How disappointing was that...in control....then 2 mistakes....the first one was a basic CB error, the second one was an unfortunate slip (mind you that pitch was awful). We didn't deserve to lose that, ok we may not have deserved to win it either but at least tonight I saw some fight from every player.
LB looking to bring players in across most positions....up-front, box-to-box midfielder, winger and CB's. Its good to hear but with bloody salary cap how on earth are we going to do that, without a huge change of players in January? Sadly I think its time for Pearce to move on, to slow and indecisive, Desi I thought played well, especially first half, JFC another good game, and the Maartsen/Miller partnership is getting better.
Onto Saturday, and LB says at least one in before then and it sounded as though they would go straight into the starting line-up. We can still do this, but we need Akin/Innis back, or a brand new CB to cover until they are.3 -
Are our coaches just still Bowyer, Jacki and Marshall. Do we need a defensive expert to come in and give them a hand? I have no idea how many coaches teams in league one tend to have2

CafcTeckers said:A bit of perspective, this team isn't good enough for top 2 and probably isn't good enough for top 6. Frustrating but feels like this may just need to be a consolidation season after the mess of the past year and a bit. Get through this season, if we're lucky scrape into the playoffs and then build a proper team
Amos
Gunter Inniss Famewo Maatsen
Millar Watson JFC Doughty
Aneke Schwarz
The problem is, it is very unlikely these 11 will ever be on the pitch at the same time4 -

The rest of league are going pull away soon and we spend the rest of the season wondering if we are touching distance of 6th.
But its ok, the bowyer in brigade have their win at Bristol Rovers. Good for them.
We all know Bowyer has a problem with subs this season, if he and the team aren't giving our proper instruction & shape I'd say thats a huge issue. How many times have we thrown games away or been shut out.2 -
Just finished watching the comments after the game on Valley Pass. Felt really sorry for Bowyer, like most on here he seems a proper Charlton man. Gunter should have scored, then straight away an almighty cock-up between or two CB's, surely one of them should have called for it, lets them in for an unlikely equaliser. Next terrible cock-up by Shinnie cost us the game. The pitch was crap and not one to try a dodgy back pass on. Smyth totally ineffective (takes a decent throw in not much else), Miller looked good, we had chances before they equalised. Shame JFC was taken off (hope it was a precaution from the booking). Pratley not bad but we need a decent CB (why not give Charlie Barker an outing?) So frustrating thought we should have held out for a draw, but then Amos saved a cert 3rd goal. Needs to be a lot better Saturday!2

We controlled the game for an hour & could have been 2 up with either the Gunter header or if Smyth could find a Charlton player when through in the right side of the box.
Smyth doesn’t have the strength to be a footballer and our subs were worse then the players they replaced.
Terrible defending in letting the ball bounce for the first and for the second we are trying to play triangles when Shinnie gives the ball away with Deji out of position.
Didn’t deserve to lose tonight & feel gutted2 -
That Gunter miss. He was close enough to the goal that he heads into a free area with direction over power. Why he went for power baffles me. It is these decisions that cost you games.
That miss unsettled us. It shouldn't have but it did and they caught us out seconds later.9 -

1st half was solid, good pressing and dealt with pretty much everything that came our way.
2nd half just shows we aren't quite good enough to beat the better 4/5 teams in the league. I feel the team is lacking character. Who's going to pull us through games like tonight? Schwartz is still miles of the pace. Aneke can't keep up with the demands of 3 games a week & I'm yet to see a really decent end product from Millar. Can't see us making the playoffs1 -

golfaddick said:You don't win too many matches in League One by 1-0. Have a look at the scores week by week and see how many teams score more than once. 4 teams so far this evening have scored 3 times. Most teams score at least 1.
I will say this until I'm blue in the face - you wont get promoted with strikers that don't score at least 15 goals a season. You got to be ruthless in front of goal. Smozdics had 3 chances, scored 2 & Amos made a great save to deny him his hat trick.1 - Sponsored links:

They were positive subs but the gifts for the goals gave posh confidence.
We defended well as a team 1st half but two errors from 2 CB going for the same ball and Shinnie making a mistake and Peterborough are ruthless.
Feel sorry for Lee Bowyer tonight because individual mistakes are costing us big time.
I rightly criticised Bowyer over 8 or 9 matches with some very strange tactics.
Not tonight. On a shocking pitch we were undone with a long ball.
The set up in the last two matches has been spot on.
"We will rue that miss" as Gunter headed over when we should've gone 2 up.
I have been supporting Charlton too long not to know a vital miss.
The game changed after that and Posh remembered they are a good team and they bossed the game from then on with the assistance of the charity of Cafc.

Bowyer still has to turn it around, let's not pretend he's faultless.

I thought Pearce was lucky in the first half to stay on the pitch after blocking their player through on goal deliberately0

let’s keep all the chat please about the game and Charlton, not each other. No one comes out of it well and the other 95% of us aren’t interested in reading it. Ta26

Do you seriously, I mean seriously, believe that our players are given no instructions at the start of the game, during the game or when substitutes are made? Because that's what you said; "Looked like Bowyer sent subs out without any instructions for them or the rest of the team on the pitch." Your words.3 -

Its not a witch hunt is evidence right in front of your eyes.
Pearce is a battler and has been a great servant for us but he is a liability, clumsy and off the pace. He always looks out of position and ends up man handling players. he got away with another not long after the second the ref gave a foul to him but it was not he was lucky.0 - Sponsored links:

Not LBs fault....he was let down by some players tonight. Up until the equalizer were in control. Peterborough nothing special. Hopefully we get a couple in that will improve us. I’m resigned to staying in this shit league and rebuild. A gap building from top 5 and we’ve played a couple of more games and will get caught by other teams.5

That wasn't a pitch were you could string any passes together. You boot it forwards and battle for it, which we did well enough to be 2-0 up. You don't take that gift and it can cost you. Gunter was ok today but I honestly believe a professional footballer shouldn't miss a chance like that. No matter what his position is. Place the F*ing header into the net FFS! After they equalised our heads dropped I thought and their punts seemed more dangerous than ours after that.3

A salary cap that he will be stuck with and complaining about in the summer as well.2 -
Long way to go and plenty of points to play for but I feel it's slipping away from us. Play offs should be the target still but it won't be easy and we need to put some kind of run together quickly. Players coming back will help. Too many changes tonight when it went 1-1 and it changed the dynamic and balance too much. We were in control and did ok until the gift goal. Oh well onto Saturday.0

Pearce can fuck right off7
