We've yet to see Jacko with 'legs' like Aribo and Konsa alongside him this season. I think he could do the 'Crofts' job as well as offer the goal threat we know he has with a bit of energy alongside him.

Possible but even Crofts has been dining out on that assist at MK Dons for a while now. Need to see more from him and the midfield in general who with Holmes included are not scoring enough goals.

He should sit just in front of the back four in the middle. He would have autority on the pitch.

I anticipate him managing us when we drop out of the league, and begin the long haul back to League 2. His Charlton hero status will give him kudos and will bring players we otherwise would not be able to get in. Sadly the Valley will have been sold by then despite community asset status as no-one will be able to stump up the value of the real estate. The increasingly cash-strapped local authority will grant planning permission for new development and change of use in exchange for support for community schemes and some infrastructure. There may be a small capacity multiple use sports arena somewhere to demonstrate a commitment to sports as part of a healthy community, but it will have capacity of 2-3 thousand and will largely focus on amateur sports and activities.

    Odd isn't it.

Now people are questioning whether he should now be in the team for leadership and goals.

Recently most thought he was a spent force, as was Morgan Fox.

I personally think he should be involved, we are weak, no leadership and rudderless. JJ would help with all these at the mo...

We really cannot get much worse recently, is it 3 points out of 18?? if JJ was recalled, no doubt he would still get " his time is up".

Put him left back instead of Page.

    We could do worse....

Well, my Dad conceded to being pissed when he suggested Jacko at Left Back.

Next game, Robinson picks him there.

    LOL.

When we get stuffed tonight Robinson walks away with a big payoff.

Big risk - let's hope Jacko has at least one more performance in him.

Makes selling Fox seems even odder given that Page looks to be absolutely hopeless.

At least Page gets to play, Dasilva doesn't even get on the pitch.

3 years ago this month this thread was started- and tonight he starts!

I seem to be the only one who's quite pleased, I think he'll be fine.

I love Jacko he is a proper Charlton legend but he can't play left back.
The thing that puzzles me is why doesn't he tell Robinson that
  • I'm more than happy he's starting.

He's just starting in the wrong position.

Maybe he did but played on JJ's loyalty to twist his arm to do it. Knowing that Jj being the great character he is, would do anything asked.
  • When Jacko first came to us on loan (from Notts County), sure that
he started off as a left back before getting injured.
Sure that he will be fine tonight, decent captain!

Is sounded like Jackson played alright, more the central defenders and midfielders this time.

Couple of the boys who were there said he was terrible, our defense got caught three times on the break.

I was there, he did OK at the start of the game but nothing special either. Difficult to pin any blame entirely on Jackson when all 4 goals conceded were so sloppy.

It's suicidal to play him at left back. Think he can do a job a bit further forward in the team.

He hasn't played for ages either so must have also been struggling for that match sharpness.

Noooooo. He's terrible at left back. He's already "played" there once this season and was awful.

Bring him on after 60 mins in midfield, he might be able to give us 30 mins.
Called it. I think it was the 2nd goal, where their player ran away from him, gliding across the grass, whilst Poor Jacko seemed to have found some quicksand. Just as well his legs haven't gone or he'd have drowned

Will always pop up with a goal. Still worth up to 15 of them if he played every game.

  • LB was ridiculous.

Cant argue his place in the team as captain at CM though, he looks so pumped.

I'm a time of players not giving a flying about the team, you need him in there.
