  • Bowyer saying that someone had to take control of the header for their first goal so blaming both Deji and Pearce
Tbf they have got mouths in there head...bit of talking to each other and there would have been no issues.
Its why I agree with him, I dont get why its Deji OR Pearce's error

Its like Phillips | Sarr at Wembley all over again - Bloody well talk to each other
  • Gutted to lose that one. Peterborough scored from 2 mistakes. One from mix up from centre backs and second from Shinnie. Centre backs were generally ok apart from that mistake, that comes from players not playing too much together. Charlton had a perfect first half performance and worked really hard. Dire pitch and ref who allowed the Peterborough players to con him second half. Maybe subs could have been brought on earlier but otherwise team selection was fine.

If Chartlon play & work hard as that though they will get a run together. It is gutting though to lose to 2 mistakes.

What part of that was a decent performance? We had nothing upfront and conceded two goals again.

    Peterborough were nothing special.

Sailing into a season of Mid-table obscurity.

     This isn’t a blip.
Completely agree, a lot settling for mid table mediocrity unfortunately, including the team 👀

Not gutted at all. We showed fight and hunger, maybe too many subs in too small a period of time messed with our chemistry.

Subbing JFC felt like the one that changed the game.

Washington and Bogle going off also didn't help, but once JFC went off it took away our box to box player.

Shinnie is more attacking, he's not been particularly defensive in his games for us.

Pratley is a very lucky boy

Pearce's bell is tolling, thought Famewo was going to be on the bench, but alas no...

We probably will have to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks.
  • Still a long way to go keep positive!
Ive not watched the past few but think he needs to drop pearce as too slow now and start with both aneke and schwartz, even stick washington on as well with aneke just behind
  • You don't win too many matches in League One by 1-0.  Have a look at the scores week by week and see how many teams score more than once. 4 teams so far this evening have scored 3 times. Most teams score at least 1.

I will say this until I'm blue in the face - you wont get promoted with strikers that don't score at least 15 goals a season. You got to be ruthless in front of goal. Smozdics had 3 chances, scored 2 & Amos made a great save to deny him his hat trick.

    Famewo is needed alongside oshilaja.

fully expect pratley to be at CB next game, knowing bowyer.

JFC has to stay on , however! Not sure if there’s a fitness issue etc but why take off your controlling midfielder on a boggy pitch , and replace him with an attacking ball playing one!?
  • Bowyer VP interview:

”A bit of a battle out there, but we felt comfortable.”
”One long punt up the pitch, centre halves don’t take control and it’s a 1 on 1 with our keeper”
”it’s disappointing, you can’t give goals away like that”
”we was on the front foot and competing and winning a lot of the balls.”
”it’s cost us today. Basic defending”
”From nothing they score again. Two poor goals. They wasn’t hurting us at all. As of late we’re giving away stupid goals”
”we’re never getting promoted giving away poor goals and mistakes like that. It’s not good enough”
    Continued:

”everything was working. Everything was perfect.”
”the pitch was horrendous. Not playable”
”they’ve got to do there job. To win headers. Defend properly. Make the right decisions”
”we’ve worked hard. JJ has said they’ve got to walk the walk. They’ve got to do it for 90 minutes”
”we ain’t doing it. We’re giving away sloppy goals”
    ”physically they give me everything”
”it hurts when we make mistakes but we live and die together. But it does hurt”
”we need to be stronger. They wasn’t miles better than us and we’re trying to close the gap on there squad quality”
  • Mistakes are made when you’re putting players out there that keep making those mistakes. You can’t blame those players, they are shit so you got to drop them. Fed up hearing Bowyer complaining about mistakes every week.

Where was the shape in the 2nd half? Looked like Bowyer sent subs out without any instructions for them or the rest of the team on the pitch.

The rest of league are going pull away soon and we spend the rest of the season wondering if we are touching distance of 6th.

But its ok, the bowyer in brigade have their win at Bristol Rovers. Good for them.
Your name doesn’t come as a surprise
By jove, I think you've nailed it there. The manager obviously sends the team out without any instructions - no instructions at all. You're a genius son, pure genius.
Haha yes IdiotDrugs, love to see it! Someone who can clearly see how awful Bowyers management has been this season! Shocking shape and tactics.

Nearly died when the Bowyer In brigade started asking where the Bowyer Out brigade was after the BR win, narrow minded peasants.
  • The Pearce witch hunt continues. Him & Deji were excellent first half and then they make a Sunday league mistake. Both at fault I'd argue Deji even more so because he's let the ball bounce first to make Pearce come over.

1st half was solid, good pressing and dealt with pretty much everything that came our way.

2nd half just shows we aren't quite good enough to beat the better 4/5 teams in the league. I feel the team is lacking character. Who's going to pull us through games like tonight? Schwartz is still miles of the pace. Aneke can't keep up with the demands of 3 games a week & I'm yet to see a really decent end product from Millar. Can't see us making the playoffs
  • Bowyer saying we need to strengthen in all areas

Didnt quite move quick enough to get someone new in for tonight, hopefully happen before Saturday
  • Even though I’ve been critical I have to say I don’t massively blame Bowyer for tonight. Only thing I would have done differently is to have put Gunter at CB instead of Pearce, but given we’ve been screaming out for round pegs in round holes it’s probably not on to lambast him for that selection.

That being said, that really has to be the end of it for Pearce.
  • Bowyer hopeful of bringing in one player before Saturdays game.
  • Peterborough one of the strongest teams at home in the division. Charlton with a squad put together from scraps that no-one else wanted and missing their first choice centre back pairing.

Of course it's gutting after we held the lead for 50 minutes but that's football.
Scraps no-one else wanted...... that is complete tosh.  Watson, Gunter, Matthews, Williams, Washington, Inniss, shinine etc are all players no one else wants. That as an excuse is completely ridiculous....... Problem, is our good squad, is basically a poor team. Stupid errors and failure to take chances in last 3 games, not Bowyers fault. Prior to that he carries some of the responsibility.

Don’t understand his name but his comments
About Bowyer tonight we’re Completely moronic
          😂😂😂
  • Bowyer is right that with 5/6 first team players out the replacements are not good enough to get promoted. If it takes another month or two to get Famewo and Inniss back in tandem we won't go up.

Pearce walks back into the team, after we keep a clean sheet without him, and is at fault for yet another goal. Drop him for good, strip him of the armband, he isn't good enough.

I don't know if it's lockdown, and being unable to go to matches, but I feel such a lack of affinity to so many of these players. Maybe it's because they're all randoms and loans again, but genuinely couldn't give a shit if half of them never played for us again.

There's no chance we get promoted this season. That set of players just don't have it in them. Soft, full of mistakes, lack of passion, barely seem to care. Sick of it.
Football fan in generic players lack passion statement shock.

Nothing to do with 'passion' or 'not caring' which fortunately seems to be the default assumption of less fans these days. We lost because Peterborough are not a bad team, and we made a couple of stupid mistakes which a very good player capitalised on.
I stand by it. I genuinely don't think half that squad are arsed.

Prefer him there than Pearce on Pearce's last few showings. Captain Pearce has "fkin lost it."
  • Even Jackson laying down some truths to the players

“It was a great meeting” - what’s that a reference to?
  • Who was the player we nearly signed before tonight?

Another defeat. Another two goals conceded. Zero attacking threat.

How many teams have better squads than us in this league?
Squad not that release the when they team was made up of so many squad players. Our 3rd and 4th choice centre backs, Pratley who we need replace in summer (if not possible this month), our 3rd and 4th choice strikers, Smyth a squad player at best. That’s not a promotion winning team, while Peterborough had an 11 out there that should at least make the play-offs.
Every team has injuries, it’s no excuse.
We’ve had one blip in form which saw us win 7 on the bounce. Baring that we haven’t been performing since November 2019.
I’m not blaming injuries, I’m saying you’re overrating the squad. I wouldn’t give the likes of Oshilaja, Pearce, Pratley and Bogle new contracts, would you?
