What's Jed Steer up to lately? Thought he did ok for us before getting the call back to Villa.
Third choice behind Martinez and Heaton.

Well we won't be signing Long from Hull because he has signed for Millwall.
Or because we’re signing McGivaleraery... (no one can spell his name correctly, why shouldn’t I?)
  • We will definitely need 3rd division standard cover for injury/suspension - Amos being available for all 46 league starts was a fluke, a goaly often has the most starts in a squad but 100% can't be taken for granted.  We'll not be planning on "carrying" anybody but we need adequate cover for all positions, goaly's not one where we'll get away with a non-specialist.
    Scott Carson's gonna be available...
  • Third choice behind Martinez and Heaton.
Thanks, he'll be second choice soon as Heaton is rumoured to be going to Manchester United.

Are you suggesting Scott Carson will swap a place in the City squad for sitting on our bench?
  • If Amos did go Preston, maybe we could do a straight swap (of sorts) and sign Connor Ripley. Never really played in the second tier but quite a bit of experience in this division and would do as competition for the Pompey keeper (if he joins obviously).
  • And definitely too short

  • And everyone knows a keepers foot connects with the ball at least a yard outside the box.

    No awareness.
  • 28 is peak age for a goalkeeper

I'd assume we have shown interest in Macgilivray in the event Amos does not sign
No .. it’s so we can send AMB on loan

Yes but he's not going to want to play second fiddle to Amos nor the other way.
  • Would fit perfectly with Barnsley’s style of football. Imagine how tall he is when he jumps? Bloody giant.
  • Pearce will take him no worries
  • Pearce will take him no worries
With Pearce's type of defending he'll put the striker off no problem, after all he would never expect to get a reach-around from the man marking him mid-game
  • Big Ryan vs him would be some battle

  • Leaburn was tall but not known for a huge leap.

Kick him in the bollocks. That usually slows them down.
  • Not a prolific goalscorer so assume he's more of a defensive midfielder to replace Super Darren Pratley.

6' 4" so just about tall enough
  • Oooh a bloke who I work with played with Paul Digby for the Barnsley youth team. Dont think hes stayed in touch but I've sent him a text anyway
  • And Alex Wright
Or going back to the 1920's Tom McKenna and Peter Robertson .
  • The Sunderland forum is speculating that they may have Owen Dale coming in from Crewe.

Great signing for whoever gets him.

Said he's not spoken to him in about 8 years. As a Barnsley fan said he showed glimpses of talent but never really kicked on. Was apparantly a CB at youth level before moving into midfield around 17.

Linked with Preston and Blackburn as well. I rated him at our place. Although he annoyed me due to killing off our play off hopes, I couldn't help but respect his urge to try when they had nothing to play for. Players with that kind of drive usually go far in these leagues

Having Inniss and Whatmough as two of your four CB's would be a massive risk.
I know mate, tbf I am expecting Adkins to recognise we can't go into next season with Innis expected to be part of our main stay. Innis for me will be the type of player we would use when a regular CB needs a rest or for a specialist game, up against a big strong 9 like Stockley for instance. Also off the bench to see a game out. He can't be expected to play a whole season based on injury. No problem signing Whatmough as long as we got in a new left and right footer who have good playing records
