Post-match Match Thread: Lincoln City vs Charlton Athletic | Saturday 16th October 2021

We started comfortably at Lincoln, whose home form has not been good. But when Lee went off injured, we fell to pieces. Kirk moving into a central position with CBT coming on did not work in the slightest. We limped into halftime, lucky to be level. Why wasn’t the formation changed earlier?

In the second half, we came out with Leko centrally and Kirk back out on the wing. We were only marginally better. Lincoln put on the pressure, which resulted in an own goal from Stockley. Lavelle equalised soon after, putting the ball in from close range after a corner scramble. We couldn’t build on that.

The performance, overall was calamitous.

After the international break, and with a couple of wins under our belt, we expected that we’d take advantage of the opportunity. We didn’t. We didn’t look prepared once Lee went off. We’ve taken a step back again. Massively disappointing.

Lincoln 2 Charlton 1

Over to you.

been patient with Adkins but that was the last straw for me, these arent bad players but the sloppiness today was appalling….absolutely dire performance, no energy, no belief, no discernible tactics…hopeless & I wouldn't blink if Adkins is fired now

I've said it multiple times and I'll say it again, he won't be sacked.

If NA had any dignity he would resign, if TS had any balls he would sack him, we shall see the what sort of people we have in charge over the next 48 hours.

    I fear the worse.

Give it a rest mate, you're like a stuck record.
  • Respect to the 1,355 up there
we’ll do well to have half that next season if we stay up

i hope none of these players are with us in 2 years
cos they’re fucking lame and punchless
    Complete and utter guff
the manager has to go because he isn’t getting a tune out of these clowns

    shameful Times for our club
    beyond pathetic

  • That for me is the game that confirms Adkins hasn't got a clue. If stays I really think we could go down

In all seriousness, I’ve been saying this for a while now but I really I can not get over how unfit we look in October.

    Dreadful team performance.

It's 3am I think it's time to go to bed.

Back to square one. Without Elliott Lee our confidence drained visibly and we reverted to our usual hoofball. We barely strung 2 or 3 passes together for the rest of the game. Thoroughly outplayed by a weakened Lincoln side. Gutted we couldn’t hold on for a point but in all honesty we got what we served - a 2-1 thrashing.

I don’t easily give up on players but Charlie Kirk is taking the piss. Ineffective out wide, he got the chance to play in the number 10 role and was even worse there. Towards the end of the game, with a chance to spring a counter attack but passed the ball meekly to a Lincoln midfielder.

Will we have a new manager by Tuesday? I very much doubt Sandgaard will pull the trigger but if Adkins can’t build momentum from the results at Fleetwood and in the Pizza trophy, and can’t organise and motivate our team better for a winnable match today you have to wonder what’s wrong.

So you think that from Kirk is an acceptable standard?

I have never been one to call for a manager to be sacked, but quite honestly I think being handed his P45 would come as a relief to Adkins.
He cannot possibly be happy with the situation, whatever has caused it.
For his own well-being, I think Adkins and Charlton need to part company.

For me that was the straw that broke the camels back. That performance was an absolute disgrace.

Sandgaard needs to grow a pair and get rid of Adkins today. How long is he going to accept this shit?

we haven’t played for 10 days, yet look so unfit.

Absolutely sick and tired of the shit. that gets served up every week.

Nobody played well today, but Kirk…..that was a shameful performance for a professional footballer.

I'm not sure Sandgarad has a clue either
  • Sack him now pls. Its like Les Reed, Dowie and Parkinson football all rolled into one.
The players are proven good enough for this level.  The manager isnt bringing that out. Hes got to go.

At the end of the day we need results now and I just cant see any improvement as the matches tick by. I think NA is a nice bloke but it is time for a change. However all you folks shouting for JJ to take over just remember who the defensive coach is.
Get a new manager and allow him to bring his own coaches in

Though I'm not a fan of protests after all we have been through in recent years with RD but maybe something like that might push TS to do the right thing.

We've been shit all season and it sounded like today was awful. Adkins needs to go, should have gone after Bolton

If Adkins was a dog, any owner would have to book that dreaded appointment with the vet now.

    It's inhumane.

We only had seven players on the pitch with any passing interest in the result of the game.
