I expect Kane Wilson to be going straight to the Championship for £1-2m and Cadden for around £1m… both are young, quality players with a higher ceiling than 16th in L1 👍🏼

Good thing 16th in League One is a temporary position for our club. We all know CAFC is a better club than that - I'll go back to my promotion odds analogy. We will be in that top 8 grouping come the summer.

I reckon you could get both of them for about a million up front with various clauses based on player and club performance. (pending contract status)
The last players they sold in Jan 2021: Kitching to Barnsley for 600k, Winchester to Sunderland for 200k.
Wilson signed a two year deal in the summer of 2020. Can't find anything that says he signed an extension. Transfermarkt also says Cadden is out of contract this summer.
That changes the picture completely if true. As it turns out, I'm sure both players will be getting large signing on fees from clubs. :-)
I think Matthews will be released along with Gunter, Souare and Watson.
Pearce will probably get offered a similar deal to the one he’s on, which would be a mistake imo. A coaching role is fine, anything more is too much in terms of the squad place we’ll be giving up.
Morgan will probably get another shot if he continues his effort between now and the end of the season given he’s a youth product.
Purrington could also be another one we give another year. For me, that would send out a very uninspiring signal and if he we go for him, Lee, Leko, Famewo, we’ll be back here this time next year

Pearce will hold a playing registration mainly to play in under 23 to help the young defenders while he takes up his fishing role but will still be available if we have another injury crisis in the defence … Watson could also take up a coaching role within the club and play at non league level
Not sure what people are complaining about what Jackson has said. He’s bang on.
He’s not saying that’s all we need but most definitely is an area where we must improve.
Oxford are a ball playing side but won more aerial battles than us. Wigan won 2.5x the amount of aerial battles as we did.
I would assume we have hardly came out on top of aerial battles this season when Stockley hasn’t been playing.
We are predictable with just Inniss able to win a header and it’s easy for opponents.
It’s an area we must improve and is why I’d also like us to sign Chey Dunkley for example, as mentioned before.
Absolutely agree. Stockley’s head was like a magnet when defending and he had a free role to attack the ball. If we get a new striker I hope it is a big one.

We do need to get rid of as many as possible in this team, including Morgan, trying a little bit harder doesn’t mean he will be good, get rid. He does not make us better and has too many unsuccessful attempts at being a first choice midfielder. I just can’t have any of this blind loyalty anymore, Jacko and TS need to be ruthless this summer, because the players that deserve to be here next year could be counted on one hand. If they haven’t got Jacko the tin tack by then. They majority are a disgrace and don’t seem to give a toss about who the manager is, get JJ the job then all relax because then they’ll be ok. So fed up with this bunch of players.😤

Oh here we go again at Morgan bashing🙄. Clearly because in the eyes of many he has played reasonably you have had to stay away from your dislike and obsession to be all that is negative about him of late #seemorgancomments. Football of course is about opinions and in a team that are at times underperforming but mainly not good enough Albie is a much better player than you give credit for. Or rather refuse to give credit to.
Perhaps you may consider that if he played in a team that was performing how we would want he might be the type of player to shine more.
Ok last one - these will all be on our radar. Hope we are lining up moves early given the extra three months we have over the competition.
Agreed Rudoni is a quality prospect my Dons Twitter fan said they expect him to be their first £1m sale so maybe out of our range … maybe not if they go down.
I stand corrected if there contracts are up but I was sure they were under long term deals.
But if on frees then even more chance they’ll go to the Champ for the wages. Similar player Josh Key at Exeter and they rejected £1m+ from Sunderland last summer

Watching the Oxford game and I have to say I thought to myself that Morgan was the one I could see Robbo taking off us. In a team of ballers who move the ball well and with pace to strikers with movement ahead I think he would fit in well and do a good job.
Johnnie Jackson has admitted that boosting the height and aerial power of his Charlton Athletic side is a key consideration for the summer transfer window.
The Addicks have conceded 10 goals in their last four matches – shipping four in Saturday’s reverse at the hands of Oxford United.
Charlton kept four clean sheets in their opening five matches when Jackson was in caretaker charge following the dismissal of Nigel Adkins.
And the Addicks boss reckons at least part of their vulnerability is down to missing the aerial ability of Jayden Stockley and Chuks Aneke, although all Oxford’s goals at the weekend were low strikes.
“We’ve been caught on the counter-attack quite a bit and conceded a few from set-pieces – the personnel doesn’t help with that on certain ones,” said Jackson.
“There are certain ones who make you stronger in your own box. But when you attack you have to be vigilant as well and that is something we’ve maybe gone away from – are we prepared and ready to do our job if there is a turnover?
“I haven’t had the opportunity to put Ryan Inniss, Jayden Stockley and Conor Washington on the pitch together and that would make a big difference in either box.
“We’re not a big side and that has been a little bit of our downfall. If you take Inniss, Stockley and a couple of others out we’re not a big team and set-pieces are a big part of the game. We need to think about that when we plan as well for next season.”
Someone in recruitment said that last summer (possibly the summer before). We were going to bring in big strong players, but we still didn't.
Not sure what people are complaining about what Jackson has said. He’s bang on.

Exactly. I've supported Charlton for 50 years. Generally, we sign, nice, smallish, powder puff players and then wonder why we get out battled most games. This is epitomised by our performances and record against Millwall when we melt.
Who from Saturday's starting 11 would you want beside you in a tough tough game? Innis, Dobson and maybe Clare? The other 8 are not strong guys and you can't carry 8.
This thread is going around and around in circles pretty much like the team.
We need a clear plan going forwards. That starts with the manager and his backroom staff. If we are unclear if this manager is going to be here next season, then how can anybody possibly plan what squad to assemble?
Since when did clubs set themselves up to just play one system? A good manager will assemble a versatile team that can adapt to the games they play in.....we have consistently had managers who only have a plan A.
Having watched every game up to and including Bolton, I can honestly say I have no affinity with any of our squad. The same can be said with with the backroom staff...yeah I loved Jacko as a player, but the club is more important than him.
So it needs to start right at the very top.....Thomas needs to step up and decide. I think he is still very naive and too reliant on people who agree with him. If he is serious about the club he needs to appoint a CEO. Its as clear as day to me and that person needs to be an experienced veteran at running a football club and in the long term it will save him wasting money on misfits.
Im not advocating Peter Varney but thats the type of character we need right now......we need to move forward, run the thing professionally from top to bottom.
If the owner still refuses and does things his way, its going to be a very expensive hobby going forward until he gets jack shit of it.
I want Thomas and Charlton to be successful and for that to happen he needs to sort this mess of a football club out before the start of next season.
Can we please forward excellent diagrams like these to TS junior.
He can pretend he came up with them himself on his data analytics laptop, then he can tell his Dad, who will inform Jacko, who will pick up the phone to Gallen, who will offer our new target a five year contract.
If we play this right, CL could start to control the entire club recruitment circus.

I feel exactly the same. If I had my way I wouldn’t want to see Gunter, Watson, Souare, Famewo, Pearce, Matthews, Purrington, Morgan, Lee, Gilbey, DJ & Leko here next season. In an ideal world TS would say Jackson, let’s rip it up and have another go, but I was trying to be realistic in my assessment of who they’ll keep. I strongly suspect offers will be made to a few of the players that we’re all fed up with and have got us to the dizzying heights of 14th or wherever it is we stand

Yes contracts will dictate a bit, not many other clubs will come running to sign, flakey under performers.
