Still not getting very involved in goal celebrations though.

And I’m still not convinced about his choice of pizza toppings.

As my man Marcus Maddison, who I have wanted at Cafc every since I saw him play for Gateshead in the Conference as a 20 year old left winger,( said so on CL when I first joined) I got great satisfaction in his performance yesterday as the free role is ideal for MM as he can play right, left or centre, and once he finds his shooting boots in a game will score a cluster of goals from around the box.

I don't care that I have nothing in common with him other than we both want him to be a success for Cafc.

Might have been mistaken, but I thought he was the first one over to Washington and seemed really fired up.

I just hope he now gets a run in the starting 11 and he can consistently show his stuff. If he can only good things ahead for him and us

He’s just being conscious of the rules of social distancing so another reason to appreciate him.

I don't understand why you'd feel sorry for him. He's young, fit and wealthy. If he's on his own this Christmas it's his choice.

Starting to look more like the player we were hoping for. Some quality balls into the box today. Also thought there were two or three occasions where he could've rightfully let rip at teammates for not passing to him, but kept quite calm which surprised me a bit.

Eh how does being young healthy or wealthy make a difference to how many friends or family you have?

That'd be a silly comment in any year, but in 2020 after the government announcement today............what planet are you living on?

No. It's because like many people, his relationship broke down. His family live outside his county and tier.

It must be fucking horrible to not spend Christmas with your children. Especially with how shit this year has been for everyone already.

    What a stupid comment.
The point I was trying to make was that he might want to be alone rather than being forced to be (I'd be pretty pissed off getting pity postings in that situation). Anyway if you want to read what I wrote in any other way be my guest.
  • That's terrible to hear. He's one of our players and it would be good for him to hear some support. I sat next to some Neanderthals in the East stand at the Don's game who kept abusing him even when he was playing well. I feel sorry for the lad. He has had a shit year and will be sat alone in a hotel room or rented flat on Xmas Day. You cant beat the magic of being around young kids at Christmas. It must choke him up to be apart from his daughter. A few kind words might make all the difference. Pity CL couldn't find a way to organise a way of getting this to him.

I expect and hope one of the other players would have him round at Christmas.

They work in the same bubble, so no reason why they can't socialise in that same bubble. Can't see this group letting anyone stay on their own.

Spot on @Talal. He's seeing how bad some attacking decisions that are being made are, and not losing his rag which surprised.

On the highlights for the chance that Bogle spurned, look at the run of Maddison, pointing where he wants the ball from Watson, the chest control and first time whip into an area that is a strikers dream. That was excellent.

That's not the message your comment put across. In fact it reads very differently.

He's mentioned his pain of not seeing his daughter enough this year already... I don't get why you think he'd want to be home alone without his daughter.

Presume you’re trying to being funny, otherwise a completely unnecessary comment.

I don't know anything about his relationship with his daughter and the post I replied to didn't mention it either. You're putting a spin on what I said that wasn't there despite my clarification. Believe me or not it's up to you.

I'm just thinking back to recent games. MM has put so many chances on a plate for our forwards/midfielders who have failed to convert. Starting from the move to Pratley hitting the bar from an open goal, strikers not getting on the end of a squared cross, Bogle's swipe in last game.

Now he's getting fitter, he's moved on from the player shooting from anywhere to creating some chances from nothing. Still a lot more to refine/offer, but also we need to start burying some these.

Definitely, a lot of goals we've converted have involved him in the build up at least as well, even if he's not getting the assist, he's often the secondary assist or whatever people call it. Hopefully if Shwartz comes in he'll have a better conversion rate.
  • I think that now we have seen him getting the assist of the assist shows that he is reigning it in a bit and not always looking for that wonder pass.

I know not everything goes right for him when he gets the ball, but for me behind Chuks, he is the most exciting player we have. Tentively it looks like it is starting to click for him. Hope he gets a goal and assist in the league soon as think it will do him a whole load of good.
  • He's certainly getting better each game now. He put a lovely cross in across the goal during the last game that was begging for someone to tap it in but no one did.

Hopefully he will be one of the 1st players on the starting sheet moving forward and he can gel into the team. He is without doubt our best creative player some of the balls he lays off are fantastic and all it needs is for the other players to start to get used to the balls arriving

I feel for whoever's putting Bogle's Christmas dinner on the plate!
