from the BBC website .. Sandy speaks .. Addicks owner Thomas Sandgaard said the search for Garner's successor was under way, with a caretaker to be appointed.
"In his time at Charlton, the club have achieved some standout results, including big wins against some of the better teams in this league," Sandgaard said of Garner.
"Unfortunately, we haven't been able to sustain a consistency of results and our league position and recent form have left us in a situation where we had to act to give ourselves the best opportunity to get the most from this season as well as building a positive and winning environment for future years.
He expects a "consistency of results" with the teams we've been putting out? Absolute clown
1 - TS' judgment given we're now on his 3rd apt since he took over 2 - If we're cost cutting, he's now cost himself a severance pay 3 - No one of any reputation will want anything to do with us, thus restricting us to the football management equivalents of Dangerfield 4 - He has now placed the team in real danger of going down, given the disruption at this stage in the season, and the subsequent lack of quality in the squad. The end result is if we do go down, investment or a seller looks less likely 5 - TS has likely now alienated any fans he may have had on side
The bloke's an idiot. Got involved in something he had absolutely no clue about, played some guitar, threw away some money on largely crap players, alienated staff with his bad management of the club, narcissistically appointed his son as scout with no prior knowledge of football apart from possessing a powerful shot. We have David Brent at the helm.
Amazing how badly he's handled this. I recall at the start of last season questioning the likes of Airman to give him a chance, but he could obviously see what we all see now. Rob7Lee, Fanny, all called it. The bloke should take his guitar back to Colorado and stay there.
I don't think Garner was ever the answer, nor did I think it was Jackson or Adkins, but ultimately that means TS has got it wrong, 3 times in a row
Ridiculous decision. But when Garner came out a couple of weeks ago and started openly complaining about the squad, it felt like it was always going to come to this.
I don't think another manager could do significantly better with this team. I also don't know how you're going to attract a systems manager focused on high press and possession with this setup.
This is dumb. I've been critical of people comparing TS to Roland up to this point (or even saying Roland was better), but I think we're straying into Roland territory.
And probably why he bought JFC on in the 92nd minute the other day to really pee TS off and hurry things along
Garner failed at both Bristol and Swindon. Did hè win anything NO.
Failed at Charlton. Second division players for championship pushing club.
Everything is truly up in the air now plus we now have Varneys comments as extra confusion.
Because he not selling why sack a manager and pay compensation for him and his staff if he was selling .. could have done what Slater and TJ done leave the new owner to sack the boss
Stop fucking sacking managers , I change my whatsapp pic each time (Charlton manager is my pic but Charlton badge inbetween times ) I look like an emotional teenager ffs
We have a really shit squad of players thanks to Banjo Bill. I don't agree that a new manager will suddenly get them performing better. Maybe a new manager bounce for a game or two but that's about it.
Comments
This season is on him, nobody else
Why sack him if he wants to sell club.

Useless, incompetent wally
we will be scraping the bargain basement

Nobody of any quality is going to want the Charlton job, so that means a very underwhelming new manager I’m afraid
