I wanted Boulter and Draper to win yesterday and still trying to work out how the emotional Harriet Dart won after she was crying at 6-2 down in the Tie break. Personally think it put off Katie who just made too many unforced errors and just didn't get into top gear.
Didn't see all the Draper V Norrie match but TBF Norrie was the better player from the start and Jack just couldn't find his A game and even his brilliant service was erratic.
Emma Raducanu looks the best bet though she has a tough match today.
Raducanu up to 92 in the rankings. Let's hope she stays injury free.
Kartal outclassed by Gauff.
It seems she is in a much, much better place. Has finally, got the fitness level and stamina needed for the tour. As the Johns and others have confirmed, she went from 0 (doing her A levels and not playing much tennis) to 100% far, far too quickly and it took it's toll - not like the gradual build up of someone like Gauff. Seems she has re-set. That said, it isn't always going to be an upwards trajectory, as Konta was just saying - but being in such a better place will help massively
Kartal did pretty damn fine in the first set, for a world 298. An impressive Wimbledon for her.
Straight sets victory for Emma over the 9th seed. 6-2 6-3.
She will play a qualifier in the fourth round…
The qualifier is Lulu Sun, playing under the New Zealand flag. She was born in Te Anau in the south of the South Island to a Croatian father and Chinese mother. She is the first NZ woman to reach the last 16 since 1959.
She was raised in Switzerland from the age of five, then attended college at the University of Texas, US. She played junior Wimbledon in 2018 losing in the 2nd round.
Ive mixed loyalties. It would be fantastic to see her reach new heights but I’m a fan of Emma’s and I’ll stick with her I think.
Raducanu and Kartal playing today with Norrie and Dart playing tomorrow.
Will any of them make the second week?
On rankings only Draper or Boulter had a realistic chance of the 2nd week but they have both gone and now it's down to the happy, injury free 🤞🏻talented Emma Raducanu and after watching at Nottingham and Wimbledon the emotional and unstable Harriet Dart who somehow beat KB from 6-2 down in tie break and a flood of tears.

Thanks for the Shout out on Lulu Sun. Both Lulu and Emma have Chinese mother's and eastern European Fathers, plus both moved from their place of birth.
Harriet Dart match has started on Court 2 against Xinyu Wang. Long 1st game that Wang eventually won.
After hitting the Bullseye against Boulter I hope Dart doesn't hit too many doubles today. After the way she acted against Katie I will watch this match as a neutral.

One of a number of players whose connection to their nominated country is pretty weak. Indeed Cameron Norrie is far more of a Kiwi than she is!
After losing to Katie Boulter in two sets recently did Emma Raducanu believe sho would still be in the singles by day 7 ? She is a confident girl so maybe, but perhaps Andy Murray thought she would be out the singles.
Comments
Edit: Andy looks like he's still hobbling a bit - clearly not right. Can't see him lasting, unfortunately. So the mixed might be a non-starter
It does feel that way , I looked at some of the Olympics squads and no Brownlee Brothers and no Jason and Laura Kenny just looks so weird!
Some sports are already set up for their next generation but things like tennis I don't know if Norrie or Draper will ever be Andy's level.

I didn't want to jinx a thing by looking at who she'd play if she won!

Coco Gauff to win her 2nd slam at 20 years old.
Anyone know the draw as I think Emma Raducanu can go deep Into the tournament but I don't see her beating Coco; really hope I wrong if they meet.
I'm not entirely surprised, she has a great chance of a significant run in the singles, and probably didn't need the distraction.
Maybe Andy should have chosen another partner.

20 minutes after posting this he goes slipping and sliding and hurts his knee. Carrying on with a slight limp 🤦🏻♂️
