffed with our signings, so much more than I expected. Don't think any other Championship side has done as well as us.

One thing for sure, is we ain't going to lose 6-0 at Hull this time round.

No praise for Roland from me.

He was is and always will be a Wankpuffin.
Without the Dijksteel sale we wouldn't have got them all in.
  • Leko is the closest player we have to Karlan Grant. Pacey and not a striker in the target man sense. With the players we now can call on in midfield I think Leko playing off the shoulder of defenders he could be very effective.

She can’t complain - she’s been able to have her feet up watching Countdown the last few transfer windows.  ;)

Imagine the Brighton lads won't need to move.

The two West Brom lads will think Eltham is paradise after living in West Bromwich.

Jake Forster Caskey will have played alongside them both when he was himself at Brighton?

Hemed and Kayal perms, Matty Taylor on loan. I would cream my pants.
