Next manager - Ben Garner confirmed (p256)

I think it's £8M pa, so now he's lent £16M, which he will possibly/probably never get back.4
-
A realistic view of TS's ownership:
- Saved us from almost certain administration or even liquidation
- Over optimistic quotes, likely underestimated the challenge
- Managerial appointments that looked good on paper but didn't work out
- Signings that looked good on paper but didn't work out
- a man that clearly wants us to do well but has been naive about this level of football
- has spent a significant amount of his own money to bankroll us
- has made some strange/bad decisions namely the women's team name
- Is spending money and effort to attain cat 1 status for our academy (would be the first league 1 side ever to do this)
Anyone who focuses solely on the bad points or good points must look at the whole package.
Has TS been a great owner so far? No.
Has TS been a shit owner so far? No.

All I would like to add is that with the right people in place to advise him his mistakes could have been less.
He still insists on doing things his own way so although I believe his intentions are honourable I believe he will continue to make mistakes.
The longer we remain in league one the bigger his losses will be.
I'm not so sure he will be here long term if we don't go up in the next season or two.9 -

4th manager is 2 years
One of the worse seasons going
Separated from stadium and training ground
No manager
Poor appointments behind scenes ( roddy etc)
Yup remarkable job 👏
separate ground from training ground. Roland was never going to part with them unless he got an over inflated price. Ts did what was needed to buy the club and ultimately keep the club alive. Bit harsh to blame him for that one.
the other two, agreed2 -
Thomas has told me as well as others I would think that he has spent 15million of his own money. This was at the beginning of the year.0
-
He will be a good owner provided he learns from his mistakes14

Mebe even alloisi The final next W E will be between Melbourne City (of the City group) and Western united who have reached the final in their 3rd year in the A League with a tenth of the budget that City have got. Two or three youth players in this final that our scouts could watch
Riley McGree .Nat Atkinson and Connor Chapman. Marko Tillio of City will be next for sure, after this W/E final-- I suppose Ange Postocoglou was a bit of a bore ,until he went to Glasgow Celtic ---Remember the names0 -
Anyway, to get back on topic, anyone for Pardew coming back? ;-)6
-
Has anyone actually heard anything? Even a smidge of a rumour....1

Sure it was claimed a few pages back that we would all see our new manager by today, but nothing yet, so you could well end up with fourth or fifth choice, Nige is still available don't forget...1 -

Well it must be HUGE the amount of time they've been working on it...0 -
I can’t believe we wouldn’t have some very significant hints and leaks from various sources if an appointment was imminent. Not just from within CAFC but the press and perhaps the club of previous employment if applicable.4

If you're reading earlier posts on the thread, you'll likely respond to those first without before seeing subsequent posts.
In my case, I never saw AFKA's 'keep on topic' post before I posted mine.
Honest, Guv!.0 -

I've been here at Heathrow for 3 weeks, checking on who is flying out to Colorado.
Absolutely no one recognised yet, nada, zilch.
I'll give it another week.10 -

he does not convince me at all with his ego driven bullshit and promises.
Actions speak louder than words/Bullshit.👎👎
Regardless of how many years of neglect the key part ie assembling a competitive football team is not overly complex if you or those around you know what you are doing and shouldn't take 18 months to sort out.
Wigan did it. Bolton too.
All this "take time to turn around the years of damage" might hold water if it was a complex failing business and having to unwind unknown debts and derivative contracts etc but it's not.
Yes there might be off the field stuff that will take a while to enhance but that is not relevant to how long it should take to assemble a squad to compete in the third tier of English football if you have people who know what they're doing.
It's not complicated as Sandgaard himself said.
This illusion of undoing years of neglect is a complete self perpetuating myth.
We had Cullen, Taylor, beliek, Bauer etc under Duchatelet albeit he was an utter wrong un.
The problem in the main is we've been mismanaged from the top down with awful owners and poor managers and owners that have hindered half decent managers like Powell, Bowyer and (who knows even Jackson).
What neglect and danage is there to sort out beyond getting knowledgeable people in to identify, recruit and mould competitive 3rd division side?
Illic, Mills, Youds, Bowen, Heaney, Bright, Mendonca (7)
And
Purrington, Cullen, Bielik, Pratley, Taylor, Parker (6)
All joined after the previous season finished. That's over half the teams that started the play off finals.
In pure first team terms 4 transfer windows in we are arguably worse off than when we started.
The women's team, training ground investment, fan engagement is all nice to have but it doesn't really matter if we are stuck in the middle of league 1, does it?0
