  • Disheartening. Such a positive vibe when Thomas kicked out the chancers and sold us his dream. Difficult to see where we go from here.

Just out of interest, how many players short do people think we are of being a decent side for this division
After Sheff Wed, I said 3-4.

After Oxford, it was more like 4-5.

After MK, it seemed to be 5-6.

    After today, I’m thinking 7-8.
Thank you!  I know it must be difficult to admit, but we are just getting worse

5 for the first team, another 3-4 in the squad.

Crazy that Ben Amos got beaten approximately 750 times from distance on this very pitch last season yet we didn’t try a long range effort once.

    Starting to become pretty concerned.
  • I have never experienced such utter dross. First followed Charlton back in 1966. Believe this is, league-wise, the lowest the club have ever sunk. Seems any clown or spiv is OK to run a football club nowadays. Seems any "has been" can still find a place in football management. Love the 21st century and  its values?

Wright, Curtis, Kinsey, Campbell, Went, Reeves, Gregory, Tracey, Tees, Moore, Peacock

All put in an honest stint. Perhaps not "World Class" footballers, but all "Real" footballers, playing under "Real" managers, with the club in "local" ownership. Charlton had a chance..........

Meanwhile Ethels (EFLs) love child sits smugly on top of the division, by design. Football, the beautiful game.........

Ffs, not another one who wants to go on about 1960 all the time

If we want to play I said, I said there were no goals in the team before the season started. I won't take too much credit as it is pretty obvious.

No I’m fine with it. Don’t feel like I’m admitting anything.

Always best to go into the season with an open mind and trusting the people at the club have got it right, in contrast to the criticism and negativity.

Unfortunately the season is looking very bleak from where I’m sitting.

If you take future injuries out of the equation, we can change this with three players. Two when Purrington is back. Both have to be midfielders with specific attributes.
Purrington was not good enough to be in the team for much of last season

Adkins isn’t blameless in the last 5 games. Yes the team isn’t great but his tactics, approach and game management leave a lot to be desired.
I can’t decide whether he thinks lumping it to Stockley is viable or whether it’s all he can play with the players available.

I never thought I'd see a worse midfield than
    Foley Croft  and Jackson.

    But I just have.
This season is a total right off after just 4 matches.
Shove your guitar up your arse and sign some decent players
You did. Foley, Crofts and Ulvestaadt.

I think it is better to call it as you see it personally
  • So this is the much awaited team that was meant to storm this league.

Thomas and Nigel are having a laugh.

In reality this team and this squad is so poor it is embarrassing.

It is one of the worst squads I have ever seen assembled.
    An absolute disgrace.

Much as I hate the bloke, we need a Warnock type character to manage us.

A failed rock-guitarist and nicey nicey Nigel are not up to scratch.

  • As Tommy Docherty would say "We were lucky to get nil"

If Josh Sims is still unattached get him in and another central creative midfielder.

Mark Bowen and Curbs agree with me, with these players, we don't have much option but to go 442

Curbs asking why we don't have a capable midfield. Says the only good points were the keeper Famewo and Stockley. Listen to a man who knows his football Nigel.

At HT I posted from the game saying it was flat and Morgan isn't a 10, well 2nd half we huffed and puffed but had no end product, it was petering out to be a draw, then they scored on 87 mins I think, and we looked even more bereft of ideas than the first 86 mins!! Unbelievable!!
We do not have a the players end of! Stockley needs support, Kirk is good, that's about it!!
We've 6 days to save the season, without quality signings were stuffed, and up until now I've been very optimistic, but that changed today! Adkins body language when he walked to the tunnel was awful, he got roundly booed, while the Wigan fans celebrated.
First ST in nearly 25 years, travelling down from Leicester....may not bother much longer, sad to say!

I don't blame Adkins for this shitshow.

He stood on the pitch at the end of last season & said 'that'll be us next year' when Hull were celebrating.

I think he genuinely thought it at the time. I believe the budget he was promised at the time has been stripped back.

Sandgaard, Roddy & maybe even Gallen have seriously let Adkins down in my opinion
I blame Adkins. You set your team and game plan up according to the capability and familiarity with it of the players you’ve got available. Our players all look like they are being asked to play a game plan and system they were told about 10 minutes before the match started. He will ‘lose the dressing room’ if this goes on

TS was meant to be our saviour.

After all the crap with Roland, we said we have our club back.

New owner, experienced manager, a structure, a plan and all that.

The missing piece is we have no TEAM.

Its 50% weaker than last year and 200% worse than the year before.

    Albie a No. 10??? - do me a favour
    Gunter at LB??
    Watson anywhere near the team???

One dimensional pattern with all the pressure on Stockley.

The club has accepted this position and some fans may even accept.

I will always be a supporter, but I will not go to any games again until I can see some proper investment in a TEAM.

Kirk must be thinking "what the F**K have I done"?

Roland pissed us all off, but this is no better. Sorry to be so blunt, but I saw this coming weeks ago.

A few of us saw this coming weeks ago but we were told to "grow a pair" "man up" and "stop wetting the bed" because there is 'X' amount of days left in the window.

It seems now a lot more people are putting down the rose tinted glasses and seeing for themselves.
  • Though we certainly need more, I feel with a proper good creative CM, and a left back, all of a sudden we start to look alot more balanced and better.

At the moment, and I don't think it's by design, we lose that battle in midfield and end up punting it long.

For his faults one thing Bowyer was not wrong about, in my opinion, was the importantance of the midfield and it was no shock he always wanted plenty of options in the centre of midfield.

I really get the sentiment about a pathway through to the first team for our youngsters and Morgan is clearly someone who should be the most obvious example of that. But sadly he seems like someone who is better when they are 'out of the team'. We need to get a proper number 10 in it we want to get out of this league.

It's all been said on here. Absolute rubbish. Europe in 5 years. My arse!! You get what you pay for Sandgaard. Rubbish players. Rubbish team. Rubbish football. Get your act together!!! You haven't a clue mate.
It's the hope that kills you, and that's what you've given us with your big mouth. Is it 9,000 season tickets that have been sold on the hype?! Looks like a con job to me. What do they say? You can't put lipstick on a pig. Truly awful.

We are embarrassing. Worse than anything I have ever seen - even when we had the Dailly and Doughty donkey show at Centre Back

Sorry that pre-Thatcherite honest values and intentions upset you so much. The sixties were wonderful, happy times, when the nation was filled with optimism. Feel so sorry for you, obviously never enjoying  the honesty, cheerfulness and bonhommie  (we used to refer to it as "fun") of the times........... 2021; Plastic football for plastic people?
