And into the bargain we are giving game time to a player from a Premiership team who will undoubtedly be off to another team next year, ala Gallagher, Bielik, Cullen, Millar, Da Silva.......
Absolutely pointless.0 -

This Lavinner could potentially make our 2recognised right backs plus 2 right wingers redundant all who our own players in favour of a loan player who has never a played a league match in his life , not sure what this says about the state of our squad4

Mathews and Gunter don’t attack or press enough, Leko and CBT don’t defend well enough.
I don’t think our two experienced right backs will be offered another contract so I think we will be in the market for one next season.
I am hoping that if it is a right wing back coming in on loan and that he does well, we have an understanding that we can buy or loan again.2 -
Won't judge him as a player 'til he turns out for us but it is comforting to hear that the talk is about him playing at RB or RWB because that footage only served to confirm that he isn't comfortable at playing LB or LWB - constant need to turn inside and when the opportunity did present itself to take it on the outside he didn't do so. I also counted 23 passes with his right foot, just three with his left plus a clearance with that peg that had all the hallmarks of it being nothing but a "swinger".2

Athletico Charlton said:Charlton Life discuss Lavinier. A Charlton fan sends a text to his Spurs mate to ask what he is like. That Spurs guy tells his mate he has heard Charlton are after the RB. Mate posts up a tweet. Other websites jump on it. Hey presto a rumour gains legs. Then we get Mata on loan from Man UTD.For what it’s worth he looks quick, reads the game quite well, comfortable with the ball on either foot but maybe delayed his pass a fraction too long.
but certainly looks like there might be a player in there and as someone has said you’d like to think Chris Powell knows the lad and may have played some part in this. Finally I’d guess it’s a loan with possible permanent - so a “try before you buy”0 -
I signed him to play lwb for welling in the championship on football manager. Very one footed defo needed to be on the right side. No this nonsense means nothing but hey ho3

A Totally pointless, short term, panic signing.I don’t know what this club and fanbase obsession is with ex players?
We need to move on, break the cycle and sign fresh, hungry, young players.
we should be building for the future not continuously looking backwards at old players.
Good to know it’s ok that the Defoe incident was years ago I look forward to you forgiving Taylor in 10 years time for the same reason.
And with Taylor's situation, you are comparing apples to oranges. And no, I will never forgive him.0 -

unless TS gets some investment, because he’s rich, but not rich enough, we can’t compete with the likes of Wigan, Sunderland, Ipswich1 -

You've literally included two players in your list that we signed on loan two seasons running.
But whatever I say I wrong. I was wrong in the summer & I'm wrong now.So wrong again, I’m afraid.
I'll withdraw graciously from this thread & let the rest of you argue the toss.5 -

Big Ronnie was a shambles. Kirk was another shambles. Aneke going and then coming back and being offered a 3.5 year deal makes no sense. Now we sign an unproven youth prospect on loan and make four senior players redundant. What do we do with DJ, Leko, Matthews and Gunter after Lavinier joins? Do they join Watson in the ever growing 'good to have around the camp but not good enough to play' squad?. And we can add Defoe to that squad too if he joins.
The club looks like a refuge for injury prone old pros seeing out their playing days in London as it is.
I realise its heresy to say so but I suspect owner interference in the process. The best recruitment was undertaken when Bowyer and Gallen were left by Roland to get on with it. Everything since then has been mostly rubbish.3 -

It's going to be a long season watching this formation without the right personnel to play it consistently effectively.0 -

I love CL…but sometimes, it’s depressing.
The lather people get themselves in over potentially signing an u23 wing back from Spurs….in a completely pointless season.
This thread should be sightings in McDonalds, players checking into Bexleyheath hotels and personalised number plates seen at The Valley. Not rowing over whether a kid from Tottenham can play in a 3-5-2.
And anyway, who cares about signings - and signing u23s at that - when it’s January and we’re heading for a mid table finish….in the third division.Didn’t we used to be a better class of football fan? This is very third division behaviour. We used to be cooler than this.8 - Sponsored links:

Great news , Bowyer will be gutted losing him halfway through the season , just like when he lost Connor Gallagher1

Although I just get loled when I question our saviour
We are in the bottom half of league one about 6 points above the relegation zone.
This is the third transfer window Sandgaard has been in charge of.
So I would say things could and should have been done better.3 -
2 new young fit attacking wing backs, what's not to like
just need to ship a few out now and trim the squad20 -

I'll leave you to your Sandgaard love in echo chamber where no one is allowed to criticise our great leader.
Bye.3 -
Castillo as I posted Page 41. I don't think Lavinier is the Spurs guy.3

Intresting that Bowyer described him as "fat and over weight" when he rocked up at Blues......
Also both are highly likley to be let go in the summer as we don't have any full backs at all under contract for next season it can only be a positive can't it?1 -

Quite frankly I am fast falling into the negative camp myself.
I'm sick of supporting shit, however grateful I am to the owner and however "sensibly" run we are.
Mid table third division football is shit and needs to be called out as such8 -
