The worst thing about that defeat is that we have in essence lost our “one point” advantage due to the goal difference being, embarrassingly, torn apart. We need a re/think pronto. This is now concerning.
Only benefit is that I sit next to a Stoke fan at work so still hold some grace in that we (just) above them.
Didn't have much hope with that midfield. There was no presence in midfield. Without Pratley, Bowyer has to stop playing the diamond. Davis needs someone right on his shoulder.
Pathetic... Play players in their correct position. Everyone shit apart from Williams. Been bowyers biggest fan but starting to get the hump with this now he is losing the plot
The team have some soul searching to do now. Defence is poor and we are not creating much which means we are in the poo. However the league is such that we will likely stay in with a shot of staying up until the end.
Problem is with so many loan players will they care enough to push that bit harder to help the team stay in the division?

Funnily we havent... We've one goal better than Hull and Stoke | two better than Huddersfield and Middlesbrough | three better than Wigan
A complete capitulation against a Huddersfield team who have been garbage for most of the season. 2 shocking away games that will have done some serious damage to the confidence of the team and us fans. In serious trouble now.
This result has been on the cards for a while now. Something has to change drastically for us to stay up . We have inexperience both on and off of the pitch.
Time to totally overhaul the defence. Bring in Mingi for pace with Stephenson as back up to Sarr. How old is Touré? Bring back steady seven. Matthews is OK. Back four unless Pratley is available.
We're in huge trouble for the first proper time this season. We have been on a slide for a while, but as soon as we conceded the second, all the confidence was gone and we seemed to even lack any real fight.
We created a couple of half decent chances but that was it. A horrible, horrible week up north.
Teams around us are all picking up results and we continue to slide down.
Lots need to change if we are to survive this and many of the points on players I make are not the problem but things don't help.
Doughty needs to come out the side, if Purrington gave the ball away as much as he has done recently and been out of position as much as he has been, he'd be getting pelters. He needs a break and we need someone who is more defensively sound.
Pearce is not Championship quality, whatever way you want to dress it up. He wasn't terrible today, but he's not up to this level.
Lapslie is decent as an impact sub, but not good enough to start. Positionally, decision making, and technically on the ball he is not to this level.
McGeady, was excited when he joined. Complete waste of time.
Taylor today looked pissed off and completely frustrated at the lack of quality around him.
Wigan will stay up at this rate, they have so many games against teams around us that they will pick up enough points to stay up. We have to get a win next Saturday, and then away at Hull, because anything less and we will slowly move further and further away and will be struggling with any kind of confidence.
The other worrying thing is that we haven't won two or more games in a row since August. Therefore, we can never ever get any kind of momentum. And that momentum is so key for any kind of run in to either go up or stay up. Other clubs have that momentum where we are struggling with anything week to week.
Completely gutted and signing off here for a little while.
On and off the pitch at just the wrong time. There’s no denying we are sinking into a very difficult situation.
We've lost our way and had a dire 4 days. It’s going to trigger the flip-floppers and ranters across social media and guarantee a week’s worth of doom and negativity ahead.
As depressed as I am right now, we are not ‘doomed’, nor ‘down’, as many will noisily be saying. There are ten games left and there are a whole host of other twists and turns still ahead in this season, that I’m sure. Look how Barnsley, Wigan and Luton have changed in the last couple of weeks. That will all evolve again.
We need to suck it up, keep our heads and get massively up for next Saturday’s game. It’s a huge one.
So Im going to put my fingers in my ears to it for the next few days and take myself off to the coronavirus thread to cheer myself up!
I was promised that once we had all our players back we would piss up the league. What now.
This. Might have been better to have sold Taylor for £4m & brought in 3 or 4 players for £1m each.
I said about a month ago that I hope that the trio of Cullen, Williams & Taylor have big shoulders as everyone was putting a lot of faith in them keeping us up once they were all back.
I think it boils down to not the above 3 but a single person. The manager. Not sure he really knows what he is doing & needs to go away & re-think if he can get us out of this mess.
Just in the car on the way home, that was shocking, from front to back, passing was shit, movement was shit, no-one looked interested and none of them looked like they had ever met each other.
So in summary, 4 hours each way, team didnt turn up and we had to stand there, in the grim'est of Norhern outposts getting pelters from spotty, underfed, Burberry scarf wearing Northern halfwits whilst waiting for one of our pampered underperforming loanees to post a social media message with a pumped fist saying 'we go again' Fuck the lot of them
@SoundAsa£ interested to hear why I'm a 'tool' for calling Southall a charlatan on the match thread. In my opinion, the bloke has done fuck all but soak up the adulation of fans and post shit on twitter about his super duper deal ohone. Maybe you feel he's done something more worthy?
Feel for LB as I think he’s doing the best with what he’s got available, but we are looking rank at the moment. I think we’ll end up in the relegation places before end of the season and will just have to hope it’s the shot in the arm the squad need to pull themselves out of the mire.
For what it’s worth there’s not been many games this season where I feel there’s been a lack of effort from the team, and to be fair I don’t think there was any lack of effort from the team today but we just lack quality so much. Other than Taylor we don’t really have a player who can turn a game on their head meaning when we go a goal down we really struggle.
Still got total trust in LB, could see things getting worse before they get better but I think if I’d been offered 21st place at the start of the season I’d have taken it. Teams below us seem to be hitting form but a lot of teams around us and slightly above are in a rut and just got to hope there’s three worse teams at the end of the season.
I've been in the positive camp......until today. We gave them a goal by stupid defending when WE had the ball. Gave it a bit of a go at the beginning of the 2nd half, but when they scored again, we sounded as though we just gave up.....I'm sorry to say that if Boro beat Forest on Monday night, it will give them a boost and the double-whammy will be that we will be in the bottom 3 come 10 pm Monday and when they arrive at The Valley next week they'll have the confidence to turn us over. Best outcome for us would be Forest ripping Boro a new one and then they'll come to us still in the bottom 3 and wont have the confidence a win will give them. This is a HUGE few days, and will, in my opinion, set the story for the final games of the season. LB/JJ have a big job to do this week....or I fear we'll be back in L1 next season. As for ESI, I've been their supporter, but Im even now asking why they didn't invest a bit more in January.
When Southall came in we were at least 6 points above the relegation, all we needed was 3/4 championship level players, instead, we got has-beens and cast offs
Have any of the players we have brought in actually done anything in any of the games. Only Green has done something & I reckon he was coming in ESI or not as Leko needed to be replaced.

We lose next week and we’ll drop.
Looks like we will need to beat Millwall as part of that which is impossible
Pearce is a busted flush.

Whi else were we going to play today?
Apparently!
