I do get the sense that Cawley is less connected to what’s happening then before
Andy Marshall used to feed him a lot of information
Yep, can sense he’s a couple of steps removed now

Todd Kane would be an odd one , don't think we need another RB and served a 7 game ban last season for abuse towards Sergi Canos

If Richard Cawley is correct and our final fling will be loans then I can see fans drifting away in droves. Not a prayer of top six. We’ve become a well established third tier club now. Shocking. TS needs to break silence and put the record straight.
Lowery going to cost us money …. and Dempsey if we go back will cost us money as well

I’m not surely Cawley is as in as he was and so I wouldn’t worry too much. I think 4 loans and 2 perms are the absolute minimum we still needed but what we need and what we get are 2 different things

No shit Sherlock. Cawley’s tweet was suggesting that although permanent deals were not impossible, it was more likely loans from now on.

I hope we're happy with ourselves for not offering Gillingham over the odds ;)

You know you're clutching at straws when you're believing Ronnie over Cawley 😂

What is making people say Cawley doesn't know as much? He's always been bang on the money

Hasn't he said himself that the club is much tighter with info and that he is now only getting news one just before the club make it public?

So, exactly the same as before - just later.
  • The silence coming out of the club and TS is absolutely deafening. In some regard it'd be fair to question the right of the supporters to know the behind the scenes ongoings but after Saturday we definitely deserved something. TS has never been so quiet!

34 year old from the Scottish championship, not played for 18 months but with a bit of help he should be able to play 45 minutes by Christmas

Tbf if the Club are using the approach of low bids to desperate clubs for their best players, whilst pleading poverty(limited budget), then they can hardly say what they’re doing until after the event.

Obviously frustrating as hell for the fans though as we have been let down so many times before and the football thus far has been pretty woeful.

We wait in hope of a positive few days!

Loans are realistically the only option with such little time left in the window now. Quicker to complete and less negotiation on transfer fees and wages. I just can’t see there being the quality of Cullen, Bielik and Gallagher though. Another summer of rebuilding next year beckons.
  • Todd Kane is a right back - the last position we need - and a quick Twitter search shows he is widely regarded as a hapless punchline by QPR fans.

If we sign this guy it will confirm my suspicions that Ged Roddy is engaged in some kind of elaborate trolling campaign at Charlton Athletic's expense.

Can’t you have a word and get them in on free transfers? Don’t go offering them £18k a week though please.

That assumes that we have not been in negotiations with anybody or made any offers that were initially turned down.
There are some fantastic young players out there. Some are very close to being included into 1st team squads.
We are obviously playing a high risk strategy, but the gains could be considerable.

The likes of Maatsen, Bielek, Cullen, Gallagher were realistically nowhere near their parent clubs' first teams at the time we first signed them, I don't get why the big PL sides would still be wondering whether to loan out their 2021 equivalents, several weeks into the season

Don't disagree with the negativity around which loans are available, are they of similar quality to what we have been spoilt with previously, BUT....had any one heard of Bielik, Gallagher, Cullen, Da Silva etc before we had them? Doubt it. Expect to sign someone you've never heard of and hope to be pleasantly surprised. It's gamble time

Having watched the West Brom U23s play Arsenal last night i thought they had 3 or 4 players who won't get much game time this year that would walk into our team.... and that's West Brom - I would hope we've got some decent loan signings lined up.

    Hope.

Because they announce their 25 man squads on the 1st September. Some will not make the cut and they will want them out on loan playing men’s football.

Offering just £200 thousand for Dempsey is a bit of a poor opening bid,our fans would be wetting there bed if a club came in for Stockley for that amount.I wonder if any teams are looking at any of our players with the window closing soon
Not really Gillingham have a huge tax bill that needs clearing why not try a low offer …. good business sense by CAFC …… but all the time there championship interest Gills will hold out until late on deadline day when they might just accept a lower offer
    More rubbish.
