The recipe for success according to Nathan appears to be:
GK: Veteran keeper who commands his defence
WBs: Pacy, rangy, the main outlets for the side, expected to get a lot of crosses in
CBs: at least one horrible bastard, one that has the pace to sweep behind and cover, and one that can ping long balls and push forwards into midfield when attacking.
CMs: proper box to box midfielders, not afraid of a tackle but contribute to the attacking flow of the game
AM: tricky, dead ball specialist, able to find pockets of space and turn and play in the strikers
STs: one big lump, a physical specimen, with a crafty striker off him with pace and terrier like harrying

Let's see if it works out, but I believe Berry is a big piece of the jigsaw

This does look to be the formula , would think Berry slides in nicely to one of the CM slots and the AM is still to come.

Hasn’t Berry also played as an AM?

I would be surprised if we see Alfie in a charlton shirt again unfortunately.. Seems to be Huddersfield number 1 target..
Have you heard why that is, as I don't see what is has to do with him being Huddersfield no.1 target.

Is it Alfie wanting to leave, Jones pushing him out, or owners wanting to make a quick profit after a year?

I'll go for the latter two probabilities.

Yeah at Cambridge I think he played as more of an AM.

Another name that has been mentioned albeit very briefly is in our sights too.  A good age, he caught the eye last season and is surplus to requirements I would think.  We will see if we can have him

    He's 74 years old ffs.
Still get more minutes than Aneke then.

Penny Lover - we are signing Matt Penney again, must mean Small is off.

Wouldn't have thought @Carter would have wanted help from that source with his historic 'lost fingernail' issue. He would definitely have been dancing on the ceiling.

Unless he's like a brick house, ok ok I know it was a Commodores song.

I know it's become part of this pages charm, but if people could try and ignore the attention seeking posts from golfaddick then there would be a lot less crap to scroll though every time we open the forum up.

Going to say a mixture of things, wouldn’t say it’s the owners.. Won’t be the first name on Jones team sheet, Huddersfield willing to offer a good payrise..

Every keeps going on about losing May, CBT and Dobson.. maybe not these guys fault, but let’s not forget, they have all been in bottom to mid table league 1 side, and all unproven if they can do it any higher, if we are bringing in an higher calibre of player, we’ll i am good with them going.. I think next 10 days, things going to ramp up..

I would say, this week we might see, Berry, Edwards, Mitchell, Davies plus one other..

Out of interest, do you have an examples of a higher calibre player than Alfie May? I can’t really think of any that we could realistic sign.

Theo Bair certainly isn’t higher calibre and is unproven outside of one decent season in Scotland, and it even looks like he’s way out of our reach. Same goes for Etete, although that looks more possible to get a deal done.

It just seems bonkers to sell your best player to a league rival.
    All day long, it's madness.
