I think he played well tonight and could actually be an advantage with him cutting it on his right foot to cross to Stockley.

Agreed. I will be negative if we don't sign a LB by the end of the window but having Gunter or even someone like Oguntayo for a few games shouldn't hurt too much.

It's not the end of the world, I don't think anyone is claiming it is. If, for example, Purrington did his Acl on the 1st of September we would be left with 2 right backs who have to both play every week and Roddy and Barker as our only professional cover.
You can't go into the season with 1 left back, those days need to be in the dim and distant past. Look what happened when we did it with Page, we were lopsided for months until Purrington came in and we improved massively just through balance. He isn't Ashley Cole is he.
If we're not after a left back (even before BP was injured) then Adkins is deluded or has been lied to about the budget. I don't think that is or ever was the case though. It's a good point that he doesn't want to come across as desperate to sign one in the media.

That’s true but won’t any club or agent knowing we probably do need a left back know that Adkins would say we don’t. Also most agents know exactly what positions we’ve been enquiring about for months

That’s true but won’t any club or agent knowing we probably do need a left back know that Adkins would say we don’t. Also most agents know exactly what positions we’ve been enquired about for months
