  • Cracking read this thread with some great laughs but blimey some of you can tuck it away, some of those plates contain enough food for two people.

See you on the “Let’s get stoned” thread in January

  • AAjr cooked us uck, roast spuds, red cabbage with apple, broccoli and leeks with bacon, roast parsnips.  Gravy in the gravy boat not in picture.  It's a bit of a sight because (a) AAjr plated it and his presentation skills aren't on a par with his cooking skills and (b) even with out biggest 15" plates there wasn't enough room to lay it all out.
Is that “uck” with a silent “y”?
    Duck with a silent d
  • Had another roast last night.
  • For breakfast this morning, porridge, banana, cinnamon and Bailey extra thick cream, just helping to clear the fridge out.

I had cheese on toast with the scrapings of the cheeseboard, 6 different cheeses across 2 slices of bread

I am sure I read somewhere recently that criss crossing sprouts isn’t necessary.
Youtube is also full of advice to air fry sprouts (and other vegetables).

Sprouts should not be crossed. Just over cooks them and takes the flavour away.

Mine doesn't look like much, presentation-wise, but it's the best Xmas Dinner I've ever had. Because of all the Xmas Dinners I've had, none before today have been driven from Lewisham to Barnet for me while I've been suffering from a severe throat and ear infection. Cheers Mum (and Dad), you really knocked this one out of the park. Least I could do was eat (most of) it straight out of the ridiculous dish you brought it in x

Who are you to be criticizing my plates?
    "Ridiculous" indeed.

are you all having an individual turkey each?

Very prim and proper. Looks like a very nice room to have lunch/dinner in.
    Where do you live?
One of those settings going spare?

  • Magic thread. Laughed out loud many times at the sublime abuse. Needed that after reading the many current threads about the club.

Thanks. We’re in a 400 year old cottage on the Isle of Wight.

    Bit of a trek that.
I will give it a miss then mate and grab a curry.
  • Just caught up with this, fuck me there are some funny “spit your tea out” comments.

Main take-away from me is the surprise that some people appear to have as few as two roast potatoes on the plate. Best bit for me and usually have 5/6.
