Stockley made of glass? Over the last 5 seasons he's played 38, 41, 35, 45 and 48 games (all competitions). Considering the way the bloke puts himself about I think that's very decent.
Fair point on Stockley - I just have bad memories of when he was injured and all our forwards were out so we had no one. Was in January/February.
That situation was exacerbated by us continuing to play 2 up front when we had no senior strikers available.

I do raise an eyebrow though at what is acceptable and what our aspirations should be though, which is why I dont see the point of talking about it in the present tense.
We of course aspire to be a Premier League team again - But would that be the level of acceptance for many on here, or would they settle for mid-table obscurity as a Championship side again? - Its all relative, as those feelings should change as we progress as a Football team.
JFC is probably too good for Leyton Orient but you have to wonder if pre season has highlighted that he can’t operate at a suitably high level. The mind may be willing but is the body able??

Playoffs has to be a minimum requirement for the season. It should always be the minimum.
Completely agree, our budget is (should) be big enough that a squad can be improve enough fairly quickly. There were clubs finishing above us with far smaller budgets.
That’s not to say Garner should automatically be sacked if we lose in the playoffs or miss out on them entirely. It partly depends on how we got to that point and the direction we appear to be going in. It could come down to a couple of major injuries outside of his control for example.
The problem is, right now, if Stockley gets injured we have to start Aneke, and will then be forced to use Leaburn or Kanu for 30 to 45 minutes per match.
I think you almost have to ignore Aneke. He will be used and will be a great weapon off the bench, but he’s kind of in his own unique niche. If you take him out of the equation we have one Senior striker and two kids, and the senior one has some injury question marks attached.

There hasn't been a single window under Sandgaard where he hasn't spent some money and in several instances rather large amounts (by L1 standards.)

Signing on fees, agents fees, insurance fees, General cost of employing someone, commitment to wages over length of contract are all significant costs. With the way players can now move when out of contract its very sensible for clubs to use out of contract signings rather than pay a fee if possible. Of course you are right in that getting that player that is a specific need might require a fee. I don’t think TS has been particularly shy in using that where necessary ? Aneke, Kirk, Stockley, Fraser. I know the club are actively trying to sign a striker and have bids in and bids rejected. As the window closing approaches things will change and deals will happen. There are a lot of clubs at our level who desperately need a cash injection and are playing who blinks first. Eventually they’ll have to blink or be in real problems. Apologies if you thought my reply aggressive. Certainly not my intention. Put it down to Covid.

Free transfers will still involve signing on fees and agents fees, so yes, fees have been paid.
