He missed his penalty in the shootout, Obika scored twice for St Mirren in the game and also scored in the shootout

Motherwell are suddenly back in the game as Tony Watt's double nutmeg leaves two St Mirren defenders for dead and the former Celtic striker's drive takes a deflection past goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky.

That's Watt's first goal for Well in his first start since joining from CSKA Sofia.

Still a player in there then.

when is their derby against Wall?
  • Good on him, has nothing but good things to say about cafc. Still think he has more natural ability than most of the players in our current squad.
Not only that, but he seems to be a decent, caring person too, judging by his twitter posts. I can only think that mental health issues have blighted his career

Scored a goal for Motherwell last night. Tucked away nicely into the far corner.

"Always liked you Tone."  Pshaw!  It was Jackson and Stephen Henderson who decided Watt was disruptive and got him bounced out of the club.

Widely reported? Or something someone made up, which then got repeated and is now treated as fact?

Are you discussing your box-sets & film franchise viewings with him @paulie8290......? I hear he likes a good film review.

Can we expect contract updates for all ex-players?

Such a shame as he’s a top player on his day. But that was 5 years ago now.

    What’s such a shame?

A further contract with Motherwell is a good result for him at this stage I reckon.

its unfortunate are he’s never become a top top player but very few do. He has/had the raw skill but not the application or the mental strength to make that happen reliably.

Good luck to him and hope he enjoys himself.

    Showed flashes of brilliance occasionally
Definitely had the skill but there was something missing in his attitude but he was a game changer

So @ads when @killerandflash used this thread to write that Watt had first signed for Motherwell in February or @cafcdave123 said he was first training with Motherwell, why didnt you then suggest either of those were stalkig him, or is that just reserved for me.

Same goes for you @PopIcon when killer said Watt had signed for Motherwell in February why didnt you post can we expect a update on all out of contract ex players.

Or do you both just go for the easy target 🤔🤔

I don’t understand the stick directed towards @paulie8290

Tony watt generally has a club per year and has the contract terminated after 6 months. Him having his contract extended is worthy of an update.

if Paulie posted about Darren Randolph or Jon joe shelvey, I would agree.

Tony watt being Tony watt, expect a lot more posts over the years

Didn’t Paulie once say that he follows every single ex Charlton player on social media and favourites all the games which feature ex players, just to keep a track on their progress? I suppose that’s partly why.

It will be interesting to see how he goes because he's been in good form recently. Motherwell manager says he has got him pretty fit.

Tony Watt played 81 minutes against Celtic and was only taken off after being booked seconds before !

At 27, Magic feet Tony could still have a decent career even if it's in the mediocre Scottish premier.
Tony has to be at full fitness to compete.

He played ok in what looked a pretty weak team. If he keeps up the effort, he'll have a good season.
