    Then why would we let him talk to them. You only do that if you've agreed a fee surely, otherwise you'll have a serious pissed off player on your hands.

    Probably part of the reason he wasn’t involved today, I suspect he was allowed to agree personal terms incase Chelsea make a higher last minute bid.

    if the window closes and he keeps he’s head down for the rest of the season and believes in himself he will know the opportunity is there

    Burstow is only 18, not 30+ 

    it’s not he’s last chance to get 20k+ a week.

    Because currently we only have 2 fit strikers.....and one of those has shown to be a bit fragile. Even today we had to stick Leko up front for the last 10 mins.

    I completely get the sentiment but the danger is we then blood Kanu and lose him for buttons - and he's the real diamond - he's the one we've invested in since he was in the under 11s.

    The life of a lower league club eh.

    If it had happened 2/3 days ago I would ahve felt the same. However, we have no time to sort out a replacement - unless we were going into the free agent market and bringing in Defoe, can you imagine the uproar had he been Burstow's replacement!?

    My gut feeling is that the loan back part of the deal was probably agreed before we allowed hm to speak to Chelsea. I doubt he will ever play for the Chelsea first team and if he scores another 3/4 between now and the end of the season, don't be surprised if he is back again next year.

    This could end up being a Jenkinson situation where the fee bankrolls moves in the summer.

    No point getting him back on loan unless it includes next season as well. 

    If he scores another 5 goals this season, it won’t have an important enough impact on our final position.
