Seeing that Posh bought Maddison for £250k, that is superb value for his return in goals and assists, even if they don't get a huge fee when they sell him1

Agree. Teams will wait till the summer and offer a good deal.Rothko said:Taylor’s injury record this season will stop people sending money on him0 -
He’s had an ACL injury and then hasn’t lasted 90 minutes since, the knee will be a flag on a few million pound deal, it will be a calculated and know risk on a free and a smaller signing on fee0

I know it's boring but I think I'd rather not know about the bid. Everyone now has their hopes up and will be disappointed if it doesn't happen.blackpool72 said:Lots of people getting excited on here.
We haven't signed either of them yet.
If and when we do I shall probably get excited .
Until it happens just chill.

I’d be surprised if Taylor moves in January, a 30 year old player currently injured that Southall has said he will only accept silly money for. I should imagine any club that’s prepared to pay that silly money, their insurance company may have something to say about the decision0

With our injuries, I'd say someone's put the Indian sign on us, which is really Norton. It's like their hamstrings are made of Cotton.Cordoban Addick said:

Great Scott! If only the good Lord would shine a Sunbeam on our medical suite to get our players fit at least in time for the Derbi with the scum.
We need our forwards to be emulating the prowess of a Jimmy Greeves and striking like a Panther.0 -
Good. Not enough for us to sell him and could make our offer seem better.ShootersHillGuru said:
I think we might get a few cheeky enquires around the £1 million mark.ValleyGary said:We won’t receive any offers for Taylor0 -
Got to love all these fun and games
Who would of thought it, bid here, bid there, few million here, few million there, polar opposite to what we are used to
Long may it continue
Got to say MS on sky sports news looks like he's having a whale of a time, like a kid in a sweetshop...... Hope he doesn't get to carried away 🤩

On reflection, you might decide this isn't the best thread for you to be on.Talal said:

Being very quite for someone who said neither he or the club would say anything more 🙄🙄🙄Scoham said:14 -
Interesting comment linked to what I asked about not having to pay the whole release clause at once8

Again from the Posh forum;
TFO will have been seeking a smallish transfer fee up front, with hefty add-ons should Charlton avoid the drop. However, combined this is likely to total £0.75m rather than £2.5M

Is the release clause not £2.5M though which he says (in total) we've met?Addickted said:Again from the Posh forum;

Refuse to get too carried away until he signs on the dotted line but would be a great start to the esi era4

You on about Maddison?AFKABartram said:Positives
- We are targeting someone who is recognised as one of the best players in the league below
- We clearly have cash to play with
- He’s a very decent footballer, makes things happen
Negatives
- Question mark around committment during games and big question marks around character off the pitch. Edgy ones with off field reputations have never really been a good fit at Charlton (Leon Clarke etc)
- May be wrong, but doesn’t seem the type from what we have seen who would be top of our managers working wish list0 -
I guess we'd got an agreement in place to pay the £2.5m within an agreeable timeframe - Small payment up front with the rest laterLeeds_Addick said:

Not sure what to make of the moves for Toney and Maddison.If both are being brought in as part of some extra muscle to keep us up - fine. But neither look like the type of long term acquisitions I'd expect from a new owner...or from a manager with cash to spend from a new owner.Proven League One pro's are unlikely to get us promoted to the top flight IMO.5

I’m pleased we are looking at this player and this type of player. Probably gone a bit stale, isn’t going to cost the earth but neither will he come cheap, a number of clubs interested in him and could potentially push on with us next year.
His apparent attitude issues don’t concern me as we know that under Bowyer such an approach will not be tolerated.
Hopefully we will get it done and MS has similar positive relationships with other chairmen across the leagues.0 -
Have to disagree there mate.simonmatthews said:Not sure what to make of the moves for Toney and Maddison.If both are being brought in as part of some extra muscle to keep us up - fine. If we could bring in these two it would be fantastic.25 -
Just asked a Posh mate what he thinks of Maddison and he said this - "Golly gosh, old been. He's got an awful lot of tattoos, what?"21

Didnt work for Sheffield United then? And also when we nearly got in the play offs in with our 1st year back with Powell?simonmatthews said:Not sure what to make of the moves for Toney and Maddison.If both are being brought in as part of some extra muscle to keep us up - fine.
