  • Another win for Kartal who progresses to round 3. Tough opponent in the next round though… Coco Gauff!
Up over 100 places in the rankings and back inside the top 200.
  • Day 4…

    Centre:

  • Raducanu v Mertens shortly on No. 1 Court
  • Evans out in straight sets - his form has been shocking this year.

    Raducanu looks VERY impressive.

Did not expect her to take down a player of Mertens calibre 6-1 6-2.
  • This happy and fit Emma Raducanu is playing at a very high standard.
She took Mertens apart and the Girl has charisma.
I heard Coco Gauff is in Emma's side of the draw and she would be my tip to reach the final but it's great to see Raducanu winning matches and rising up the ratings.
  • Emma jokingly said in her post match interview that playing doubles with Andy would help her “learn a thing or two about coming to the net”.

its true though - played some great shots at the net but there were a few poor choices at the net in both rounds
  • Berrettini playing well against Sinner thus far…
  • Day 4…

    Centre:
    Fearnley v Djokovic followed by
    Swiatek v Martic followed by
    Hijikata / Peers v Murray / Murray

Day 4 and a first round doubles match one of the 3 scheduled matches on centre court.

    That’s a joke.

A very Brit heavy day, with 2 all Brit games on Court 1, and the Murrays on Centre.

I guess Wimbledon will say that they are giving the audiences on Centre and 1 what they want.
  • Would have been nice to give the general public a chance to see him for once rather than rich

by all means move the later rounds in there for the Murray’s or fit them in after the the main games have finished.

risk assessing his last game being on Centre? Although there is the mixed as well now

The Murray's first doubles match was meant to be on Friday but the BBC didn't want an possible clash with the Portugal v France match, apparently. The AELTC wanted to give him another day to recover but the BBC prevailed

Although there is another potential clash when Murray and Raducanu play their first mixed doubles on Friday
  • Raducanu on the verge of getting back in the top 100 in the rankings. Hopefully can stay injury free.

Bloody hell, it's difficult enough as it is getting a Brit into the second week in the singles without them playing each other 🙄

at least then they can't both lose!

Enjoying Monfils & Wawrinka rolling back the years while Brits are playing on the show courts…
  • This Boulter - Dart match is a cracker

  • Katie Boulter is a cracker
  • Fearnley takes the third set against Djokovic
  • Dart crying at 6-2 down in deciding tie break
Boulter has to wait for her to stop crying before carrying on.

Boulter then goes into meltdown mode and loses the tie break
  • That Dart wound me up all the tears , drama , moaning ...
beat Boulter in a tie break

Funny one that.  Obviously worked 6-2 back to 6-6 and then the win, but not seen many players in tears mid-match!

Taking a leaf from Ronaldo's book!
  • Was embarrassing and obviously affected Boulter's game.
  • I'll be honest me and One Lung are biased cos Boulter's easy on the eye ... shameful the pair of us
  • To be honest they were both pretty poor.

Good performance by Fearnley against Djokovic. Nice interview by Djokovic.

Hopefully Fearnley can kick on from here.
  • Shame that Fearnley couldn’t force the fifth set but a really good showing. He has a good future on the men’s tour on that evidence.
