Peterborough spend again and sign Ivan Toney from Newcastle this morning.1

Thought LB might pull some strings to get him. But we’re not in the transfer game it seemsRedmidland said:Peterborough spend again and sign Ivan Toney from Newcastle this morning.

Could still go out on loan till January after today and then potentially sign for a third club then if we dont play him when he returns thoughCroydon said:If Ajose doesn't go, will Bowyer stop being so stubborn and bring him on off the bench after Taylor/Grant inevitably run themselves into the ground again?

Very good signing for them.Redmidland said:Peterborough spend again and sign Ivan Toney from Newcastle this morning.

Will be interesting to see if they keep Marcus Maddison, one site is reporting that his £2.5m release clause has been met by two Championship sides with Blackburn | Leeds | West Brom | Reading | Aston Villa all interestedricky_otto said:

If he goes then you have to wonder where the service to Godden and Toney comes from
If he stays then that'll be Peterborough's best piece of work in the whole window1 -
good signing, was very impressed with him last seasonRedmidland said:Peterborough spend again and sign Ivan Toney from Newcastle this morning.

My mate - who incidentally doesn't want to renew his season ticket - agrees. Always raving about him and, tbf, he always plays well against usLargeAddick said:

Yeah would sound about right given the challenge, I genuinely thought it could be worse so it's to the point where I'd be willing to take 6 weeks if it really is just six weeks.Redmidland said:Rumours circulating, not sure how true, but it is being said that Pearce could be out for 6 weeks. Now I have no-inside knowledge and just read it elsewhere on another site. Please don't shoot the messenger, but, if true, and we don't bring in anyone else, I think its fair to say we are in even more of the deep brown smelly stuff. I'm hoping its all just a lot of stupid speculation.
That's our captain gone and we're down a body.
Am I the only one who genuinely can't see us bringing anyone else in? Be it on a free, on a loan, etc? Maybe if it's a loan where their entire wages are paid, like with the Villa kid, but I can't see Roland expanding the expenditures.1 -
If it's not the Villa GK it might be Joslain Mayebi.0

Peterborough are really going for it .. the owner has given Evans cash to splash and he's splashed it pretty effectively (on paper at least) .. I've seen Toney several times playing for Scunthorpe .. he's decent, but can seem to lose heart when the going gets toughRedmidland said:Peterborough spend again and sign Ivan Toney from Newcastle this morning.

I reckon our big signing will be that famous Korean Fu Kin Nowan.7

Or what about his Half-Brother... Mayebi-Not?Ferryman said:If it's not the Villa GK it might be Joslain Mayebi.

Not about scoring, it's about having fresh legs on the pitch who can close the ball down when the starting eleven are dead on their feet.wmcf123 said:

I get that it was probably a statement last weekend by LB, but that statement cost us in my opinion. Naive from him.4 -
I asked Bowyer who he was interested in and he just said Sum Ting Wong.ForeverAddickted said:

This is so exciting.9

He's currently involved in a car chase with Steve Bruce apparently.uie2 said:
Coz they are selling Joe BryanBeardface said:Sky Sports News reporting Jay DaSilva likely to be going to Bristol City.
Signed for him then heard of Fulham's interest so bolted to West London with Brucey chasing him. Bryan's agent apparently saying his signature means nothing at this stage. I think this won't be the last we hear on this one0 - Sponsored links:

The energetic Nicky Ajose known for his aggressive closing down and excellent hold up play who wants to commit his long term future to the club?Croydon said:

His ability in the air would be useful defensively as well.9 -
thought that was some sort of joke until I googled him and he's actually a goalkeeperFerryman said:If it's not the Villa GK it might be Joslain Mayebi.

If we keep our current squad it will feel like a victory against the almighty Roland. I don't see anyone coming in and doubt anyone coming will be better than what we already have.
Oh for the Curbs days when deals were signed and sealed before there was even a whiff of a transfer. He was the ultimate poker face. To think we ever complained about being an unambitious mid-table premier league club. Ffs. I know they say be careful what you wish for but my mum could run this club better than Roland.4 -
The Nicky Ajose who was a real team player towards the end of last season? Yeah, him. The one who actually did close players down, fought for his place and scored a vital goal against Portsmouth? That one, not the idea of the player you've got when he was loaned out under Robinson.Scoham said:

Do I think he's the best player ever? Not even close. But I do think that bringing on a proven league one player with fresh legs is better than a striker who is barely jogging when trying to hold out for a point in the dying minutes. If you can't see that then you're as stubborn as Bowyer.
Anyway, wrong thread for this.18 -
So sounds like all loan deals from football league clubs then which means we don't get them all done today but the squad is still way too think for even the coming weekend.1

can't we still loan from PL after today? The Red Robin said:So sounds like all loan deals from football league clubs then which means we don't get them all done today but the squad is still way too think for even the coming weekend.

I think thats what Robin is saying too - Just that our Squad really needs players now rather than in three weeks3 -
In his interview a few days ago, Bowyer was alluding to loans coming in.LargeAddick said:

He might have helped yeah, but which Nicky Ajose do we have at the moment?Croydon said:

He may have also been beaten to a header trying to defend a set piece.
It's always gamble and this time Bowyer's choice to not bring him on didn't work. Another day he'll bring someone on that'll make a difference, or keep someone on that gives the team what it needs.
Other than fresh legs Ajose isn't usually the type of player you bring on in that situation. I can see why he chose not to, even more so with talk of Ajose leaving the club.2
