The arrogance of Sandgaard is laughable. Does he truly think he equipped BG well enough to do well? Get ready for some American puppet to come in and for us to be playing in league 2 next season. Silly cnut.
Do you still message him? If yes, then let him know he's a prick. Cheers mate
Absolutely ridiculous decision. Brought in with a remit to change the culture at the club and adopt a new playing style and then hung out to dry by the owner and not given the tools to fulfil the brief.
Genuinely believe Ben was sold a pup and promises around budget and squad investment have been broken.
Any self respecting manager will run a mile if we come knocking. A squad full of gutless shitehawks, half of which spend most of their time injured.
How the hell can you let a bloke take training and then mug him off straight away afterwards?
I have always aired towards Sandgaard being well intentioned, but just having too big an ego to make things work.
I now think he is just a twat.
We are becoming (have become) an even bigger freakshow under him.
Will be in the same position in 9 months time. Least I’ve cared about the club in my whole life.
Same here mate, couldn’t give a toss. I think it was @Chirpy Red who got slaughtered on here a few years ago for referring to us as shitty little south London club, but that’s exactly what we’ve become.
Not backed properly in the transfer market, and his squad also badly affected by injuries, so a difficult situation for anyone, though Garner hasn't endeared himself to me with his constant whining about officials.
Some of his recent comments were very similar to Scott Parker's before Bournemouth sacked him.
Sorry for Garner. He got a bum deal from Sandgaard but to be honest I never really became a fan. His recent behaviours were clearly intended to facilitate his exit. I'm not sorry to see him go per se but I am now fearing for the future of the club. Only the needy and desperate need apply and even then this might be a stretch too far. What have we become?
Like his style of play or nor, just what could Garner do. 1)He got shafted in the transfer window 2)So many injuries p,playing 17 /18 year olds, 3)No doubt the family were sticking their ore in at every opportunity
This club is a laughing stock, they can get stuffed for all I care.
Proper buzzkill that. I know there's been some bad results, but that was the most enjoyable football to watch at Charlton in a long while. Gutted about that.
I think it’s bollocks, it’s a move from the ownership to cover their own tracks, Garner went public and that was never going to end well. Shame, I think given the resources we had a good manager there. Total fuckin shambles our club, a cursed entity.
You give a manager a threadbare squad that is lacking depth in key areas, you cut the budget in an attempt to somehow break even, and in addition to that 4-5 first team players are currently injured, plus he's still in both cups and you sack him.
Shambles. I’m done until Sandgaard has gone. What’s the point even debating or getting excited about a new manager? Nothing will change with this owner. He’s useless, clueless and arrogant and hasn’t got the money.
TS claims he wants a style of play and is bringing in a manager to do it. Doesn't back that manager with the tools to do it. Sacks the manager for not being able to do it.
However Charlton have taken only two points from their past five League One matches to slip to 17th, just seven points above the relegation zone.
Addicks owner Thomas Sandgaard said the search for Garner's successor was under way, with a caretaker to be appointed.
"In his time at Charlton, the club have achieved some standout results, including big wins against some of the better teams in this league," Sandgaard said of Garner.
"Unfortunately, we haven't been able to sustain a consistency of results and our league position and recent form have left us in a situation where we had to act to give ourselves the best opportunity to get the most from this season as well as building a positive and winning environment for future years.
More to follow. **
I bloody hope not because what's gone on before has done my noggin in.

Oh well, back to lumping it to Stockley
We’re right back in Roland land. How unlucky can one club be to get this long succession of owners?

Fuck off Sandgaard.

Crazy mismanagement by TS.
League One side Charlton Athletic have sacked manager Ben Garner after less than six months in charge.
The 42-year-old only joined the club from Swindon in June, signing a three-year-deal at The Valley.
