Welcome back @ForeverAddickted and well done on continuing with these, I am certain it'll be far easier than last season.
Starting eleven for the first game is always tough but when we played two friendlies last week, when we have a new manager, new players, and a depth of midfield that I don't think I have seen before, it makes it even more difficult.
I think we could maybe see a midfield 3 who were here last season, only because McGrandles and Payne have played only 45 minutes and although McGrandles looked good and is naturally fit, a game this weekend may come a little too soon. You have to also reward those who have done well in pre-season.
Hopefully Aneke injury is okay and we sign one or two soon making us even stronger. I don't think this is going to be Garner's strongest team but it's early.
Not sure of our strongest team yet. Maybe it is a little too early to expect them to "click" into the new system? Unfortunately, I don`t think we will come away with any points from this first game.
Would love that. I'm predicting 2-2 though. We gift them an early goal before taking the lead in the second half followed by conceding from a set piece with the last kick of the game.
Ahead of the start of the 2022/23 season, the club can confirm that Manager Ben Garner has named Jayden Stockley as first-team Captain, with summer arrival Eoghan O’Connell serving as Vice-Captain.
Is there an obvious reason I've missed that lead folk to be cool about the prospect of Kirk starting?
Kirk doesn't go wide and cross the ball (if he plays on the left). He nearly always cuts inside, which is easy to stop, unless there is an overlapping wing back/left back. Will Sessignon be that man, bearing in mind he is right footed and tends to also want to cut inside?

I do hope the squad has got around to it by now.
It's the sort of game where set pieces could decide the result.

Ed: Sorry I thought you'd made that up.

I do predict a monumental defensive cock up at some point, so stick with my 0-1
