according to the FFL highlights prog, Cole Stockton might be moving down the coast a few miles to Fleetwood, hardly a glamour move .. he can't be on sale for a lot if Fleetwood are the buyers .. last season might have been an 'Ajose one off', but surely we should be in the chase for a proven(ish) L1 striker ?1 -

If the likes of Fleetwood are the favourites, that suggests that Ipswich, Derby etc and other "big" clubs don't see him as worth the gamble, not just us.0 -

We can disagree on who it should be but ultimately I am not convinced TS does know. It is my problem with the bloke and it has been doing my head in for a while. I love this club and believe he is honest and has spent money. I just think he is clueless and it will end badly and it is getting to me big time. It is hard to get excited about the club at all at the moment for me. I dearly hope I am wrong but the longer it goes the more I think I am right.8

I have to say considering how good the performances have been, how excellent some of the new signings have been, and the praise that has been levelled at us by neutral commentators it feels very wide of the mark.
Like everyone he has made some good decisions, and he has made some poor decisions. But on the whole who out of a signings this year points to the club being ‘clueless’?
Time will obviously tell, but so far the improvement over last season is there to see.22 -

JFC and Gilbey both off the books would help a lot in being able to bring in a striker IMO4

That with all due respect is your issue rather than mine. I have said we can disagree with how a few times but I'll say it once more in case it takes a while to permiate. I think Cole Stockton would be a potential solution but the issue is bringing more goals in the team however that is best done, which I have said - please read before you come to conclusions if that is possible. I have a view of a solution and the problem. We can disagree on the soloution but ought to agree on the problem unless we have rose tinted specs.
I am looking at it all in the round and trying to find evidence it will come good, but I see somebody who knows not a lot, employing those that suck up to him and making poor decisions. Yes he not a crook, yes he is spendinging his money but he is not spending it wisely IMO. Playing his song at the start of last season was crass, especially as the squad was clearly wanting. Behind the scenes it is well reported that it is chaos from multiple sources. I could like that song if it was played after every victory.
This beer thing is the latest load of crap. He is so out of his depth IMO that I can't see him ever being a success here and we should remember that we will never be sustainable as a League One club so it is important we get out of it. I'm not going to protest, just lose my enthusiasm and excitment for the club I have loved all my life as a safety valve for my hapiness, because I think the owner might be a plonker. An honest plonker but a plonker all the same.
If you want to disagree, fine but look where that is coming from. I don't want Sandgaard to be a plonker. I'd like him to run the club well with all my heart. I just think he will ultimately damage us because of the sort of person he is.4 -

Is Morecambe to Fleetwood even a step up?
If Stockton signs for Fleetwood, he'll be persona non grata in Morecambe. Judas!

So far this season we have played 4 games, won 2, drew 1 and lost 1, all whilst getting praise for the the style of football we are playing from both fans and neutral commentators alike.
Those 4 games have been against.
Draw against Accrington Away - The team with one of the best home records last season, and looking at there two home games this season something that looks likely to continue.
Win against Derby at home - Team just relegated from the championship essentially due to a points deduction. Big budget, lots of quality, fancied to do very well this season.
Cup win against QPR at home - Championship team with the much fancied Beale in charge, who made very few changes to the side starting in the league.
Lose against Sheffield Wednesday away - Another team full of championship quality, with a very well respected manager in charge and fancied to do very well this season, yet we essentially dominated the game for 75 minutes and the result could have gone either way.
Its not like we are being outplayed and out thought by teams lower in the division which happened for much of last season.
We have signed O’Connell, Payne, Wollacott, Sessegnon, McGrandles, Egbo and probably the most exciting under 23s prospect out there at the moment in JRS. The only 2 of those who have not earnt praise yet are McGrandles and Egbo both who have been or are coming back from injury.
We are playing a brand of football which is light years away from anything we have played in recent years at the Valley, which is actually making as exciting and fun to watch.Yet, you and some others, because we have a bit of weird owner who has definitely made some questionable decisions, certainly on the commercial side of things, have decided to brand the whole operation clueless. When things are never as black and white as thatI have no idea what your expectations are Muttley, and it’s sad that you feel like you’re losing your enthusiasm for Charlton during what I think is a very exciting transition for us. But there we go. I’m enjoying the journey and will continue to do so54 -
As I thought yesterday - us not buying a forward to replace Washington cost us a victory. That is on TS.

You probably can't see there are not enough goals in the team. Don't take it out on me that I can. or the others that can also. My solution would be Stockton but every solution carries a risk. I would be happy with any solution and you suggested I wouldn't.
You would probably say the same but I don't rate your football knowledge. A bit like I don't rate Sandgaards. Your post focussing on my view on Stockton sums it up when it is entirely incorrect. What we are short of should be obvious to a village idiot. The solutions we can have views and disagree on.4 - Sponsored links:

You are the one who makes stuff up
You have this view Stockton isn't the answer, I have a view that he could be. Nothing wrong with that and either of us could be right or wrong but what you posted as my motivation was childish and wrong.

Can we leave it at that rather than keep saying we need a striker ? You will start Golfie off in a bit 😫9 -
I am arguing over the way a poster, not you, suggested it was about Stockton for me. When if he read my posts it is clearly about the issue we do agree on as you say.
We also agree we need a striker but I suspect our owner may not which is worthy of discussion surely. I do hope I am wrong on that btw.0 -

So JFC may be joining JJ at AFCW, but only if we "help JJ out", whatever that means, looks like the old CAFC charity is again being asked, so we are not so much possibly selling him on, more a case of paying someone to take him off our hands, but that is increasingly looking like the only way this is going to be resolved, what a way to run a ship...🙄🤷♂️1

I presume we took up the contract extension because we thought we would get a few quid for him. It was reported JFC was not over the moon about it. Not sure how that squares with paying somebody to take him off our hands. More likely we would cancel the contract by mutual consent surely.1

Anyway rumours.............The other forum have resurrected a long running rumour, Ryan Edwards 6' 5" centre half at Dundee United. I don't know if he is left footed, but if so this might have legs, albeit the rumoured £350k fee seems a bit of a stretch.
Looks like he is a centre half who scores goals, something we should always take into consideration when signing players. Sorry to sound like Mutley, but being an old sage like myself he is 100% right in this respect.0
