If we don’t win almost all of these I think the bell will toll for Bowyer
The Rochdale result probably saved his job, it was certainly enough to make sure he was here to see put the transfer window and probably ended our hopes for the season.
Which is all wrong. 2-4 down at half time to Rochdale is a joke.
  • Can we have #sackingtheboss too?
  • I think we have a decent chance of winning on Saturday. What we have to find is a way to win at the Valley.

    #bossbowyerbooboys
  • If we fail this season, 100% Bowyer won’t be here next season. I think that’s a given.

    .
Define failure. I never expected anything from this season.
Failure to make play offs imo
I heard an interview with Steve Gallen and he said that the aim at the start of the season was a play off place. So yeah, you are right, that would be deemed a failure. I personally think that anything other than automatic promotion is a a failure.
    Are you a millionaire?
  • Harmony.
    It's a beautiful word...say it.
    Let's get some harmony back.
  • We won’t go up with Bowyer in charge and a salary cap .
If the cap goes he’ll have a chance , if he’s still here .
I believe we have a squad good enough to reach the play offs but to do that now will take a good effort due to the underperforming so far .

  • Cap or no cap the question is has he lost it?
No he has not in my opinion and fans questioning salary and pay offs, is not only rude its also disrespectful.
Let's all put our yearly salary up if it's OK to discuss.
Bow will walk before he is pushed trust me. He don't need the money
  • If we have Schwartz and Washington up front it would be a waste of time playing quick more speculative balls generally to where they are, but it is a different kettle of fish with Stockley and Aneke. And if the ball falls to Millar he doesn't muck about.
It’s definitely time to take advantage of having these 4 strikers. No longer do we have to attack in one way, there’s multiple options depending on who the 2 on the pitch are. In league 1 this is superb to be able to change your way of attack so quickly during a game. Hopefully it works out soon with finding the best 2 to start and not changing them at HT.

Considering what our club has been through in the last 12 months (not even going in to the previous 6 years), what makes you expect automatic promotion this season?

Yes, but only the un feathered ones. 😊
  • Groundhog Day was 2 days ago.
  • Rochdale (A) (18th place)
    Gillingham (H) (13th place)
    Fleetwood (A) (15th place)
    Burton (H) (24th place)
    Blackpool (H) (12th place)

The above are all winnable games against opposition below us in the table (current standings as of today). Some may say anything less than ten points and Bowyer’s fate will be sealed. The test starts on Saturday.

Compare our squad to Lincoln’s who are currently P2 in the table and it doesn’t seem quite so unreasonable
  • I noticed that Chelsea seem to be playing well again. I don’t think Frank was doing a bad job but the change seems to have released fresh energy into the players.

Spurs on the other hand remind me of us. Surely it’s only a matter of time for Jose?
  • Bowyer is here because of location location location imo suits his and his family ....
To pull him away from here he’d need it to be monetarily worthwhile .

If Charlton upped sticks and moved to Birmingham I’d doubt he’d be flying up the motorway to be with us .

How are you comparing the squads to make that judgement?

Sure we have lots of players that have played higher or are more famous but it doesn’t mean they are right now better than Lincoln’s players.

It’s not just about signing the most famous players Gunter or Watson for example. Most of our players are either too old or too young it’s also about combinations and specific attributes among many things.

I find it insulting to Lincoln and Accrington who have built young hungry teams over a period of time through good planning that our fans just assume our team should be better
Our Championship standard players are better than their League 1 cloggers... until some of Lincoln’s squad sign for us... then they become ambitious and exciting young players who are upgrades on our current squad... who will become overrated has beens.

    What?

And remind me ... who are our Championship standard players?  Based on performance rather than reputation, please.

Dreamland is in Margate, Scoham ... not SE7.

Just find the cycle some go through when judging players and squads amusing.

They look at the relatively big names in our squad and assume they’re better than the players we’ve never heard of at a smaller club like Lincoln.

In their eyes there’s no way Lincoln wouldn’t jump at the chance to swap one their midfielders for Ben Watson.

Yet when we sign players who were at a smaller club the perception instantly changes, for example Smith and Jaiyesimi. They are no longer seen as nobodies at Swindon, they’re exciting young players.

If Watson joins Swindon or Lincoln in the summer he’ll be seen as a poor player.

I agree with you - judge players and teams on performance, not reputation. Lincoln and Accrington are doing well, especially considering the size of their clubs. Clearly they’ve recruited well and probably have a few players Gallen will be keeping an eye on, thinking ahead to the summer.
