I deal with many business deals for share purchases and mergers. It’s very rare that deadlines are ever met and in my experience they normally get set a few more times before they actually happen as so many people are involved and small bits of paper need advisers, signatures etc. That being said a couple of weeks after the deadline is about right so I expect probably a Monday as a Friday is given and normally fall away until a Monday when everyone works on the weekend on the deal. I would suggest Monday 15th July as more realistic

Perhaps the deadline had already been set a few times before?

I heard last week that South Africans were still interested fronted by Donald Muir, the person who told me was correct last time as it was before he was seen with Alex Mcleish down the Valley.

It's nice that they got to keep their surnames. Mr and Mrs IV just have been very proud.

Could the late runner be the Chinese interest rumoured I wonder?
    or Red Bull.
Red Bull you say, we haven’t had that one for about 1500 pages but maybe we should restart an RB Charlton rumour again.
I don’t like the idea of playing in red and blue though.

I do have some news that I've been permitted to mention. The potential new buyer whom I am aware of who emerged after Wembley, has been told that a deal (with another party) is almost done, but if it isn't closed by Tuesday, this buyer will be given a short run at closing it. I have not been told who the likely buying party is, and it may be that this buyer does not know either.

Let's hope that is true. I trust my source, whom I have known for a while. While I'm intrigued by the interested party I know of, being from this neck of the woods, I just want a sale done, fast, we are bleeding talent and it is breaking my heart.
It's not Redbull, they're Austrian. I'm going to throw Daniel Křetínský into the rumour mill... Billionaire president of Sparta Prague

Chizz, Dalman was known to all here before Wembley, thus the horse on the far rails with the late run is someone else. Unless you can post some actual facts.
    Yes. That's what I posted.

Here's a fact: @PragueAddick posted this The potential new buyer whom I am aware of who emerged after Wembley, has been told that a deal (with another party) is almost done, but if it isn't closed by Tuesday, this buyer will be given a short run at closing it.

Dalman is the other party referred to in parenthesis above ("... another party") with whom a deal is "almost done".

The potential new buyer, who apparently emerged after Wembley, has an opportunity to advance its deal, should the other deal (i.e. Dalman) not complete by the aforementioned Tuesday.

    In order, the parties are

    Dalman
The new party who emerged post Wembley
    The Aussies
I think that might be the Aussies.
I'm hearing it's not the Aussies. Dalman being given a window, to speed up the Aussies (or any other interested parties)?

As ever, Duchatelet going for the two birds in the bush rather than the one hand.

Constantly looking for an extra few quid there, dodging a liability here.

Ok.. my source is a proper Charlton fan and an investment banker in the region. His role is as intermediary, finding potential buyers, under his professional remit but for minimal fee. He's a fan. He tried to come with a consortium when RD bought, but came too late, Slater turned them away. He has had no contact with Red Bull, AFAIK, they are deffo not his current buyer

@CAFCSayer Interesting that you chucked Kretinsky in! My mate Vincent, who came with me to Wembley, is a mad Sparta fan, who loves to share Kretinsky horror stories and mull over who is worse, The Kretin or the Helmet. Sparta fans have been volubly protesting for ages (@ElfsborgAddick bears witness to that). A few months ago Vincent gleefully shared a Czech rumour that Kretinsky (who has energy sector interests in the UK) was interested to buy an English club and Leeds and Charlton were in the frame.

However my investment banker buddy, a pragmatist, has professional access to both Kretinsky and Petr Kellner, the richest Czech bizman, who currently doesn't own a club, but who was linked as a possible buyer of Chelsea. What he learnt is that both see a football club as a trophy asset, an ice-breaker in discussions about their main businesses. And with the best will of the world, Charlton's current status does not really fit that bill.

Thanks to Vincent I could offer you loads of lurid stories about Kretinsky, some of  which show weird parallels with RD. But rest assured, he is not in the frame. The latest, as a taster, is that he is studying for UEFA badges. You can imagine why he thinks he needs them...

The Aussies, Redbull, Dalman and Kretinsky have all got to wait until Tuesday when the window for Yvette Fielding and Mark Curry’s acquisition slams shut.

I've just had a horrible thought.  What if the Aussies, Dalman, RedBull, the whole population of China, members of "the European consortium", Richard Murray, Leviathan du Turnip, Tom Rubbershoes, Little Tommy Dresden, The EFL, Jim White and Simon Jordan all read this thread and simply react to rumours they first become aware of here?

It could be that the only things that have ever happened with regards to the takeover are things that have been written here, then re-enacted factum est deinceps, by the named protagonists.
