Probably the most facile comment I have ever read because all of it can be used to describe every operational organisation on the planet but ignores detail, interdependencies, context, timing, market influences and conditions, personnel, nuance, fundamental to each specific organisation.

You can call Dobson a Pratley replacement, but the same could be said of Clare, as Pratley wasn't just a holding midfielder, he could do box to box as well
I wouldn't call Clare the Shinnie replacement, if anything his role as the creative passer and dead ball taker has been taken by Morgan.
Clare if anything is an alternative to Gilbey who was our box to box midfielder last season

If Dobson who was MOM v Wigan had not been taken off we would not have lost that game that was match changing moment .. and he was one of the better players v Sheff Wed

We've tried to sign a few younger players who may or may not grow in value, we've stopped loaning potential premier league stars who we help add value to for premier league teams and then we've added some more guaranteed talent who we may be able to buy if we go up - that's it in a nutshell really - i don't think any of it is half as complicated / strategic etc etc as you try to paint it - its a football club !!! We will still end up selling our top up and coming talent until we reach a level that matches their potential and we will be scrapping around with the other 30 or 40 clubs of our size trying to cobble a team together that might get us there in the meantime.

Would like to see a better target man back up to Stockley but must be of comparable quality - not convinced the free agent striker market would give us that quality required. Suspect we will continue with Davison as back up, see where we stand after Xmas and put some icing on the cake if we feel we can challenge for automatic promotion.

Its ok - if Stockey gets injured we can always play like Man City with no No9 , and a revolving front line , we now have quite a few options in the squad.
In his time Leary was the best deep lying CF in the Country. He is also amongst the Addicks highest scorers. Those who regularly saw Leary play were very privileged. Was Leary the innovator of the deep lyer is open to question. Think Ivor Broadis of Man C might have been the first. Broadis like Leary had wonderful touch and vision
