We will never win a football match being toothless up front and conceding so easily. You can't keep doing the same things and expect a different result. This way there is no light at the end of the tunnel and we'd do well to stay up.
You're right. It's unbelievable picking a side without any experienced strikers.
I dunno if Jackson is up to it or not but I've seen us be crap in all kinds of formations.. I'm sick of most of these lot.
Having said that, the system isn't working at all today. Burstow is getting bullied up top and no-one is close enough to him to make anything of the rare flick-ons or second balls.
Minto says Stockley might be coming on at half time. Watch the team be transformed as soon as he steps on the pitch. It might be too late to get anything out of this afternoon but having him in the side between now and May will be more than enough to keep us comfortably mid table.
Unfortunately, Burstow Leko Lee DJ and whoever else we try up front just can't pull us up the pitch in the same way and the last four or five games have effectively been a training session of defense v attack because of it.
Really felt, with our complete lack of striking options, we had a perfect excuse to play 4 at the back, and then pack the midfield out.
Yet we’ve gone for semi expansive 3-4-2-1, which we play completely wrong as we end up lumping it up front to a 18 year old kid not known for his physicality and really shouldn’t be playing full 90 mins matches week in week out anyway.
Awful stuff. I know Jackson’s been dealt a bit of a shit hand with injuries, but whilst we wait for our best players to come back you’ve got to play to the strengths of those that are available.
At least 2 goals conceded every game, can't blame the injured strikers for that
You can if you can't keep the ball out of your own half - less time and fewer opportunities for the other team to get at Gunter & co. Strikers play a key part in holding the ball up and dragging the rest of the team out with them. The ones we have available are unable to do that.

These players are gash but they're not as bad as they're playing. The system doesn't work, and Jackson inability to change it is absolutely fucking us
Even good stubborn managers change formation and tactics when things are going tits. He needs to learn to be flexible in his decisions but it’s not looking like it’s in his thinking.

We all said that in the Championship relegation season

How about trying to play our way up the pitch through the midfield? The problem is, the players seem to have no idea how to do this.

Transformed?
We might at least have a chance of some decent build up play and opportunities to get the ball in the box to score goals. The last three or four matches, the oppositions defenders could've pulled out the deck chairs.

It's simple. Teams have sussed us out, same balls catching us out every week. JJ completely out of his depth. To keep trying the same thing expecting a different outcome is pathetic. Ok we have injuries but every team has that. He refuses to play a formation to suit what he has available. If he doesnt wake up before long we could honestly get relegated and that is something I really didnt think remotely possible before today

Nothing to do with missing the front three players then, oh thats alright then.

Anchored off Mustique in the pissing rain. This doesn't cheer me up though.

I wish JJ hadn't got the job....

And you think I'm happy? I'm at the Vieux Port still waiting for you to pick me up from Marseille!
I make that two and a half hours of football without a shot on target… 😥

🔄 | Jayden Stockley makes his long-awaited return in place of Albie Morgan.
