    I think we'll sell out.
    Should be a given

you know Pompey and Sunderland will sell out and their journey is twice as long as ours by road
Both are one club city clubs with populations of 250k to 300k.

Say 25% support their local clubs then a 3k turnout represents 4% of the fanbase.

Say we have a fan base of 30k the 3k is requiring a 10% turnout.

That makes us probably the best away supported club in England in proportionate terms by my reckoning.

    Well done Charlton

    :-)

What’s our catchment area ? How many teams in London divided by how many millions of people and decent transport infrastructure, throw in Kent as well

    Population of Greenwich 254k
    sunderland 292k
    portsmouth 238k

Charlton have approximately 10 other clubs within 20 miles.

Sunderland and Portsmouth have the scientific "outcast-itis" factor in their favour ie only one other club within 20 miles Newcastle and Southampton respectively for which natives would be shunned for following.

Whereas no one blinks an eye in Charlton and it's immediate environs if locals support successful arsenal, spurs, chelsea or other clubs like west ham glory clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United or in the case of the ne'er do well, criminal element, Millwall.

Charlton fans are more elite in this respect . A 1% of the population carved from a superior element of the gene pool.

Will never have the absolute numbers of other clubs but extrapolated proportionate to our size our following is on par if not bigger relatively to Barcelona and Liverpool.

    Maths don't lie.

Would imagine we’ll get some sort of an idea by this afternoon maybe?  I don’t know what the turnaround is on these things.  With the away leg being next weekend, I can now go, so fingers crossed I can get a ticket

I’m getting my excuse in early , eldest son has a cricket match , wife is away on a girlie night out and 3 other sons to look after .
inlaws are pains in the arse

I've  got to miss the home game but i've got a proper Charlton excuse. I'll be on the Caledonian sleeper to Scotland.
We expect a new thread with extensive review and photos 😉

Five decades of blind faith, cancelled games, soaked to the skin in heavy rain, umpteen season tickets, long haul flights, League 1 football, witnessing Abbot and Costello up front and Karel Fraye on the bench, all for 30 bloody loyalty points.

And I was there in the north-lower gazing up to see where the ball went when Nicky Bailly skyed that penalty.

Already a queue system to purchase online... Always the British way

Sensible though to stop the website from going down if a lot of people like me want to sort their seats early

    https://cafc.queue-it.net/?c=cafc&e=ca05051910am&t=https%3A%2F%2Fbooking.cafc.co.uk%2Fdequeue%3Fchkc%3D1%26next%3D%257e%252f&cid=en-GB
  • Number 900 in the queue for ticket. I think I’ll log back on later to buy my home ticket.
