Regarding the rent set up to Duchatelet and one possibly for @Airman Brown
I believe the total rent liability adds up to £7.578 million over 15 years paid in different instalments. So roughly just over half a million £ a year. ( I think the first installment of 623k may already have been paid?) How does that represent as a value for money compared to other clubs that lease their ground from a third party. I know location and size of property would have varying factors, but just wondering if that is a reasonable charge should someone else be looking to take it on??
Duchatelet and Sandgaard both employ this weird logic that if you buy something and lose a fortune on it that it somehow becomes worth the value of the losses.
Sandgaard wants £25m for an asset that loses him £8m a year and has no chance of breaking even under his ownership.
Oh dear.
He'll eventually accept £1m or so with his debt in 2nd position should we reach the Priemership.
IMHO
It will however get bumpier before that happens.
He would be lucky to get £1M for us. When he purchased the sell on's for Pope and Gomez were realistic. One has now been paid, the other is on a long contract. Our squad is next to worthless.
As for someone putting his debt into second position on promotion to PL, I don't see that as likely either. No sane owner would agree as they will be risking their money to get there so no reason he should share in that and there is already such an arrangement in place with ex Directors which is unusual enough.
I suspect he would get out now if he could at break even but he is £15M or so down and getting deeper.
He needs to decide whether he cuts and runs asap, holds for a window to sell everything that moves and hopes a buyer is still there, or starts reinvesting.
Joachim Sandgaard and Leo Rifkind are only echoing the Thoughts of TS.
TS made the huge mistake if thinking we have a hard core set of support akin to Sunderland or Sheffield Wednesday. By hardcore, I mean the numbers turning up regardless of what kind of shyte is served up. We are nowhere near their loyal levels.
I disagree, to an extent.
Sunderland fans will likely always turn up to watch a load of crap and they have a more loyal fanbase as they live and breathe football, but if they had to put up with the yoyo nature and continuous repetitive off field struggles of Charlton which doesn't seem to end, I think a chunk of them also would have drifted off.
The stadium of light has and had a lot of empty patches in it from what I remember. They don't sell out their home ground very often.

Theirs average home attendance recently have been over 30,000 (L1)

They had an average attendance of around 30k for much of their time in league one. They've also had a fairly good share of poor general management.
Hi all. Just reaching out after yesterday. I really have no idea at the moment what we are trying to achieve as a club and where we are going. I’ve been going to games for 25 years and right now I’m the most un interested and dis engaged I’ve ever been. It’s not even about the results, it’s what we are becoming as a club. Ok people say the club were saved but realistically we are dying in front of our eyes. There is so much wrong both on and off the pitch. I don’t believe all of the negative reports bcus some people have an agenda but I do believe we are in a very very bad place. As a fan if you spend your own money going to watch you want to have an understanding of where that goes, at the moment nobody knows. We are poor in every aspect of how we operate. I’ve been told players salaries, transfers options etc direct from those dealing with them. . . They have no care about these players as humans or people. The level of unprofessionalism is just madness, and I dread to think how certain members running the club are viewed during the wider football world. I don’t mind if we lose games if it appears there is an end goal or a process, but right now I don’t think there is. The quality of personnel we have now compared to under Roland is not even comparable. Vetekole, Buyens, Gudmonson, Aribo, Taylor etc. . . We have declined in every aspect of operating as a club. I don’t think Garner will get sacked as firstly they won’t want to pay the costs to do this and also I really don’t know what sort of credible manager would now want to join us. I’m sure players will be sold in January and i really think we are bang in a relegation battle. I know people like Curbs, Scott Minto and Steve Brown have a job to do on Charlton TV but it must kill them seeing what is happening to this club. We need change. . . And fast but I just don’t think any of it happens.
Don’t know where these rumours on numbers come from.
He will want back what he has spent realistically but hope for more. But know he’d be lucky to walk away at breakeven.
He came with the right intentions, thought it would run itself with a bit of his commercial input but now knows it’s not as simple as he hoped. He will feel let down by some staff, the playing side and some advisors.
He will know in his heart some of his actions and decisions are the main issue but pride and human nature means he doesn’t want to admit that.
If there are genuine buyers out there then they need to step forward quickly.

No chance they drift off. Attendances obviously going to be lower in League 1 but they’ll be back, something not guaranteed for us. They might not sell out often but they’ve had ownership issues and still have large attendances. We can’t compare ourselves to the likes of Sunderland or Wednesday, but I’m not surprised Sandgaard did.

Lucky to walk away at break even? He’ll be lucky to get 10% of his losses, the club is worthless.
I don't like to make a comparison between Duchatelet and Sandgaard, but the comparisons can't be ignored in terms of ownership of Charlton. Both made fortunes in their respective fields, Duchatelet in semi-conductors and Sandgaard in medical supplies, they then get into a football club and firmly believe they can make a success of this club with very little outlay, they listen to nobody, they are right even in the face of undeniable evidence. They both at some point influence team selection if not tactics despite employing managers with far greater experience than them, when it goes wrong, they sack those managers, costing them more money. The supporters are not supporters, they are consumers/customers even though the supporters of this club, through their history, know the club's financial history better than they ever will. They then reach a point where they have run up debts that their business plan is wholly responsible for and want that money back in its entirety. It amazes me how we keep getting these people turn up on our doorstep, they both could have kept their losses down if they would have put the right people in charge and listened, both are unlikely to regain their lost outlay while we try to find another owner who will have to deal with two deluded individuals before managing to save the club.

Read out his sons ‘hot air’ tweets.
Make him listen to his comments during the first interview with Simon Jordan.

Why would anyone go to the trouble just to deliver an off the cuff remark to the fan advisor?

He'd definitely be an out & out winner on " Call my bluff" !
