  • Both goals Peterborough scored were a joke, why leave ourself open to a break like that when we are winning away, totally unprofessional.

Awful pitch, terrible ref who just let players cheat and get away with it. Felt like I was watching two Sunday league teams on a Sunday league pitch with a Sunday league ref.

  • I’m done paying 10 quid a game to watch this shit....awful league look at that shit pitch. Puts me in a bad mood after. The VP coverage has been good not matched by the product on the pitch. Feel embarrassed for Curbs analyzing this crap
  • We were more than competitive first half, but as the game wore on we seemed to physically compete less and less. Last twenty mins I reckon the winning header count was 30-0 to them. Every throw on we had or every long ball or diagonal they won in the air.
  • At least we competed throughout although the subs did nothing for us (other than make us worse) and probably wrong pitch for some of them. As @cafctom said nought - nought would have been fair.

I love Pearcy but he is struggling.
  • From a perfect performance, first half - to the usual piss poor ‘all fart’ Charlton in the last 35!

Fed up of the constant errors and mistakes, especially as we have no way to nullify them at the other end of the pitch!

Not really bowyers fault, but arguably what is he doing bringing Williams, Gilbey and shinnie on - in a game that is scrappy and physical!

2 shots on target all game, which initially hinted at a real smash and grab win. Just can’t see where the points are going to come from anymore!

pearce at fault, twice doing the same thing - only one led to a goal. I get he’s experienced and the captain, but his constant gun-ho attitude to lofted balls and not allowing his teammates to do their job is disastrous!

all had a good game, other than Pearce really.

just don’t know where we go from here...
no chance this team , in its current state is going to finish anywhere near playoffs let alone top 8. Teams around us all picking up points, and we’re slipping away!

Dejected, annoyingly after being so positive at HT!
  • Peterborough were the 'better' team but we created the better chances, and up until we made our subs I thought we were going to win. If it was not for some classic Charlton defending we would have as well.

I'm feeling a little more confident about the season moving forwards now. Got to stick with this formation, or the diamond, and get Innis and Famewo back in and we will be okay.

    Trust me.

  • Deserved a point from that one, but we crucified ourselves making stupid mistakes. We fell to pieces after a decent enough first half and never showed any sort of attacking threat. Only real positive was getting some minutes into Shinnie although fuck knows what he was doing for their second goal and taking JFC was a bit stupid in hindsight

  • I am not being critical but Apart from two poor mistakes, why the fuck do we put 2 strikers on when we are 2-1 Down and not at half time.
still desperately needing our two top defenders,
I thought we deserved a point so a disappointing result.

Dodgy bounce for their first. Yes a cock up with two players jumping but a dodgy bounce all the same. Second was just typical of us losing possession needlessly and getting punished for it, which we don't seem to do to other teams enough. I do feel that once Famewo and or Innis are back we'll be back to winning ways while showing a good level of consistency. Pissed off with the result of course, but I don't think we've seen the best of us yet this season.
  • Just unlucky, lost to a long ball merchant team, if players don't make mistake they don't score. Although tbf I don't think we had another goal in us either, 0-0 probably would have been fair.

No need to overreact, plenty of points to play for, based on recent showings and players coming back I reckon we will finish in the top6
  • Where was the shape in the 2nd half? Looked like Bowyer sent subs out without any instructions for them or the rest of the team on the pitch.

The rest of league are going pull away soon and we spend the rest of the season wondering if we are touching distance of 6th.

But its ok, the bowyer in brigade have their win at Bristol Rovers. Good for them.
  • With the pitch we were coping with it with the players we had on. It takes ages to adjust coming on. However, I don’t want to see Pearce play again anytime soon. It actually embarrassing how he lets the ball bounce. I feel like it’s the end of our season. Too many teams around us with games in hand. Such a shame as the standard this year in the league is so poor.
  • Was really impressed for the first 60mins... That was a proper Charlton performance where they worked hard not just for themselves but for each other - As I said at half-time, we did to Peterborough what so many teams have done to us this season, put them under pressure, forced them into mistake after mistake that we couldnt capitalise on.

Another individual error though changed that, was pretty much perfect timing for Peterborough, we were preparing to bring on Aneke and Schwartz, subbing our two Strikers who'd put their back line under such pressure and suddenly it was lifted for their Centre-Backs which allowed the game to be even more end to end rather than their aimless balls lumped forward

Then on those who came on couldnt lift themselves to the pace of the game meaning Peterborough were able to see the game out with ease; would certainly agree with Leuth tonight... Bogle put in a proper shift, sometimes kept the ball too long but made life uncomfortable for them; Aneke on the other hand made it too easy for their CBs who appeared to prefer a battle rather than focusing on winning the ball.

My only other complaint was the referee, never seen so many favourable 50/50 going one way, let alone the ridiculous bookings we received rather than the more dangerous tackles we were having to deal with!!

No blame on Bowyer there. Suicidal play. Gunter heads it into a gap in the goal (I thought he was an experienced international) and its 2-0, I'm still screaming at the tv and it's 1-1.

Pitch was terrible and you couldn't pass on it. It suited Pratley. Smyth had no product. Best I've seen Washington and Bogle did ok. Pearce has no pace whatsoever and that cost us today. I thought he was lucky not to get sent off too. Deji did ok.

  • Really not angry at that, more frustrating as has been said. Shocking pitch and 2 mistakes have defined that game, I’d say we’ve been robbed.
  • At least we know one of our regular posters on here will be happy tonight. The miserable sod.
  • I agree on Gunter; he has got worse as the season has gone on. He should have scored to make it 2-0. The first mistake by Pearce (and Oshilaja) was dreadful. Not sure about the comments on the subs; they were essentially like for like.
  • Where was the shape in the 2nd half? Looked like Bowyer sent subs out without any instructions for them or the rest of the team on the pitch.

The rest of league are going pull away soon and we spend the rest of the season wondering if we are touching distance of 6th.

Your name doesn’t come as a surprise
  • Just got to say Pearce is shit.

Thought it was a decent performance. Centre halves played well until letting the ball bounce.
As others have said; we aren’t getting much luck.
    Two very good finishes though.
As I said on the match thread, the real sickener is the ownership that let Clarke Harris play for them not us, and for not giving us time to build a proper, balanced squad.

It’s a season for consolidation for me. We’re miles off a play off winning team.

  • Feel so deflated, absolutely gutted. Just feel we can’t catch any breaks at the moment and any slither of opportunity we get punished.

I’m sure most fans feel the same about their club but I genuinely feel ours is cursed at times.
Rochdale banged in 4 against us from 5 or chances. It does feel like our "luck" is cursed at the moment.
Mistakes after Mistakes though....sometimes we create our own luck
  • I like Pearce that battle with Mitrovic at Craven Cottage last year was immense. But since his injury and the emergence of Innis and Famewo, its almost like his tries to hard to be that Centre half, which has cost us ultimately recently.

  • Peterborough one of the strongest teams at home in the division. Charlton with a squad put together from scraps that no-one else wanted and missing their first choice centre back pairing.

Of course it's gutting after we held the lead for 50 minutes but that's football.
To be honest on that performance (and based on the 0-0 last time we played them at London Road), I cant see how they score so many goals - Apart from one moment; Clarke-Harris was in the pocket of Pearce, whereas Dembele struggled against an ageing Chris Gunter!!
