There is only one party involved - the Aussies - and they have all but buggered off.

If it turns out there's 5 parties involved I shall have a tattoo of a cock done.

    Where?

I suspect the real hangup is the complexity of the price structure. I still think we will find out the deal is at least £50M after all add-ons and things like RD leasing back the Valley or him getting back a percentage of transfer fees are added up.

This is why we keep hearing that "the price is set" instead of hearing that one bidder is out-bidding the other. Who has ever hear of a price being "set" for all parties equally when there are half a dozen bidders? Answer.... when the price is higher than any of them want to pay.

I believe that the joy we will have for one day being sold will go away when we see he has his claws in us even after selling. I hope I am wrong! I worry I am not.

Time to get the EFL back on the case. Can someone not ask them.. "We have been told 5 parties are interested in buying our club. Can you speak to the owner & confirm who the 5 parties are. We obviously don't need to be told the actual names, just as long as you, Mr EFL, are happy that this all true & that your member club isn't lying though it's teeth "

Surely the EFL should be doing DD on the club....making sure they are upholding certain standards....like not fecking lying all the time.

200 Royals? Sounds like about the number due to be executed for their part in covering up Crown prince’s part in the Ashoggi murder.

The EFL can't actually do anything can they? Even if they wanted to, it's not "what they do" anyway. If they should or not is a totally different matter.

I believe that RD thought the aussies would have completed early last year. KM leaving, Robinson saying the plans had changed and Ricky being sold for almost the exact amount to cover the running costs until the "done deal" tweet. All fits that assumption.

What changed, I can't really remember, it obviously didn't happen though. After that it appears he made the ex directors a low ball offer to release the charges. Why? Could it be that "The British Consortium" (TBC) could only complete with free title, as they would have to rent the Valley and or training ground from RD. Maybe they were in a position to take over the running costs but not pay upfront due to a member, the main money man, still being involved at another club?

Once that was rejected TBC were back on the back burner so to speak. I know our Belgium friends don't need much help in looking stupid but the Aussies turning up at both legs of the play offs, and being so open about being there, did exactly that. The fact that they issued a joint statement regarding Bowyer suggests that as well.

The panic sale of Konsa hints that it was held up, at that stage, not cancelled. A half decent accountant could have made the ffp problem disappear quite easily. The cash up front discounts seem to have been a short term solution to a short term problem. There was offers on the table later on that weren't taken so it wasn't an asset stripping fire sale.

Maybe Bowyer couldn't have been made permanent with out agreement in the summer as it would be an added asset, or liability?

In summery I think the assuies have agreed a price, TBC is still an option of last resort, a back stop if you like. No reason to believe other people aren't interested, you will always have rich people stupid enough to think they can make money out of football.

It's pretty obvious that no one, who can afford it, is going to buy us out of love. I don't think the price is the biggest issue on its own. Its the cost of realising the future value that's the problem. 10 or even 20 million isn't that much if you are looking at a 200-300 million project. No one is going to buy the club and try and break even in league 1 as a medium term goal. To paraphrase KM we need to be a championship club with Premier league ambition as a minimum.

To even want to buy the club you need a serious amount of money to risk in the first place.

Why is it the EFL's business at this stage? As fans we are understandably frustrated but unfortunately neither us or the EFL need to know the names.

    Sell on clause my arse...
Even if they weren’t stupid enough to not do that again, Mighty Brentford will still be doing better selling the player they’ve had for only 5-months.
    Rolund is just so clever...

You can always rely on the Sun.

Bielik is twice the player and even he won't get near the Arsenal first team.
  • According to Redrobin on CAFC Picks, price agreed with Aussies around 48 million(can you believe that?) and the Aussies new backers are coming over this week.

Of course I don’t believe any of it and that’s why I’m posting on here, so we can all not believe it but at least we can talk about it for a few hundred pages.

Because CAFC is a member club and it should be an issue to the powers that be if the club's representative is telling pokies. The EFL (should) have a vested interest that all clubs are run properly & that any sale or purchase is legit. They require & insist on a fit & proper test anyway so any potential purchaser should be on their radar. We don't need to be told the names, but if I was the EFL I'd want to know who exactly RD was talking to.

The EFL cannot tell owners how to run the clubs though. Telling “porkies” should not be enough to get them involved. And the fit and proper test will be done if Roland ever agrees a price. They will know that the sale is legit when they do the test. Why would they waste their team researching every potential buyer for the clubs when a lot of those talks go no further?
