Pratley had a great game. Not only kept Fraser quiet all the way through but had Jackson in his pocket too according to Curbs.11

Also he almost scored very early on the other day. We're not used to playing the ball into a finisher, we've become accustomed to lumping it long.paulfox said:
I would say the team’s contribution to him needs to be better, the bloke hasn’t had a chance to get in games!!.Davo55 said:Ronnie Schwartz is a very good finisher but his contribution to team play needs some work.1 -
No of course I am pleased we won. But saying MK Dons are a decent side for this level or saying we struggled against worse is damming with fair praise. They aren't. They are 16th for a reason. To paraphrase Tony Mowbray "we should be beating teams like that".ForeverAddickted said:

Like Bowyer is saying, it just gives the players and everyone a lift
Like I said after the last few games, there are signs since the last hour against Rochdale that a corner is being turned but we still aren't putting together a good 90 minutes, let alone a string of games.
4 points is the absolute minimum we should have got out of those last 2 games isn't it?7 -
This is just it... Imagine the melt down on here if Bowyer had come out just now and said that the players needed to stop and realise it was only Milton Keynes that we'd beaten - We bloody needed something, anything to build fromDazzler21 said:
It's a building block and whilst Bowyer tactically still made very weird decisions (Shinnie and Morgan to CF while Schwartz to RW?) We won, let's enjoy that now and pull apart the details tomorrow.ForeverAddickted said:

If we lose it's because of Bowyer and his tactics. If we win it's despite Bowyer and his tactics.

Well my first two words in my last post confirm that... I agree its nothing to shout home aboutCafc43v3r said:

But at the same time every win isnt going to be a performance at the standard from Saturday when we bloody deserved all three points - Its the strange way that Football works, yet with Portsmouth on their way I'm glad the defence have a bit of confidence from tonight to build upon, the issue was never about scoring goals, it hasnt been the case all season, provided we get chances to attack on Saturday there is a good chance we'll score
Up until tonight, we've shown too easily that the opposition can do that themselves2 -
Pitch 0-10
Effort 10-10
Clean sheet 10-10
Three points 10-10
I'm feeling 10-10
Thanks Lee and the boys. Safe journey home.
MOM Millar.10 -
I think Pratley has proved himself why we should never see him at cb again!!. Did really well today just slightly behind millar for Motm.Athletico Charlton said:Pratley had a great game. Not only kept Fraser quiet all the way through but had Jackson in his pocket too according to Curbs.0 -
The vote of the Judges are coming in for Milton Keynes
That may emulate Torvile and Dean.
6.6.6.6.6.6.6.6.6.
Fantastic artistic impression by MK Dons.
Thank fuck it's Football and its how many times you put the ball in the net.
Ugly Charlton get the 3 points.

I was disappointed that when we looked to attack first half hour we looked like scoring every attack. The next hour we didn’t really look to do anything and allowed them to control the game. But Bowyers gameplan was spot on. Gunter had a decent game at CB, Deji very good again and generally we looked solid. Pratley man of the match for me, only thing he did wrong all night was when he should have shot first half. Millar a constant thread and the strikers led the line working hard.Generally like Bristol Rovers not an outstanding display just a solid team effort. If we can get Famewo fit I think we could go on a run. February a huge month as I genuinely feel we can win all those matches and close the gap on the top 2 to a point or two.4
-
Lovely stuff.Well done Miller, Pratley and Bowyer.4
-
Just to let people know this season against the top 6 sides in the league MK Dons have basically had 60 - 70% possession.
Let that sink in when you're bemoaning the fact we didn't see lots of the ball and were defending loads. Every other side they have played have had the same experience.7 -
Millar was immense. MOTM. He is going to be some player5
-
Solid performance and good 3 points away from home.
it seems that when we play entertaining football we loose or draw, when we are boring we win, funny old game.2 -
You mean like play perfectly weighted passes where we could easily have gone 2-0 up?Davo55 said:Ronnie Schwartz is a very good finisher but his contribution to team play needs some work.6 -
Millar - what a signing. He gives us so much going forward and he does the oh-so-important work at the other end too. How many times was he back-tracking or nicking the ball away? Quality. Imagine if we'd had him from the start of the season instead of Smyth.
So pleased Shinnie is back - brilliant player. His pressing. His eye for a pass. His ability to find space and cover every blade grass. Missed him so much. Just as much as those CBs.
Speaking of CBs, how good has Deji been since he's come in?! What does he do in training to make Lee not fancy him most of the time? So much so he had to wait until pretty much all other options were explored before him.
Pratley put in a classic Pratley performance - all over the pitch - him and JFC kept the superb Fraser quiet all game long.
Couldn't help be nervous in that second half and that nervousness will be where all the negative comments came from. Bet we'll all have a spring in our step now.
A win and a clean sheet. Love it.17 -
Decent win away. We made it hard for ourselves second half but no surprise we dropped off given the run we have been on. We have bemoaned our luck of late but today they hit the post and bar and Amos made a great save plus Millar's excellent defending near the end. You make your own luck and we earned that tonight.
7 points from 4 games, if we can find a way to beat Pompey and can bring another player or two in and have Innis, Famewo and Maddison return we have half a chance of play offs but we need to go on a run.3 -
I’m almost enjoying the mental gymnastics some are doing on this thread, as much as the result and performance.15

I’ll take that over playing well and then losing out to individual defensive errors
Once Washington went off and we pushed Shinnie into the CF role and Schwartz to RW we were completely unbalanced. A managerial decision that didn't work.
We got the win though so Hurrah to the haddocks.I’m a big advocate of Washington and his pressure/getting in behind defenders. Don’t think we have many others like it.
which is why I can’t understand people being flakey on him0 -

GAME PLAN, we had a game plan and executed it, whatever you think of bows he deserves praise for that.
Fraser was heavily marked and surrounded whenever he got possession, and when they had the ball we were regimented.
Matthews back to his best doing that thing where you let the player take a slight touch and wedge yourself between him and the ball, his specialty that.Oshilaja has found his level, he’s a league one centre half and it shows, solid again.
Millar as well took his goal well and was our best attacking outlet.
Didn’t keep the ball well last half hour only criticism against a side that are misplaced somewhat. Well played the lads big 3 that.17 -
Like to make us sweat don't they..?2
-
Good win but rode our luck big time in the second half - although I reckon that’s about our fragile confidence having conceded goals galore. Reckon that win and clean sheet could be a turning point. Pompey on Sat will be huge.0

Millar on VP“Feels great. Nice to actually score. Boys were great today”
”they play good football. We did what we had to do. It’s all good”
”Worked a lot on getting in to the box”
”It’s great I see progress. Can see myself getting better and better each week”
”I want to attack and score goals and assists. But my job is also to deal with wing backs. I don’t enjoy it but need to do it to make the team successful”
”I’m here to get the ball and drive at players. My final ball needs to improve. Helps us get the ball away from the back and keep possession”
”I’m loving it here. Lads are great. I’m really enjoying it. It’s very different from u23s, intensity is different. I’m getting in to the rhythm now”
”Left wing is my favourite position.”34 -

MK Dons are 16th for a reason - because they're not very good.
On the other hand we are 6th because of sheer luck - because we are also not very good.
That it?22
