It will if we keep thinking the reflex jerk action of sacking the manager is a good idea. It has repeatedly proven a bad idea. When we sacked Appleton I disagreed with it and I disagree with it now. The problem can’t be the manager. It partially comes down to moden days’ players’ attitudes. They think that they can play like shit because the manager will be gone soon anyway. Sometimes they play like shit to intentionally get him sacked relying on this ’lost the dressing room’ bollocks. It’s the players you should be angry with not the manager. I’d like them to realise that the manager is staying put and they have to get in with it, do their best whether they like him or not, or else it is THEY who will be on the scrapheap, stupid useless bunch of pussies. Remember that: 99.9% wanted Appleton sacked and that Jones proved he could get decent results at the start of his contract. You were behind him then so stick by him. If the football is that shit then just don’t go. He probably pissed off the players somewhere after the Reading game but come on!...get over it!......man up you pussies (the players).
I agree with not sacking Jones. Not because I want him to stay but because, as you say, his replacement will just be more of the same. No decent manager who wants to manage in the Championship or, dare I say it, the Prem would touch us with a barge pole. Too much money is needed to get us promoted & the current squad will once again need a hugh overhaul.
Better the devil you know. Stick with him......just recruit better. Otherwise we'll be saying the same thing in the summer after we've had 6 months of yet another numpty who doesn't know a 30 goal a season striker from Ahadme.
No I want him to suffer for as long as possible. Sick of these managers given the way out and a pay off.
If he is to be replaced as manager I want him and all our other failed ex managers be forced to watch every game of ours home and away till their contracts run out. If they show any enjoyment they get pelted with those rubber pigs.

Our club has a long track record of sacking a manager and replacing him with a worse one. Curbs, Dowie, Reed, Pardew Powell, Riga, Millwall Bob, Luzon, Fraeye. Jacko, Holden, Appleton, Jones.
last 2 home games, played off the park by a team in the relegation zone and then by another team below us in the table .. doesn't matter who is selected or on what 'formation' Jones dreams up, we are playing unacceptable rubbish at home .. seems the unexpected win at Walsall and the point from a mediocre, drab draw at Lincoln are keeping the Jones Boy in a job .. Fings Can Only Get Better (fingers n toes crossed)

Very disappointing game last night. Realistically that competition should be a relatively achievable route to Wembley for a club of our size but last night 0-2 flattered us and it could easily have been 0-5 or 0-6. Orient absolutely battered us. If we play anything like that on Saturday then Cloughie’s boys will thump us and the crowd will be going absolutely loopy.
We desperately need someone creative who will demand the ball and make stuff happen. Everyone is too scared to give it away so we constantly go backwards for the safe option. That’s why Enslin was rated so highly against Bromley – he wanted the ball and wanted to make things happen. He tried passes that were tricky but didn’t get disheartened when they didn’t work out.
Kaheim started off industriously last night but then barely touched the ball for the second 20 minutes of the 1st half as we couldn’t get hold of the ball. Really tough to play him out wide and have Josh Laq as the other player on that wing. Surely one or the other would make more sense rather than two inexperienced players on that flank.
Docherty had a poor game and nothing worked for him. Same for Berry. Taylor, when he came on was poor too. Tyreece has gone massively backwards recently and needs to get his confidence back. Thierry is good at getting forward but his crossing is very poor. Miles makes it far too easy for defenders because he doesn’t use his body enough (I had a good chat with Carl about this at half time). Godden is pretty much useless outside the 18 yard area. Godden has the senior experience so should be helping Miles and “coaching” him in the games but that doesn’t seem to be happening
Last night was a perfect storm really. A Charlton side seemingly unfamiliar with each other and and Orient side who smelled blood. Nathan can rant and rave all he wants on the sidelines but we were so far off it from the first kick last night.

Charlton didn't sack Curbs.
Didnt we? - I thought he got released a year before the end of his Contract which Curbs himself was happy to see out
Murray on the other hand didnt want to go into that Summer with the uncertainty surrounding the Manager when trying to sign players on a long term project

He was explaining what Miles needed to do to be more effective as a target man but stated he wasn't doing it. Not sure if he is doing as he's told (by coaches) or if he doesn't want to be a target man and is only treated like one because of his size.
I have seen the best, Birmingham and Walsall, then the worst Crawley and Orient, and Bristol Rovers a few weeks ago, in the few games that I can get to. I am struggling to draw conclusions but feel teams are built on a solid defence, so missing Ramsey and Jones for a long time has been crucial. The midfield is inadequate creatively and defensively and we don't get wide and deliver to Leaburn or Ahadme which would play to their strengths. Then we pick both against Crawley and lump it even more, madness. I don't believe the manager helps with his touchline histrionics but if the crowds get much smaller at least the players will be able to hear him. We have clearly not got recruitment anywhere near correct and need to revue and sort this as a priority. I am given to understand the owners are decent, and have made some interesting changes and appointments. Let us hope they have the wisdom to make the changes and improvements neccesary. Remember we have had dodgy ownership for some years so the improvement needed may take longer than we all hope.

Seriously ? You disagreed with sacking appleton ? "the reflex jerk action" very likely saved us from being relegated.
"The problem can’t be the manager" Really ? Have you seen the style of football that we are playing ? NJ sold the Third Divisions leading scorer to bring in an absolute shit show of players to play kick & rush similar to what I played in the school playground in the 60s & to be honest I think we put in more effort back then so could have possibly got a result against this current bunch. "the reflex jerk action" ? Get him out together with his pile of shit ex Luton players.
When top scorer Alfie May was sold, a lot of us were shocked and thought it was a ridiculous decision. It later came out that NJ decided Alfie May did not suit the way he wanted to play, and we ended up with Godden and two tall centre forwards and no wingers. He felt his setup would provide goals from the rest of the team, which would spread the responsibility more than relying on just one striker to get the goals. Most of us reluctantly accepted this decision and awaited the outcome.
Well, IMO, this tactic has failed miserably, as we continue to offer no consistent threat to opposition defences match after match. The football has been generally poor and the players don't seem to be enjoying it and even know what their roles are sometimes.
The forwards have virtually been starved of service all season and his ongoing "style" of play shows no signs that this is about to change.
I grant him he has sorted out the defence (which was the priority from last season), but there has been no improvement elsewhere on the pitch.
I had high hopes NJ was going to be the manager to take us forward, but he has only shown skill for the defensive part of the game so far and the rest is just a shambles.
I accept that injuries have played their part, but he has not shown (to me) that he knows who his best eleven is yet, as there have been a lot of changes to the line-ups all season.
The loyal fans have shown good support but with no entertainment on show, how long will it last?

There's 0 doubts regarding Appleton. Had we stuck we would be a League2 team imo. We were dead and buried under him, no fight.

Both can be right. You dont sack someone and let them stay on for a few months.
Curbs made the decision to leave, Murray decided to avoid the uncertainty and thought that a Muppet would be the better option.
Curbs made the decision, that at that point in time, he wasn’t going to renew his contract but was willing to do the final year of his contract (the one where staying up was important due to a TV revenue increase coming the season after ) Murray decided no I don’t want that, it may affect players joining us, so on your way Curbs and no I don’t want your assistance in helping me find a successor to your throne , I’d rather offer Dowie a war chest to spunk on shit rather than the greatest modern day manager of Charlton .
When Leaburn first came back into the side he was challenging and winning headers, which used to be one of his biggest weaknesses prior to injury. He seems to have reverted back to half heartedly jumping with no desire to actually win the header and I don't think he won a single header last night.
Even Godden was winning a fair few last night but as always with us, was flicking them on to nobody.
Every time we get the ball anywhere on the pitch we never have any options open to pass forward to, which inevitably results in passing it to the CB and lumping it. There's never anyone overlapping on the wing, so when we do get the ball there we don't progress it and never really whip any crosses in. We can't attack down the middle, we can't attack down the wing, it's no wonder we've mustered up 18 goals all season.
I get that Jones' system is to press and win the ball high up and go from there but in the first half Orient gifted us the ball a few times in promising positions, just for us to kill the attack dead quicker than it began so even that doesn't seem an option
Leaburn won 10 aerial duels out of 21 and Godden won 7 of 9 according to sofascore. That is an abysmal % by Leaburn

The stats do say the defence has improved 7 league clean sheets from 18 and joint 6th best defensive record but why do I still feel nervous when we face an attack? Jones makes a tremendous difference back there but for some reason I still don't feel 100% confident. I wouldn't say we have a defence fit for promotion. Interested in hearing others opinions?

Maybe, what % is considered good?
I'd be expecting someone who's 6ft6 to be winning at least 3/4s of his battles. I don't want to plough into Leaburn he's had a tough 18 months but I do struggle to see his USP. I've made it clear I don't think he will ever be a Prem player but he's got to settle into a style of play for him to push on

Didn’t Murray say that he gave Dowie 10 million rather than the 2 million he was going to give Curbs? I don’t know the exact chronology but that would have felt like being eased out if you were AC. He knew the squad needed a refresh at the time and that wouldn’t have been enough cash pretty obviously.
I was never convinced Curbs serving his notice so to speak would have been that disastrous, players are used to managers coming and going all the time. And, I’m not sure it could have been any worse than what transpired, but we’ll never know mow.

He's pretty pacey for such a big bloke. He looks lumbering at the moment but maybe that's down to the injury. But prior to that he looked capable of turning and bursting away from defenders. Even in his first game back, he looked very lively but that could have been down to adrenaline.
Also, there is the eye for goal. He hasn't been prolific but that's possibly as much down to the run of downtime he's had (several long periods out). When he's had a run of games, he's shown some good finishing skills and he has a decent, hard shot on him.
Whether the culmination of injuries takes a permanent toll (physically & mentally) remains to be seen but Premier or European top league clubs will be watching any "cheap" strikers who have got Leaburn's physique. Sadly, there will now be question marks about his fitness, can he return to form? and possibly his attitude.

Better the devil you know. Stick with him......just recruit better. Otherwise we'll be saying the same thing in the summer after we've had 6 months of yet another numpty who doesn't know a 30 goal a season striker from Ahadme.

Proper shithouse behaviour. I hope our players remember that and do it back at their place. Wishful thinking probably
If he is to be replaced as manager I want him and all our other failed ex managers be forced to watch every game of ours home and away till their contracts run out. If they show any enjoyment they get pelted with those rubber pigs.
Curbs, Dowie, Reed, Pardew
Powell, Riga, Millwall Bob, Luzon, Fraeye.
Jacko, Holden, Appleton, Jones.
Murray on the other hand didnt want to go into that Summer with the uncertainty surrounding the Manager when trying to sign players on a long term project
NJ: I’m playing 1-5-6-7-1
Terry: But that’s not possible!
NJ: Phased ya! Some formations will be fake
Thank you for replying.
Curbs made the decision to leave, Murray decided to avoid the uncertainty and thought that a Muppet would be the better option.
Murray decided no I don’t want that, it may affect players joining us, so on your way Curbs and no I don’t want your assistance in helping me find a successor to your throne , I’d rather offer Dowie a war chest to spunk on shit rather than the greatest modern day manager of Charlton .
