It doesn't matter how 'stable' we are if we're going down to League Two anyway.
There’s never anything wrong with criticism, now or otherwise. It’s the way it’s done that winds people up. Articulate where you think something’s going wrong. Offer your insights to make it better. Thousands of people constantly venting “We r shite”, “this is shite”, or ”you are shite” doesn’t make for a healthy discussion.
Absolutely correct. I hate the usual obvious lazy predictable comments when we we don’t beat team we might think we should.
Today we were shite though and I think the manager despite being in charge hasn’t a clue what to do next and out ownership ain’t the white knight I thought he might have been.
With out doubt the worst Charlton side I’ve ever seen. Absolutely shite.
When there is something still not right going on at the club in the backroom (Because there must be) no sensible comments coming out only unhelpful bluster it is more than obvious that the owners ambition is just wishes. Needs investment to get into Europe not words. Bower left for good reason...he knew it was never going to happen. Don't know where anyone thinks we can get good new players or loans. I certainly haven't got a clue who is out there still unattached. Is Gallen in control? I doubt it. We would not be this far down this dead end if he was
Just out of interest, how many players short do people think we are of being a decent side for this division
After Sheff Wed, I said 3-4.
After Oxford, it was more like 4-5.
After MK, it seemed to be 5-6.
After today, I’m thinking 7-8.
Thank you! I know it must be difficult to admit, but we are just getting worse
No I’m fine with it. Don’t feel like I’m admitting anything.
Always best to go into the season with an open mind and trusting the people at the club have got it right, in contrast to the criticism and negativity.
Unfortunately the season is looking very bleak from where I’m sitting.
I'm just a realist And realistically we are proper shit
That’s not realism.
8 years out of the last 13 in league one. Our lowest ever league position. I'd say yes it is
Midfield is way below what is required and was exposed today.
Morgan isn’t good enough. Hasn’t been for a few seasons now (in all honesty, has he ever been?). Set pieces are awful (yes, we had Stockley’s goal against MK Dons but not much else), and is certainly not good enough to be one of the CM’s in a 4-4-2, as shown by our complete capitulation when we changed formation (which is on Adkins).
Watson is nicking a living. Comically bad. Same boat as Foley and Crofts, made even worse by the fact that (I presume) he’s probably one of, it not the, highest earner at the club. May have been a good player in his prime, but no where near good enough now.
Dobson tries hard and could be a good squad player, but that’s about it.
We’ve also got a covid stricken Gilbey, an injured JFC, and a now injured Sean Clare. Do any of us believe that these players returning are good enough to transform our midfield and season? Gilbey maybe, but it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting a 100% fit Gilbey any time soon.
That’s too many options who are no where near the standard of a top league one team. Having so many options in midfield also, worryingly, means it’s an area we’re unlikely to invest much more in.
Our midfield options when we’ve go out of this league before has included a prime Jackson, Stephens, Hollands, Aribo, Cullen and Bielik. Our current midfield options are so far away from this quality.
Lots of angry people tonight, but I'm not convinced it was that bad. I'll give you these positives: • The traffic in the Blackwall Tunnel wasn't too bad this week, got there nice and early. • Less busy around the ground. Able to park in Mirfield Street instead of New Lydenburg. • No queues on the concourse. They've learnt to pre-pour beers. I even got a smile from the lady on the till. I reckon Adkins has been training them all week giving them his carpe diem schtick. • It'll be even quieter next week. Might get a whole block to call my own. • Watching that all season will make the time go really slow. If we can all avoid succumbing to a stroke through sheer anger and frustration, it'll be like living for an extra year.
Lack of creativity, lack of desire from some quarters, and really poor tactical implementation.
We are relying on Morgan to be the creativity, he has the ability but not the foresight to implement it. Playing Dobson & Watson in midfield is ludicrous, neither are able to pass forward more than a couple of times a game, especially Dobson.
Stockley will work his socks off, but he gets zero service in a goal scoring position, might partly be his own fault but...... 1 shot on target again for the team today is simply woeful.
Washington we don't play to his strengths, and as for taking off DJ I literally give up, can only assume he had a knock.....
It's going to be a very long season, think in the next few weeks we'll see what Thomas is made of in a footballing/business sense.
I've given up on Morgan. He's a lost cause. Even the players look like they've had enough of him.
He was no worse than anyone else out there, other than MacG
In one sense he wasn't but he didn't do what we needed him to do in his position and playing the system we do. There is a lot required of him and it is probably too much at this stage.

1. Brace for Bonne..again 2.. "Run out of ideas" Bowyer just won 5-0 away in the championship. 3. Aneke scored. 4. Bauer scored. 5. Clean sheet for Amos. 6. Doughty can't even get a start at Stoke. 7. Taylor has scored something like 5 in 45 at Forest.

I'm not basing that on one performance. He doesn't have the quality or the brain to play as a 10 and he doesn't have the defensive side of his game to play as a CM. I'm not sure what he is, other than not ready for this level.
Don’t get me wrong the team isn’t good enough and the football awful currently, but people already calling for TS to sell the club? Deluded. People make mistakes, people learn. Yes TS hasn’t got it right yet but give the bloke a bloody chance! You think he doesn’t realise this? You think he doesn’t want to sign more players? It’s about balance. You want a rich owner who throws money about for fun then go and support Ipswich, Wigan or Man City.
Crucial ten days for Charlton. Clearly we have a sub standard midfield, Gilbey is almost certainly long term. We have no left back or indeed cover. The positives are we do have a good nucleus of a team but we are not seeing that due to the gaps in the squad, the loan market has yet to be used and we have ten days to plug those gaps. if we continue with such a small squad, injuries will almost certainly occur and we could end up having to cater for those as well. The recruitment team need to act quickly.
I’ve received an email from the club advising I get to the Valley early so I don’t miss the pre match entertainment. I don’t want that but really hope for entertainment during the match.
Im pissed off there was neither pre match or during the match entertainment.
Just realised I got my 2nd prediction in a row correct again ffs
It was a pretty even game barring the crosses into our box were causing problems every time they came in and it was only a matter of time before we conceded from one.
I think every keeper that comes to The Valley may aswell bring along a deckchair because we create fck all. We could have played all night and still wouldnt have scored. Something has to change because if it doesnt we are in the shit.
Transfer window is still open though so trying not to be too negative 🙄

That is a considered and sensible reaction. If they didn't see this coming, at least they know the problem now. I can't believe Adkins didn't see this coming so something must have happened to affect our budget. But money has to be spent as an emergency now or it will cost more money. At least Adkins will be aware where it has to be spent.
Nige was right to stubbornly stick to his 433 system, because when we swapped Washington for Dobson and went 442 we went from "a bit shit" to "properly shit".
Morgan is league 2 standard at most, and when in a midfield pairing with Watson, looked like a lost child, wandering around the pitch. Utterly dismal, and let's be honest how much longer can people hide behind "he's young" as an excuse? The bloke is 21, he's not a 17 year old youth player.
Inniss and Famewo spend a lot of the game playing 5 yards too far apart. So through balls down the centre of the pitch split them easily, and when they're fartarsing about with the ball, they have to then try and pass 20/25 yards to eachother, which they aren't particularly proficient at.
Lastly, Kirk walked off down the tunnel at the end, hitting himself in the head with his water bottle over and over again. I presume he's either punishing himself for signing for us, or desperately trying to injure himself so he doesn't have to play with that shower of shit for a while
Had a beer and thought about it. Players gave there all but aren’t good enough. Never looked like scoring. Feel sick saying this but you compare the quality of their subs (I.e, the guy who got their second) compared to ours and no where near the quality.
3 defeats in a row in league 1 is a crisis for us. Not good enough and it’s already August and dreading this season.
We went for the three points at the death and it probably cost us one. I don't think one would have been a massive help and it was understandable. It didn't work, but it was understandable.

So many players offer very little.
