It makes more sense now that we haven't replaced Lockyer in the squad, it's the £1300pw embargo which is the problem as few players would accept thatScoham said:1 -
We need to get the embargo lifted and then get a squad. I get what you're saying because the off the pitch problems does make it difficult to build a strong squad now. But if Gallen and Bowyer have targets, hopefully we'll be ok as long as the embargo is lifted in the next 2 weeks.SouthWest_Addicks said:Hopefully we can get a couple of players to plug the gaps in the squad before the season starts and plan towards January window.Hate to say this but we should look to mirror ourselves on Millwall transfer signing in 16/17. They brought in 4 qualities players in the middle of the season which won them promotion.2 -
It will be good when we do not have to keep saying "we will know in the next two weeks" or similar words3

Iv'e heard Ben Watson could be joining us if we get taken over.9

That would be an awesome signing for this levelCharlton_Stu said:Iv'e heard Ben Watson could be joining us if we get taken over.0 -
If this happens, I expect a social media post from him apologising for 2003-2009Charlton_Stu said:Iv'e heard Ben Watson could be joining us if we get taken over.12 -

Would be surprised if Watson came although there were rumours that he wanted to come back south last year.0
-
Can't imagine Watson dropping down to League 1, even if we were able to offer circa 3k. He's surely on 10 at Forest.2

He’s actually a relative of a relative of Mrs BR7_addick I could actually have a bit of ITK here let me investigate.Charlton_Stu said:Iv'e heard Ben Watson could be joining us if we get taken over.8 -

I heard we were interested in Watson when Parker left, but that was probably total rubbish.0

Only Arsenal player to go out on loan this week is Ben Sheaf who joined Coventry.
Prior to that, the most recent player to head out on loan from Arsenal to League One was Matt Smith (not that one) to Swindon on August 17, almost three weeks ago.1 -
Unless Bowyer has made the mistake as cant see any other League One signings from Arsenal0
-
I posted that on another thread but he went to Coventry who are now Championship.1
-
Zech Medley, centre back went on loan to Gillingham, is the only one I can find that fits0
-
But he went out on loan nearly a month ago, I can't find a more recent one than that1

Matt Smith (not the one we had last season) is the only other one thats joined a League One team
Sheaf fits the Bowyer mould to be honest, going after players who did well at this level last season0 -
Agree that Sheaf makes the most sense but not sure how much chance we really had if a Championship club was also in for him.1
-
Presume the signing this week will be lynch0
