It’ll be interesting if other clubs take a similar approach.

Will we then see players forced into getting vaccinated just so they can get a job?

Is this being replicated in other sports such as rugby? It seems like all the focus is on football atm…

rugby players are generally more intelligent and therefore vaccinated….

I was watching Frieburg v Leverkusen in the Bundesliga just before the Spurs match and it was behind closed doors, then turned over to a match live from the Covid capital of Europe and there were 60,000 in attendance. Interesting times we live in.

Serious terrorist alerts don't stop people using he tube or going to football matches.

In fact, people are encouraged to carry on as normal. Maybe the same thing is happening here?

For quite a whole now Germany have had tougher rules than us. You have to wear masks, you can't go to bars or restaurants or non-essential shops unless vaccinated, reduced capacities at stadiums all of this season, and now they've moved to no fans at all.

Yesterday they had 127 deaths and here in the UK we had 45.

Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Boxing Day’s clash with Stoke City at Oakwell has been postponed.

Our opponents have informed the EFL this Monday lunchtime that they will be unable to fulfil the fixture this Boxing Day (Sunday 26 December) due to an ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 amongst their playing squad and support staff.

I see the The Premiership have the priorities right.......games go ahead over xmas but FA Cup replays are to be scrapped this year.

So lower league clubs who get a draw against a big side instead of a replay that could net them hundreds of thousands of pounds it will instead be decided on the day.

    Well played chaps.

The EFL can confirm that its programme of games in the League and Carabao Cup will continue with fixtures to be played where it is safe to do so, and the set squad criteria can be fulfilled by Clubs.

While the League acknowledges there will likely be future postponements to navigate where Covid-19 cases are identified, there is optimism that disruption can be minimised following implementation of RED protocols, a daily testing regime and ongoing vaccination rollout.

The Premier League also confirmed to its clubs today that 92 per cent of players and club staff have received one, two or three COVID-19 vaccination doses, with 84 per cent of players on the vaccination journey.

Not as bad as first thought then. I wonder if ‘peer pressure’ will kick in for the remaining 16%?

So presumably, if we don't follow suit, the supporters of Cardiif, Wrexham, Swansea and Newport will be able to watch their teams on the road, but not at home.

Assume that must mean our festive games are in doubt then?

If we're not training then surely the games won't go ahead.

Not good news. Having cases so late in the week (Friday) it was always likely that infected players travelled down to Plymouth

Club are trying to get the Boxing Day game off apparently. Surely this will include the Gillingham game?

Might be worth making a new thread on this, so more people are aware?

Why? We did similar last year and here we are going into 2022.

Football’s been going on a while now and it hasn’t led to a massive spike in deaths. Just postpone games if and when needed.
We are going into lockdown in a week anyway, really need 2 more fixtures of 1000s fans traveling up and down the country ? What is the point, Swansea have pulled fans and that the correct thing to do imo.

Fuck sake. That will really spoil the festive period. Charlton on Boxing Day is a massive part of our family's plans

People practically begging for a lockdown at this point.
Do these weirdos not realise they can stay in their house forever if they want without the government telling them to?
How about do things to try and avoid it ?

    ...I guess not
