  • Tiafoe Arnaldi into a fifth set.
  • Raducanu’s 22nd seed opponent Alexandrova has pulled out with illness. Emma will instead be facing a lucky loser from qualifying, Renata Zarazua.
  • Sabalenka has also pulled out meaning No. 1 Court schedule has been shuffled and her match replaced by Madison Keys v Martina Trevisan.

Brit Charlie Broom got the brush off from multi slam winner Stan the man Wawrinka in 3 sets but Charlie had chances in the 1st two sets.

21 year old Brit Arthur Ferry who has learnt his tennis in the USA college system is only 5ft 9in tall and is against the German Altmaier. 1 set all and is a break up in the 3rd.
  • Raducanu not playing well. Too many unforced errors and poor shot choices

Raducanu was a tad nervy today but found her form in the 1st set tie break and improved against a decent 'lucky loser'.
Emma said she emulated England and "won ugly"

Maybe she should wear a Spanish football shirt before her next match, and emulate them instead!

Glad to see at least one article in the media about Kartal and Miyazaki's wins - Kartal's particularly impressive.

Shame Draper and Boutler not on Centre or No. 1 today
  • Murray not playing the singles, but still planning to play the doubles with his brother. Someone will be moved to Centre Court as a result. I presume.

Yes, just seen that. Hopefully Draper

Boulter as the British number 1 and a seed should have been on centre court and Draper as the new British number 1 should've been on court one today.
Boulter should get an upgrade especially as Emma Raducanu got to play their yesterday.

I didn't know about Kartal until I looked up all the British ratings for the men and women. I believe she is another Brit who have been on the USA college route.

Arthur Fery has also been in the states and was unfortunate in having a thigh strain when leading his match before losing in 5 sets.
  • Murray not playing the singles, but still planning to play the doubles with his brother. Someone will be moved to Centre Court as a result. I presume.

Watching him warming up on TV yesterday he may struggle to even play the doubles.
Shame as it will surely be his last hurrah after being the best of the rest along with Stan Wawrinka after the big 3 of the bendy Serb, the Spanish muscle man and Mr Cool himself, Roger the man with the white jacket.
  • All the wildcards in the Men's draw allocated to British players - have to hope some of them take advantage.

Only 4 of the 8 wilcards in the women's draw went to British players.

You got your wish Princess, Jack Draper will go to the ball on centre court.

why do you say Boulter on Centre and Draper on one though?
  • Six British wildcards out in the men's singles - Jubb, Harris and Choinski lose today. A wasted opportunity.
  • Fearnley through - finally a win.

Straight sets too, great result. Will be fascinating to see how he gets on against Djokovic.
  • why has the BBC feed for the Draper game gone to the Norrie match? Can't you watch Norrie on iplayer if you want? I tried to find the Draper match on iplayer but when I selected it, it is showing the Norrie one!
I appreciate the Draper game has gone into a 5th but it is a great match. Norrie is leading 2 sets to love and a break up at 2 - 0 so not exactly a pivotal moment.
    Now a double break
  • Searle out as well. One out of eight wildcards going through is a very poor return for British tennis.

    oh yes, my bad
  • Draper and Norrie both win, setting up a Draper v Norrie second round match.
  • Phew - well done Jack Draper!

Only found out today he is right handed in everything except tennis. Akin to Rafa. Odd to see him throwing balls into the crowd with his right hand/arm! Writing maybe but throwing compared to serving more unusual?

I would give my right arm to be Ambidextrous!

I was so into the tennis that the football took second place yesterday.

Jack Draper and Katie Boulter had opponents that played at the top of their form and it was good to see both battle away despite their A game not quite there on the day- evening in Jack's case under the roof for the 5th set.

I wouldn't personally go for a £30 ground pass today as forecast not looking great.
I always used to go on one of the first 3 days when there was 0% of rain. If you are on centre or number 1 now obviously the rain isn't a factor any more.

Me too re the tennis over the football yesterday

I have been quite a lot starting when my dad took me most years for a while - (his fault thanks to him I became a Charlton support too!). But then only when we have had Centre or /No. 1 Court tickets in the last 25 or so years. I have been very lucky with the ballot.  I think the odds aren't as good now it is online and you don't have to send in the SAEs

Now Andy Murray is in the mixed doubles - with Emma Raducanu!
  • Another win for Kartal who progresses to round 3. Tough opponent in the next round though… Coco Gauff!
