Not it long to sign these three players we are 100% signing.
I love our transfer windows, they're such a time of happiness and fulfilment3 -
On the positive side at least he knows Marshall.Ferryman said:

Doubt we will sign him, never played a game of first team football, what would be the point? At least you found some sort of link.matt88 said:An actual rumour... Sarkic, a young Villa keeper on loan. Was at Wigan last season but didn’t make an appearance...

I speculated earlier about Mark Bunn at Villa because of the two new signings. Sarkic would be 5th choice now.
I guess this what you get for a limited budget. Sarkic also did play in the Cup games at Wigan in the early part of the season and was an unused sub for Villa as well.
I suspect Villa won't insist he plays so I expect Dillon to be number one.0 -

Hate to say it but whats the point of signing Sarkic... Surely he's no different to Maynard-Brewer just with two FA Cup appearances (Woo), both of which came against Crawley and then Flyde who he conceded two goals against - Seems like one of those cases where I'd rather we develop our own kids (Watching from the bench) rather than another teams for the sake of it7
-
I can see the connection but it just goes completely against what they’ve been saying. They have said about a more experienced keeper to compete with Phillips. There isn’t much point loaning a keeper who is 21 with less experience than Phillips, well in my opinion anyway.7

This all just smacks of desperation, always said would rather develop our own youngsters than somebody else's.4

AMB hasn't established himself at U23 level yet. Understand what you're saying but I believe the Villa boy is currently ahead of Ash in his development and a better prospect at this stage.cfgs said:This all just smacks of desperation, always said would rather develop our own youngsters than somebody else's.

Bow: Roland, can I have 50 grand for a new player?
Roland: 40 grand, what do you need 30 grand for? There's 20 left in the budget, take 10.15 -

But he won't be coming here to sit on the bench will he? I'd rather we develop our own, Phillips.1 -
It does, but we don't like parting with it.ElfsborgAddick said:

He'll be told that Dillon is the current No.1 and the healthy competition comes from his determination to displace him. He probably won't get the Checkatrade games as we have to field at least 5 regulars, Dillon would make that 4. Can't see Roland accepting the fine for not doing so now we no longer have a top 6 budget. The Red Robin said:

And the fact that the squad isn’t big enough to rest players in cups this yearFerryman said:

Possibly illuminating both my age and a worrying liking for Neil Diamond songs.4 -
Why would you rest players for the biggest games of the season?Todds_right_hook said:

Don't toy with my emotions like that, Bielsa would be my dream signing. It would all end in flames in like December, but it'd be a fucking brilliant three months.Sillybilly said:RD should burst the bank and sign Bielsa as coach if he likes working with a squad of 15 players.

But do you really know he hasn't?ricky_otto said:
The thing that surprises me most is that’s Roland has tried to sell him even though he isn’t our player.killerandflash said:JDS could still go abroad, even if nothing happens this week
Indeed, you can imagine him thriving in Europe0 -
I can’t quote you @sam3110. Are you saying Fulham u23’s was our biggest game last season? Robinson made over 9 changes for that competition last year, bowyer will be lucky to field 9 players for it3
-
If size is that big of a concern, then they should try sending him to a team that play 3/5 at the back. I thought he looked really good for England in the Toulan Tournament playing there. We know he can run all day and his touch is very good. And during his time with us I thought his 1-v-1 defending really improved. That wingback role would mean having to defend a lot fewer back post crosses and long diagonals. Really just not playing in League One would mean fewer of those anyway.killerandflash said:JDS could still go abroad, even if nothing happens this week

I'd love to have him back, I think he's a wonderful player, but I just can't see that heppening. I would also worry that yet another year at thus level would stunt his growth, no pun intended.3 - Sponsored links:

I do wonder what sort of side we'll put out in the Checkatrade games, seeing as most of our U23s are now in the first team squad.Todds_right_hook said:

I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Sarmiento and Sarpong-Wiredu getting a game.1 -
This is so depressing, I keep coming back here knowing we will not be signing anyone. The hope that we are all wrong and this time will be different is overwhelming. F*ck off Roland!3
-
Undertaking a small contract and listening to the usual suspects talking about who they might sign and how many millions-----utter kak----just fantasy football really.
If Carlsburg did "UtterCunts" it's Roland4 -
just over 24 hours to go. No signings & not even any credible rumours. Of course, we're 100% signing 3 players aren't we ??4
-
We all know what will happen, we won't sign anyone and Bowyer will say it's fine because the 3 we want to sign are on loan so we have until the end of august. RD will be hoping to complete the takeover before then and skip off into the horizon with his 50 mill. We will then have to limp through to January with a depleted squad. TBH I would take that right now just to be rid of the man.5

I'm actually surprised this thread was created this window and the fact it's reached 110 pages. Genuine rumours surely wouldn't see this thread past 1 page.1

Been out for the day, and come back to deadly silence. This must be the dullest Charlton Life transfer rumour thread ever0

I believe Richard Cawley is away on holiday so no real rumours to get our teeth into...... what real football reporter goes away during transfer deadline week anyway - perhaps he knew already ??
