Ultimately, I’m just glad we’ve still got a club to support and an owner with some sanity and ambition. Anything above half way this season is a bonus as far as i’m concerned. But, my christ, we are bloody dreadful at present. This a an awful league but its quite shocking that we look entirely at home in it. The fact that we’re still in the top 6 despite only really playing well a handful of times speaks volumes. I don’t know whether it’s the perpetual squad rotation, the impact of our injuries or what, but we seem to lack any sense of cohesion or style. When teams press us we only have one alternative - backwards, backwards, long ball launched up to Chuks. No movement, no angles, no passing through the lines.Credit today goes to Amos, Pearcey (great to have him back), Maatsen (the kid is quality) and Bogle for launching the attack that led to our goal. Other than that, all a bit too ordinary.I understood why Bowyer brought on Adam Matthews but taking off Jonny Williams was an odd decision. He’s not great defensively but he had made some good runs and surely would have been more sensible to take off the tiring Washington.Just got to hope we find a way to bring in 2 or 3 much higher quality players in January and that, together with the return of injured players (we don’t half miss Doughty’s pace) will make a difference. Until then, I think it’s mainly down to grit and determination to gain enough points to keep us in contention.25

Haven’t ever been an overly big fan of bowyer as manager- and his tactics have proved somewhat inconsistent throughout.
constantly changes the starting 11, to the point where he clearly has no idea who his best 11 are.
the subs are dismal and baffling at times- to the point where it just comes off as ‘shit or bust’
overall gameplay today (and the last 5 weeks or so) has been so dreary and poor that we’ve managed to win a few and that sees us in the potion we are in today.
realistically, we aren’t a top 6 team - and we are very much clinging onto that spot regardless of what people think! To take 4 points from the last few games (and opponents) is totally turgid , and is mid table if not relegation form.Have no idea where the goals are going to come from, and certainly no idea where the points will come next!
im only somewhat ‘bowyer out’, purely because the whole playing/managing side needs a complete refresh- new ideas and new tactics!4 -
When we played under bowyer in his first season, we had such good ball retention and played without fear. Remember the pass and move that lead to our first goal in his second season in the playoff final. Drawing to Shrewsbury away when they are in the relegation zone isn’t cool but bowyer has pretty much run our club for years now - give it time.

In all honesty, I would have been more disappointed with the 3 points. That was pathetic.

We’re desperately lacking any pace upfront to stretch these games. Bowyer’s tactics have ALWAYS been reliant on pace upfront and owing to injuries we have had none in the last few games. ITS a MUST for early January.
He’s made a few strange decisions recently, but anyone calling for a change of manager needs their heads checking and needs to stop thinking as Charlton fans we a have a divine right to win every game in League 1. The mess left by previous regimes just can’t be sorted in a couple of months.Everyone just needs a bit of patience.4 -
Worried for all those that kept lumping on automatic promotion1
-
Well we didn't lose which I felt was possible looking at the stsrting line up. I think the wheels are coming off a tiny bit but this league is so appalling we should be able to maintain top 6.....but will TS invest in January or will he run out of patience with LB... Next few matches will probably determine that but LB has to settle the team down and not be so negative.4

I'm not calling for Bowyer out, that's a ridiculous call at this moment in time, but if he doesn't hold his hands up I'll be pissed off. He's quick enough to start slagging off players for not giving 100%, let's say him admit his mistakes.3

I hope I'm wrong.1 -

Very boring hoping we could have held out for an undeserved win. Amos deserves credit for his performance. Last 5 minutes was something you would see in amateur football. The decision to substitute Williams was strange. Kept saying that we didn’t win it would come back to bite Bowyer in the arse. Bowyer has had a bad month, Burton performance, comments on Wednesday and that sub of Williams. Starting to think it could be the beginning of the end for Bowyer.1

We went on a great run at one point in October, it showed what we could achieve and there were times like against Fleetwood where we weren't just papering over the cracks - For some reason we've all returned since Gillingham thinking that we've got a god given right to win this league. Its not as costly if the fans want to continue thinking that but the players certainly need to stop
Enough of the shit, thinking its only Burton, its only Milton Keynes, its only Shrewsbury
We should be beating these teams blah blah blah... We're at the same level for a bloody reason so the players especially, get used to it and quickly else we're going to be down here for a lot longer than what we want to be again!!!
If teams turn up and we don't win then fair enough, but any decent League 1 team would have beaten Shrewsbury today. Bowyer is getting more and more negative, invites pressure and we get what we deserved. We had excuses last season but it happened regularly, we can't do that again this season.
Rightly the fans cant do much to change things so can in a way be more disrespectful to other clubs, however much I dont like it... The players on the other hand have barely changed their way of playing since we returned after Gillingham and it really feels like they're not respecting other clubs...
First half it was sluggish and not enough movement, Washington would win the ball pass it for JFC to run on to and he'd just stand there - Morgan and Williams came on and there was suddenly more urgency but it shouldn't need to take that long
I just dont get how the players can go from one level against Ipswich / Portsmouth etc. where we can make them look mugs, yet suddenly against the ordinary teams they're struggling and I'm beginning to wonder if they are thinking its too easy; Gunter and Watson especially who havent ever played at this level before - Regardless if that is the case then it needs to stop... If they think these teams should be a walk in the park then do just that, put them to the bloody sword and move on!!!4 -

But the speed at which our fans turn on our manager alarms me. It always does, but even more so with this one.1 -
Remember how last season a few of us pointed out when we were top 6 that xG was showing we were actually close to relegation-level quality? And everyone was like... "Nahhhh, we are top six, xG is rubbish!" And then we wound up being relegated?
I guess now is the time to show how we looked even before today... We have been the most outperforming club in L1. Eventually, xG shows that mirage will end... Don't kill the messenger!

I’m afraid that’s LB fault with didn’t get the 3pts today because of his tactics, even though we didn’t deserve to win. Our play is so slow and predictable and we need more pace in the side especially in midfield.
PS please can we send back Bogle.3 -

Absolute Shit show by Bowyer there. What the hell was that line up, 4 midfielders who all can't run with the ball. He than finally brings on Williams we score than takes him off ffs how pathetic. If your going to go defensively against a team who did absolutely nothing going forward until you invited them to than take off a fucking striker.8

Eg. How many free kicks did he actually win when he went down?0 -
Williams wasn't injured. Taken off because he "pulled out of a challenge". Absolute BS from Bows and more shifting the blame elsewhere.
You got it wrong today Lee, just accept it.14 -
What a load of shit.
I would have been annoyed even if we had won.
Negative, not just this game though. We looked like we knew we didn't deserve to win so continue with the shit.
We have a strong squad, we cant give these teams as much respect. I'm blaming Bowyer and although I want to stick with him, this division is terrible we have to get out of it. LB will be under pressure soon, if this crap continues.2 -

I dunno what is, probably not being able to attend games, but I’m really struggling to connect with this group of players. The CP promotion team and the Cullen/ Bielik side seemed much more relatable in a way. Players like Gilbey, Watson, Washington don’t really float my boat if you know what I mean. It’s all a bit bland.11
-
Not good, no excuses, pleased we got a point, Amos quality, we maybe should have lost that match.
Good to have Akin and Pearcey back.2 -
Gunter cost us two points but they would have been stolen points. Bowyer is too negative. It was clear from the end of last season. Taking Williams off sends a message to both sets of players. If there were 7 minutes added time we would have lost that.
For those that say we are showing a lack of respect to Bowyer, and he could have walked and left us in it last season, I suppose they are right. He could have left and we got relegated.....
If I was Sandgaard I would give him December to show he can get the team actually playing an attacking game and overpowering teams. All those that reckon we should respect Burton and Shrewsbury, you deserve the crap we are being served up.1 -
5 matches since the break, of which we've only played well in 1 of them.
Really turgid stuff in attack, our passing wasn't incisive, we had no aerial threat and our set pieces were garbage
That last 15 was like a small club hanging on to a lead against one of the big boys, backs to the ball, no composure and thanks to our lack of pace, no danger of Shrewsbury being caught on the break which made life so much easier for them. Is they anyone in the U23s with a bit of pace - with 5 subs allowed, surely we could do worse than have a speedy striker or winger on the bench for situations like this?
