Charlton Athletic v Huddersfield Town | Tues 10 December | Post-match views

Well, that hurts. Finished 0-1.

A match with a draw all over it, leads to last minute agony.

Focus on the takeover... perhaps this poor run will tease out a little extra emotional and financial investment to propel us further faster, once the new owners get in the door.

Over to you.

League 1 team right now. League one performances

    we move on

We need to get to January and fast. Purrington, Pearce, Sarr all not good enough to be playing regularly.

Bowyer got it wrong. Morgan should have started and Oshilaja was arguably our best player at the weekend now is 4th choice again.

Stop forcing 3 at the back. Each defender running around like headless chickens unable to clear a ball further than 5 yards.

Disgraceful that, playing so badly against a team who almost weren't there and still somehow losing. Is that the third time we've thrown a game away in injury time? Absolutely pathetic. Bowyer needs to seriously sort some stuff out because regardless of injuries this is unacceptable. We've now lost against Luton, Boro and Huddersfield, all teams who can't play football and have been knocked about by other teams all season. The takeover will hopefully bring new players but Bowyer has to sort out how his defence performs sharpish
  • What's really shitty is when you have no confidence in the players and they confirm your fears, game after game after game.

  • We didn't try to play football in any shape or form, so many Long balls forward

Lacked anything creative and honestly didn't look like scoring at any point.

Didn't really go for it with the subs, Hudders where there for the taking

    Negitive and absolutely shocking.

Still behind Bowyer but he is making some odd decisions at the moment.

Lack of creativity and inability to keep focus in the dying minutes is killing us. What has Albie done wrong? Game was crying out for him to unlock a dodgy looking Huddersfield defence.

How many more times are we going to gift the opposition goals?

    Absolute shit again.
  • Hope the new mob have some serious money to spend in January otherwise they’ll be starting the climb to Champions League from League One.

Fucking gutted. Positive spells once Lyle came on and shame for Solly as he'd played a decent game, can't kick the ball to the opposition 5 yards away though. They were such a shit side, I don't know who we even have a chance of beating at the moment. If East Street wants to show they are serious and invest, otherwise we will keep sliding down the table

Neither side were playing for three points and that was a 0-0 draw eighty times out of a hundred.

Absolutely horrific "clearance" from Chris Solly straight back to their bloke and they score.

Hope we have some new players ready for January because we need about five or six of them. The current lot have heart but absolutely zero quality.

Taylor was a miss. No doubt about it but not the end of the world.

Cullen's absence on the other hand is a complete disaster. The midfield offers absolutely nothing without him. As toothless as I've ever seen.

Tough tough Christmas period heading our way

We were awful start to finish. No confidence lack of pressing the ball, we need to get a scrappy goal from somewhere. This now a crisis 7 defeats in 9 games, that is relegation form.

  • Tough going at the moment

5 points from last 10 games.

Still believe JJ and Bowyer can turn this around once players are back in full fitness and playing week in week out together

    Taylor
    Williams
    Cullen
They make us what we are.
Take them out of the team and we are struggling.
Let's get this takeover done and move forward.

We played football maybe twice all game, our slick passing got us in the box twice and we should have done better.

Taylor will go I have no doubt about that. Replacing him and strengthening other areas is going to be extremely difficult.
  • Watched in valley pass, yes it was a poor clearance from Solly but where was the midfield tracking their scorer, on the replay you could see Vennings just watching him run in to the box to score.
Also looking at the stats we're at home and had no shots in target and only 4 crosses all game compared to Towns 14 shots and crosses. We really are in trouble 😫
  • That was shocking

Another terrible goal conceded late on, will we never learn. No way will we stay up if we keep playing like this. Lets just hope the takeover goes through and we can get some new blood in come January and also get the injured players back.

We’re not going down despite this run, turnaround starts in mid-January ... yes I am an optimist but I truly believe it.

Game desperately needed Morgan but maybe Bows was gambling and wanting him for Friday. We immediately looked better with Taylor, but it's not enough.

Sarr was probably the best/least error prone of the entire back 5 tonight which is really saying something.

Leko and Gallagher both guilty of being greedy at times.

    Pratley ineffective.

Alfie was okay. Phillips made some good saves. Bonne was a bit anonymous until Lyle came on.

Scrappy first half, marginally better second, shite late goal yet again.
