    Woodburn blazes over the bar.
I still can't decide if that was an intentional pun...

Get Chuks and Williams and Maatsen on for Washington, Pratley and Doughty and play some goddamned football
Just the first two if you don't want to make the triple change
  • Zero positives from that first half. Saying that was Pathetic would be being nice.

Absolute dull and so boring. Can someone pipe in some booing into the dressing room.
  • At least we can’t play him on Saturday now.
    And hopefully never again.

“Brain dead”, “stupid”, “idiot prick” all imply Purrington forgot he was on a yellow card and committed a needless foul.

Not the case at all. He knew the circumstances. He just isn’t good enough at football.
Hamilton wasn't in? We had cover in the middle. So yeah it was brain-dead. He didn't need to foul. Just let him go.
The next nearest player was deep inside our own area, Hamilton would’ve had a free run into a very dangerous position to take a shot on goal.

    ”Idiot Purrington should’ve fouled him!”
  • So flat it's unreal, no cutting edge, so slow and defensive.

It was like with 11vs10 we was still scared to play out of our own half unless it was a long ball.

No excuses Bowyer sort it out
No Blackpool simply went deep and put nine men behind the ball

Meant Bogle has had no space to get in behind as we saw in the early half and with Charlton players playing musical statues there was no one to try and play a pass to

The only good thing about Purrington going off is the fact that Blackpool should come forward more now so will hopefully open themselves back up again
  • Not good enough

A negative team selection meant that we couldn't take advantage of having an extra man for 40 minutes, summed up by that Blackpool corner where we didn't leave anyone up for the counter attack. Lots of passing between the back 4 and 2 defensive midfielders, with too many times a hoof over the top the outcome
  • Frustrated that there was no change in formation when Blackpool went down to 10, and then it was obvious the Purrington would foul their winger who was to fast for him. Not great management by Bowyer.
  • I'm going to guess....

JFC for Washington half time change
Smyth for Shinnie - around 65mins

Play for the draw now I guess. Shame we couldn't take advantage but hey ho.

We played for the draw from the start - and didn't change it to take advantage of the extra man.

    Wasted opportunity.

  • Have a feeling were going to see Bogle with his hands on his head quite a bit this season.
    Doubt it, he'll probably miss.
  • Is Washington playing? I think I heard his name mentioned once.

As for Purrington - what an idiot 😡
  • This is pretty appalling. 11 v 10 for much of it, and not a single shot on target. Watson much better today, but midfield isn’t showing much creativity. Have hardly seen Washington. Bogle at least looking dangerous.

    Literally nobody would've said that.
  • Knew that ref would even things up have a feeling he ain't done yet, first time for him I believe for league one came up from lower divisions trying to make his mark.
The ref didn't even things up. Purrington did it for him.

I'm starting to think all of the previous shite he has had to put up with has affected LB's judgement. He should have changed things once they were down to 10 men and gone for the throat. He is being far to afraid imo. He needs to get back to letting the opposition worry about us and not so much us them
Yes, I think he slightly lost his mojo when the team started struggling last season and is still in that slightly negative mindset as if we were playing Fulham or Leeds

Its not like we've had chances though is it - Honestly whats this fascination with a shot on target if it doesnt go in

Its just as wasteful, if not more so as a shot off target

You don't think a clean sheet away from home is a positive?

  • So it's all even at half-time. Bowyer to develop a cunning plan.
  • Don't think it was that bad, we've played some nice football in patches and have dominated the game.
It doesn't matter how well you play or how pretty it looks......the only thing that matters is that you score more goals than your opponent.

Scoring goals is just something we can't do. 1 goal in 3 & a half games and nothing to say that is going to change.
  • Do our central defenders need the protection of two defensive midfielders?

I don’t know because I’m not watching the game.

How do you play for a draw? We need three points anyway.
Fatal if you go even more defensive than we already are. Guarantee we lose one nil if we do.
  • What a prick Purrington is always gonna happen total dickhead
  • Have a feeling were going to see Bogle with his hands on his head quite a bit this season.
So he is the Bonne replacement ;)

No arguments with the red. Purrington simply could not live with the pace and then hauled Hamilton down as he got in behind. Yeah we had cover but not nearby.

No tactical adjustment was made to help Purrington out on Hamilton. I was screaming at the telly for Watson to cover where Hamilton was inevitably going to run - down the line - and he just hovered around. Not blaming Watson whatsoever as it meant he'd be out of position and you have to have faith in your full back to defend one on one, but Purrington had been burned so many times already.

Bowyer should have switched something up to try and press the advantage early before they had a chance to consolidate. He didn't, we now also have ten, and we go again.

    Big 45 ahead.
Couldnt agree more... Its a shame as Purrington going forward had been pretty decent today

One effort into the side netting and a great ball to Bogle in the first minute - More than what others have done
  • That was pathetic - they virtually gifted us the game and instead of slowing it down and making them knacker themselves out pressing us we try to play at 150mph and inevitably lose possession.  Meanwhile moronic Purrington gets sent off himself.
