We spent all of last season saying we'd be fine when players return. How did that play out?
Our players never returned. We lost our most important player in Conor Gallagher in January and then our best striker refused to play out the rest of the season. Even then, in a season where survival was our only aim because of our squad put together out of free transfers and loans, we went down via a last minute goal when a team in the Play-Offs shat themselves against Barnsley. When we were talking about how we'd be fine when our best players returned I don't think any of us envisioned a final day front two of Davison and Bonne.
I don't disagree with you, but we slipped from upper mid table to relegation without much panic, because we always had players to come back. Are we guaranteed we'll get the Inniss/Famewo partnership back this season? No.
My point is, we had so many games being labelled as 'free hits' last year, due to a long injury list, that we never addressed the poor performances. I think we're guilty of doing the same thing this season.
"We'll be better when xxxx is back", why don't we focus on getting better without them?

This is the problem with social media that we have to deal with now. Just because he was very vocal and answering every single tweet, and private message while he was trying to take over and for a while after he took over, people seem to want constant updates on behind the scenes of the club.
I don’t understand how being quiet on Twitter makes people wonder things. Just let Sandgaard and his new team get on with things.
With the pitch we were coping with it with the players we had on. It takes ages to adjust coming on. However, I don’t want to see Pearce play again anytime soon. It actually embarrassing how he lets the ball bounce. I feel like it’s the end of our season. Too many teams around us with games in hand. Such a shame as the standard this year in the league is so poor.
Don't forget Bowyer in his post match interview, said he was looking for a CB.
Charlton are described as a 'team of cloggers' by their local paper. I wonder how many hours of training is dedicated to screaming every time on of them was tackled, soft feckers.

In the last 9 games we got a reasonable 9 points Barnsley got 15, with the gods on their side as they beat Forest and Brentford with injury time winners as their opponents chased the 3 points Luton got 16. Indeed Luton lost only 1 of their last 12 matches.
Okay, Barnsley got lucky with a 95th minute breakaway, immediately after the opposition had just hit the post - in both their last 2 games.
But nobody got luckier than Luton on that last day.
They won 3-2 ........ but Blackburn gave them 2 own goals; the ref gifted them a non-penalty ..... and the player taking it slipped over and totally mis-kicked but flukily, somehow it still went in just under the bar.
It must have been written in the stars that Charlton were to be relegated!

In terms of Pearce. I think it would need a bit of an autopsy to decide whether he was to blame for the first, whether it was Deji or a combination of both. I would add that as captain and the experienced partner, he has a greater responsibility to take control of the situation, but it isn't clear.
What is clearer is that he dragged a player back first half and got off lightly and did similar in the second half when the ref didn't even give a free kick. It is clear that at the moment, and it could be that he isn't up to speed following his injury, he is the weak link in the chain and an accident waiting to happen.

I don't know whether his legs have gone or whether he's struggling after his injury absence, but as you noticed it's clear that he's having to grapple more and more to try and deal with attackers

Dubious penalty......WTF.......he clearly had his shirt pulled, no if’s or but’s. It matters not how much he was held back or impeded but that his shirt WAS pulled at all. Penalty.........no question whatsoever as both Curbs and Scotty confirmed without a second thought.

Also agree re the second goal, nothing anyone could have done after Shinnies attempted pass back didn't have the legs, however the blame for the first goal has to be shared between Deji and Pierce, after the bounce fell just short of them, they both went for the same ball leaving their guy free on goal, Pierce has certainly lost his pace, so, asap please Akin and Ryan

As I have said on here so many times, he has at least 1 very bad mistake in him every single match which we can't afford. I dread him coming in for a tackle or trying to play hospital balls at the back and yet I seem to be alone in my criticism of him. If I had the time, I'd pull together a montage of his atrocious defending - starting at the back end of last season - to prove my point. Fine, carry on playing him if I'm in the wrong. Don't expect us to win many games this season though. Certainly, any half-decent attacking teams will have a field day with him in our central defence. I'm done watching the live streams whilst this bad patch continues. My poor wife is sick of my depression after watching us throw away victory after victory.

As AFKABartram said yesterday, I genuinely feel like our club is cursed given all the crap and unfortunate timings (e.g. the wage cap when we have a minted owner for once) that seem to come in waves throughout the years.

For what it's worth, I don't think he's good enough to play regularly in a promotion winning team. As a 3rd/4th choice CB, I think he's fine. It's not his fault that Inniss and Famewo are injured, but generally speaking he's taken his chance the last few weeks.

We didnt test them enough compared to other games, but those two things ignored by the ref... Oh my days!!
